STREET REPORT - BRIDGEPORT

"For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. Tuesday Sept. 2, 2008
11 women went in at killing time.
  2 changed their minds.
  3 turned away.
  6 babies were left to die.

The Lord just continues to bless and encourage us by letting us see a tiny glimpse of the fruit of our labor. This weekend we were invited to a bridal shower of one of the teenage moms we met about 17 years ago on Middle Street. The wedding is next month. She is 34 now and her daughter is 16. We have not seen her in about ten years. They are both fine young women. You can just see how happy the bride's mom and sisters were to see us and how grateful they are for the life of this precious girl. We hope Kelly and Colbi will have the pleasure to disciple this young lady.

Today, Sunday, at our church fellowship, we had another visit from a precious mom, aunt and son. They are a constant reminder of why we go out to the streets at our local killing center. To rescue these precious children from slaughter. We cannot even comprehend the magnitude of what we are doing for our Lord. We are just so blessed to be Jesus's spiritual body. He is the head in Heaven and we are His body, His children on the earth doing His work. God loves us, His Church, so much. We are a costly pearl. Jesus said "this is my pearl of great price, the bride for my Son." What a miracle it is to be a part of the Body of Christ! That is why we need to love one another and esteem each other better than ourselves. We must show mercy, kindness, humbleness, meekness, long suffering and forgiveness toward each other as we co-labor for our Lord. Finally, we are not only to love each other but to love our enemies. That is a hard one, but through Christ all things are possible!

"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal though us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: be reconciled to  God." 2 Cori. 5:20

Please join us each Tuesday and Friday as we reach out to the lost and needy in Bridgeport. On Saturdays another group goes to Planned Parenthood in New Haven. Both places meet about 8 AM to be the voice of our Lord, crying out for truth in our community. If we don't do this, who will? If we don't do it now, then when? It will be too late for the little ones sentenced to death this day and this hour. Just show up and see what God will do.
