THE STREETS, BRIDGEPORT, CT
"We labor working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the off scouring [scum] of all things unto this day" 1 Cori. 4:12-13
Friday, 8/15/08
14 pro-lifers came out to pray.
11 moms came to kill their babies.
1 mom changed her mind and choose life.
10 babies were left to die.
As we co-labor with our Lord on the streets of Bridgeport, remember, Jesus told us, "The servant is not greater than the Lord, if they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you." John 15:20. Like Paul, when we preach Jesus, we will be rejected by an unbelieving world. We see it everyday. But even Paul was once a non-believer who harassed "Jesus people".
We also get condescension from compromised religious world. Pastor James Miller is the only clergy that comes out to the mill on a regular basis. There are hundreds of pastors in Bridgeport, but they are all hiding in their church buildings as little children are massacred to death in their community on 3787 Main Street.
But we also see the good, and that is what we must focus on! See this mom in the picture above, she came to tell us that over three years ago she was going for an abortion and we talked her out of it. She now has a darling three year boy that she loves so much! She is going to bring him to us to see.Pray she cones to church so we can disciple her.
"Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for behold, your reward is great in heaven." Luke 6:23
This is another mom that came to talk to us. She is going to write her testimony soon, she said her mom had gone for an abortion and paid for it and was on the table when she changed her mind! She said she is so glad her mom gave her life and now she has four daughters. Praise God!
Please join us each Tuesday and Friday morning as we reach out to those who find themselves where they should not be. We will be there until the killing stops. If not us, then who? If not now, then when? Christ is our head, we are His body. We are the hands, feet, voices, crying out to the lost and needy.
For the Least of These,
Marilyn Carroll
