To whom much is given, much is required.  That is what the Bible tells us.  Below you will read an excellent article by Dr. Albert Moehler, President of Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, concerning Tim Tebow.

Dr. Mohler has written well here.  He is “spot on!”  Tim chose to remain in the cave rather than face the giant.  He had a number of his friends rationalizing and justifying everything for him.  He is, after all, a “Gospel Preacher” not a social issues guy.  The sodomite agenda is such a bully.  It has won this battle in all our major corporations, schools, and cities.  Now it even has the audacity to go after the Boy Scouts of America.

The NFL has long ago given way to this lie from the pit of hell.  Sportscasters and sportswriters have to pay homage to the lie of homosexual sodomy or they will no longer have jobs.  There is absolutely no tolerance for any other point of view.  There is especially no tolerance for guys like Tim Tebow who proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord.  They hate him with all the fury of hell and now they are literally forcing him to bow down and kiss the face of Baal.  It would be wise for Tim today to rise up and touch the face of Almighty God.  He was born for a time such as this!

Simply put, homosexual sodomy destroys those who practice it and nations that approve of it.  If we love our neighbor, we will speak this truth.  If we hate him we will sit back and do nothing.  “Do not hate your brother in your heart.  Rebuke him frankly so you will not share in his guilt.”  Leviticus 19:17.

Truth is Hate to Those Who Hate the Truth!

“If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved.  And to be steady on all the battlefield besides is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that one point.”-                       Martin Luther

Tim Tebow does not stand for Christ? Really?!? Because he doesn’t fall on his sword for every issue at every opportunity? That’s a tough standard to meet. I guess no one is saved by that standard. Isn’t it ironic that a Southern Baptist is calling him out? As I recall, the Southern Baptist Convention DID indeed take a firm and solid stand on abortion from 1973-1979. It merely turned out to be the wrong one – pro-abortion, anti-God, anti-Biblical, and immoral by any standard. I have forgiven my brothers in the Southern Baptists for blowing it BIG-TIME then. Perhaps we can forgive young Tim for – gasp! – cancelling a speaking engagement.

I do agree that the NFL should be renamed the National Political Correctness League, and I do have great respect for Dr. Mohler.

Clearly, we would prefer that Mr Tebow had not backed out of speaking at 1st Baptist,-Dallas. However, he is a football player not just a Christian spokesman, and capable of making mistakes just like the rest of us. I think we, Christian brothers of his, could be flagged for unnecessary ruffness. Give him a break! He has been a breath of fresh air in the sports world and is bound to be getting all kinds of advice from his handlers not to make too much of a wave in the country’s media so that he can be able to find teams who will be willing to pay him to come play in their city.
