Plan to Defeat State Abortion Amendments
After the overturn of Roe v Wade, the radical left has adopted an aggressive strategy to legalize abortion in numerous states via constitutional ballot initiatives requiring a simple majority vote.
Last November, Ohio – despite previously passing a heartbeat bill and voting twice by large margins for Donald Trump – voted by 57% to enshrine abortion into their state constitution right up until 9 months!
This was a devastating defeat for the value of human life in our culture. The left understood the significance of this battle, pouring $30 million into the state, while many on the right missed it.
Now, the left is doing the same thing in 12 different states. Six of which are Red States – Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, Arizona, South Dakota, and Montana (more may be coming)
Understand this – we have lost EVERY SINGLE TIME abortion has been on the ballot!
If we don’t do something different, we WILL LOSE these fights. And if we lose these fights our nation will accelerate in the devastating spiritual decay that is already eroding our foundations.
We were on the ground working in Ohio last year and learned some important lessons that we believe will be helpful in avoiding the same fate this November in other states:
One, we didn’t raise the funds. We need godly men and women who have been blessed with success and resources to partner with us in this battle. We need resources.
Two, the messaging by the pro-life coalition in Ohio was hijacked and allowed to become so convoluted that many pro-life people in the state didn’t even know what the vote was about the day of the election. “Abortion hurts women”, “this will affect parental notification laws”, “late term abortion is too extreme”, were the messages.
While these things are all true they distract from our strongest argument – the value and humanity of preborn children and the horrific nature of abortion. WE MUST talk about the babies and abortion. We must showcase their beauty and humanity as image bearers of God deserving our love and protection.
The pro-abortion side for years has acknowledged that if we frame the debate around the baby we win, but if they can frame the debate around women they win. WE have allowed our own side to do the enemies work for them!
SO, we are getting out in front in these six red states and producing solid, persuasive, and effective messaging!
Three, there was an utter failure to mobilze the church. If we are to win in these red states it must be through the church rising up and being salt and light. Thousands of pro-life, bible-believing churches sat out the fight in Ohio. Many because they were indifferent, but many because they just didn’t know what was going on and how they could help.
WE have a plan to mobilze thousands of churches in each of these states. We are providing them with hard-hitting literature, easy to use door knocking software, free training, and handouts for their congregations to understand and effectively communicate on this issue.
Imagine thousands of Christians out knocking doors, distributing literature, praying with folks, sharing the gospel, and the message of life throughout each of these states! That is revival!
This is a watershed for the nation. The trajectory of win or loss in these states will affect a generation. If we lose all these states this will affirm the direction the Republican party is already moving – the total abandonment of preborn children and the fundamental right to life.
We will be left with a country with two pro-abortion parties. And the slaughter of preborn children will continue in every state.
BUT…IF we can mobilize churches to take action in their local communities, we can see God use His people to not just defeat the forces of evil, but to bring about revival and reformation, and stay His hand of judgment!
These red states still have a majority of conservatives and a faithful remnant of Christians. We can win. For our children and our grandchildren’s future, by God’s grace, we must win.
