2004 -4th Quarter OSA-Jericho Mission Street Report, Year End Report And when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. We came to this sad and desperate place 83 days in 2004. We come early, to set up and pray before this place starts filling up with people who have decided that their child must die. Our numbers are small but our faith is great, because our God is with us here. Last year, 71 women changed their minds and relented on their plans to kill their child. These women and their babies are the treasure we present to Jesus, and they are more precious to him than any amount of gold, frankincense and myrrh could ever be. While we rejoice over the treasure that was found at this site, we mourn for the 828 babies that died and their mothers who didn't find the strength to resist Satan. We pray that God will grant them the gift of repentance and that He will send one of his people into their lives to tell them about the One who came to set them free. May you all have a blessed Christmas and may the presence of God encamp around your family, Carole LaFreniere
"Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made, Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade, To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole though stretched from sky to sky.” Meri Ben Isaac Nehoria (11th century Jewish poet) There is something wrong with our theology when the life of a baby becomes more important to us than the soul of the woman who is carrying that life. The battle that we have been called to fight at the abortion clinics is not just for the life of the child, but more importantly for the souls of the men and women who come to the clinic. I have been guilty of focusing so much on the plight of the baby that I have forgotten that truth sometimes. The baby can only lose its life, but the mother is in danger of losing her soul. Once she lies down on that table, Satan begins wrapping heavy chains around her soul that are impossible to break free from – aside from the power of the Cross. All of us have met people who are so consumed with anger and rage at the sight of the posters, and sometimes just our presence, that they practically slaver and foam at the mouth in their anger. It's like a case of spiritual rabies; the stricken individual is compelled to pass that disease on to others! We see the results in broken lives, broken marriages, repeat abortions, crazy laws and a world filled with aching hurting people whom Jesus came to save. I am convinced that abortion will never end, until we change our focus from the baby to the souls of those who come to the clinics. The gospel is the most powerful weapon on earth, it changes lives and rescues the souls of men and women who respond to its call. That is why it is so important that we have people at the mill for the post-abortion outreach. Otherwise our message is not the true gospel message. Jesus is waiting for each and every one of those women after the abortion, no matter if it is one abortion or thirty abortions. He loves them. He died so they could have eternal life. Even if they spurned Him going into the clinic, He is still waiting for them afterwards. Jesus came to seek the lost, and He has never changed that mission! And if my Lord is willing to die for these women, then I should feel the same about them. How about you? If you are willing to pray for them, to hand out information, we need you. Call Carole at 817-246-8137 for the times and days.
A couple of administrative changes here at Jericho Mission, Jan Colston is heading up the back to school outreach for us. If you are interested in being a part of taking the gospel to the schools, contact Jan for dates and times at colston@gbronline.com. This Wednesday Paschel High School is scheduled. We are also considering University of Texas at Arlington. The last time we tried to take the pro-life message onto the campus, we were threatened with arrest and given trespass warnings. It's time to challenge this censor of the gospel. If you are interested in UTA, let me know. Danita Gonder is heading up the Muslim outreach for us. We are going to the mosque once a quarter, maybe more, here in Tarrant County. You can contact Danita for dates and times at gonder@charter.net. We are looking tentatively at Friday, November 19th. Our weekly prayer meeting is on Friday nights at 7pm at Bill Bool's house in Ft. Worth. Email Bill for directions at willproject@sbcglobal.net. Our most powerful weapon is prayer. Come and intercede with us for our country and the outreaches we are involved in and to seek God's face. In the mighty name of Jesus, Carole LaFreniere
”And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15
Here in Tarrant County, in addition to Planned Parenthood (PPH) based sex-education, we also have “gay” clubs in some of the public high schools. For the last couple of years, there has been a concentrated effort to get these disgusting sex-education programs out of the schools and replace them with programs that are in compliance with the Texas State Law that requires that abstinence be taught as the preferred method of sexual behavior in teenagers. However, Planned Parenthood has managed an end run around the law by teaching abstinence plus condoms and pills etc. Two of the worst programs are Up Close sponsored by the Women Center and the Wedge which is a gay advocacy program pushed by Mimi Hardy. Pressure from concerned parents resulted in Arlington Heights pulling the Up Close program and replacing it with an abstinence-only program. We have been working on identifying which schools have which programs, so we can specifically target the student body with the antidote to the poison that these groups are pushing. The schools with the PPH type sex-ed, we are going to hit with pro-life, pro-chastity information. The schools that are being targeted as recruiting grounds for homosexuals will be given information on what the Bible says about homosexuality and chastity. All of the schools will be targeted with the gospel message. The schools that don't have either program will be given a Ten-Commandment outreach along with the gospel. Jan Colston will be heading up the school outreach. Email her at colston@gbronline.com for dates, times and schools that we will be approaching. We are really excited about taking the gospel to the youth and hope you can join us. In the mighty name of Jesus, Carole LaFreniere Jericho Mission At the Texas Women's Conference, October 19, several thousand women executives and business professionals were presented with the truth about abortion by those who have experienced its brutal aftermath first hand. By Carole LaFreniere Operation Outcry, Silent No More had a booth at the 5th annual Texas Women's Conference in Austin October 19, 2004. Texas governor Rick Perry and his wife, Anita, hosted the conference. This is a secular event, geared toward working women. Since one out of every three women has experienced abortion, it seems the logical place to reach out to women is not at Christian events, but rather secular events. We can reach the undecided, the un-churched and those who are hurting with the truth about abortion and healing in Jesus! Of the 5,000 women who attended last year's (2003) conference, 51% were corporate executives and 28% small business professionals - many of whom are responsible for their organization's buying decisions. The average age of attendees ranged from 26 to 55. Hispanic, African American and Asian women comprised around one-third of the attendees. We were not sure what the reception would be, and to be truthful, I was stressed out about having to talk about my personal experiences with abortion to a bunch of strangers. I am not an in-your-face kind of person, so it takes all of my courage to open my mouth, especially about private personal pain. I want to thank all of you who prayed for me and Myra, God gave us the strength to share and the peace to do it. The results were more than we could have ever imagined! We gave away over 300 packets of information, which included the affidavit form, testimonies of women who have had abortions, tracts and resources on post-abortion healing. Several tearful women thanked us for being present, they admitted to having had abortions and needing help. Even pro-choice women took information when we challenged them to listen to what women who had abortions had to say about their "choice". One woman walking by froze when she saw the booth and signs saying "I regret my abortion.” When she came over and picked up some information I asked her if she knew about us. She snapped, "I am an abortion provider!" (We think it was Amy Miller.) She scurried off with Norma McCorvey's tract in her hand! Praise God, the one piece she took may lead her to salvation! We had conversations with another abortion clinic employee and Planned Parenthood (PPH) representative Sabrina, who was there at PPH's booth. We witnessed to countless women, and got to testify to the power of God to redeem our lives and drag us out of the pit that sin put us in. ARCHIVES
