Renee' mother of Kevin and Brenda Spurlock with foreword by Rev. Flip Benham 4/21/2008
I just wanted to say thank you to all who peacefully protest outside the abortion clinics. I had five children and in no way believed in abortion. I ended up in a relationship that was abusive and I got on birth control. It didn't work and I was devastated. My mind went crazy on me and abortion seemed the only thing to do. I agonized over the decision. I went to Dallas one Saturday morning for my appointment but I was early. I saw the protesters getting their signs out of the car. I was already crying and hysterical over the thing I was about to do. I decided to go around the block because I couldn't get into the clinic and would be forced to stand outside with protesters. As I made my way around the block...the fog lifted and I decided not to do it. Had they not been there I would not have had that critical extra few minutes that it took to save my son's life. I am now a REAL Christian and my son is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I wanted to say that all it took, in this case, was just your presence. Never underestimate what God can do.
Thanks again...................Rene'

Rene' was headed for Fairmount when she saw God's "lifeguards" in front and changed her mind about aborting her precious baby. I asked her how she knew it was our organization in front of Fairmount and loved her response, "I kept looking online for articles about the protesters and the same name kept coming up...Operation Save America...and I thought this testimony is good for any group that is out there fighting on the front lines."
She said the night before the abortion appointment she had an awful dream that she was holding a metal vacuum tube and a baby was holding onto the edge trying not to go down ... "I now know God gave me that dream."
She is a single mom with three sons and three daughters all living with her, and believes that the Lord is moving her into the nursing field. She summed up His influence on her life since having Kevin, "I have come a long way."
What an awesome testimony! I thought even the name of the photography studio that took the photo of this beautiful little boy was significant, "Life touch." That's what the Christians in front of Fairmount did, touch the life of Kevin (and his mom). Now he's touching our lives with joy and thanksgiving.
God bless you.
