Flip and Faye had a great "last supper" last night (Wed.) at Macaroni Grill (Dave's choice) with Dave and Denise and company. It was a great time of fellowship. They laughed and joked and then they went before the Lord in prayer.
Dave was in the hospital this morning (Thursday) for his preparation at 5:30 AM CST. Flip, Faye, family and friends prayed for him before he went in. They asked the Great Physician himself to be the surgeon and bring complete healing to Dave. (As you can imagine with Dave and Flip there, it was a lighthearted atmosphere. Dave went in laughing. Praise God.)
Dave got out of surgery about 1 PM EST and was doing well. His doctor thinks he got most of the tumor. Flip will be able to see him in about an hour after the recovery room.
3 PM EST - Dr Markert felt the surgery went well. He is a Christian and was very thankful. He advises Dave have some radiation. He said the tumor looked worse than last time. Pray for wisdom (James 1:5) for Dave to make the right decisions on his future treatments.
Denise is doing well. I am sure she is relieved this is all over. Today is their 21st wedding anniversary. Dave said he'd be sure to witness to some folks before he leaves the hospital tomorrow (God willing). Flip said "There's no place for the brain cancer to take hold since Dave has no brain." Dave raised his left hand out to them when he saw Flip and Faye come in the room. He said his head hurt and it wasn't the best thing for him to see Flip the moment he woke up! Dave's head is all bandaged up and he's on oxygen. The nurses were taking his vital signs.
We thank God that all went well - our Lord is faithful to perform more than we can ever hope or imagine! Thank you Jesus for hearing our prayers!
