In honor of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I humbly thank Him for this moment and opportunity in which our bonds in Christ may be strengthened. While our city, state and nation is currently torn apart by differences among people, God has joined us together by His Word & Spirit to participate in His healing to our land. For this cause I come to you in faith, believing we not only can see the battle in our midst, but furthermore be the church who God has called to stand.
Jesus said man cannot serve God and money. Abortion has been a money motivated evil among African-Americans even prior to it’s legalization. The exchange of a life …for the hope of a future in now common practice in the African-American community today. Mothers and fathers abandon their children, or being disconnected from their own descendants is often hardly more than a reflection of what it means to be pro-choice. For the love of money?
In the average of our 1000 abortions done on black women daily in the U.S., most all of the moms are healthy without abnormal risks in pregnancy, and not a result of rape or incest. The very heart and spirit of crime against African-Americans is lodged in values pertaining to abortion. How can God in His righteousness advance a people who believe success can be achieved through self-destructive practices, including the murder of the innocent? Not even the men who put Jesus on the cross were willing to take the blood money returned to them in connection with His death. Jesus said that unless our righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees, we shall by no means enter into the kingdom of heaven. God is not pro-choice!
My own experiences as a black man growing up under the persecution of racially motivated laws and limitations deeply influenced my views of who I could trust. I was so radically influenced by my dis-trust of certain people in THIS World, that I became willing to trust others…in THIS world…compromising my faith in the ONLY one we can ever trust completely. These things ought not to be so among us. No wonder so many of us that survive past abortion end up in prison. Man cannot serve God and money.
The very practice of slavery was an infectious compromise for material gain. This nation was born in the faith of men and women seeking a land in which they could freely exercise their belief in Gods word. In America’s early establishment of law it was said by “Blackstone” (who’s work in our justice system is still foundational) that; “when law brings conflict and error among us, we are dependant upon divine revelation from God through His word - in keeping a course of positive social direction.” Christian men and women who observed the malicious beating and lynching of slaves surely noted that the oppressor was vicious and cruel. Maybe they said a prayer, but they didn’t give the helpless soul a hand, and probably didn’t even lift up their voice to say “Stop It”. How dare we speak evil reports concerning slavery when every 4 days God see’s more African-Americans executed by abortion than the Ku-Klux-Klan has lynched in the last 150 years?
In the late 1960’s the Catholic Church saw the horrifying truth of abortion and entered into the battle to end this crime of hate, ignorance and apathy towards human life. In the late 1970’s the Evangelical church joined the cause among others. Today 56% of all abortions are suffered by black and Hispanic women who make up only 25% of the female population. Almost as many African-American babies are aborted as are born. This war of genocide takes in more than 16,000 dollars per hour, and until the African-American community Loves God enough to lift up their hands and their voice to say “No More”…“Let My People Go”…what kind of Christians are we? The God who said “before I formed you in the belly I knew thee”…it is He who wants to know who’s side are you on NOW!
