A Pastoral response to: Wichita Eagle's Hit Piece on all Christians
“Quest for publicity is getting desperate.” – Mark McCormick, Nov. 23, 2008
I want to thank Mr. McCormick for confessing to my great power and ability to control the media (publicity). I must admit that I had no idea I had such power. That I can dictate to media outlets (publicity) what stories to cover or not cover (publicity). Obviously Mr. McCormick is one of them.
How oxymoronic that he would write a 522 word article about me wanting publicity by of all things… giving me publicity.
Mr. McCormick is so blinded by the worship of his messiah that he didn’t even notice that he became the very thing that he wrongly accused me of.
Evidently in Mr. McCormick’s world, using his column in the largest newspaper in Kansas to criticize a Christian pastor and church is acceptable but a critical church sign is not. It’s called freedom of speech for me, not you Evangelical Christians.
Mr. McCormick has not liked us since we took the gospel of the Lord to our public schools where the Lord, the Bible, and His 10 Commandments are outlawed. You know, things, like don’t steal, and honor your father and mother are forbidden in our public schools.
He does not like us saying that Wichita is the abortion capital. He doesn’t like us exposing the indisputable truth that tens of 1000’s of babies, little fingers, little eyes, little noses, have been burned in the on site, high intensity incinerator on Kellogg, the busiest street in Wichita . He will never have the courage to address that.
Mr. McCormick you asked, “Have I ever met Obama? No.” So I ask you Mr. McCormick, after writing a 522 word article, speaking as me, have you ever met me? “One mustn't criticize other people on grounds where he can't stand perpendicular himself” – Mark Twain
I challenge anyone to find a more personally directed attack by a Wichita Eagle columnist on a Wichita citizen solely for the content of their speech? You see, Mr. McCormick’s idol was touched like Paul did to the goddess Artemis in Acts 19. So he lashed out.
You attacked Pastors Holick, Wright, and Fox, the ones that in your eyes speak the most clearly against your liberal worldview, further proving your disdain for all Christians and the gospel of the Lord Christ Jesus. But what else could you be, since the Wichita Eagle is owned by the radically liberal McClathchy Company based in Sacramento , California . A better title would have been, “I hate all pro-life, pro-family, evangelical Christians.” This was a present day example of Dan. 6:5, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his G_d.”
Thank you Mr. McCormick for illustrating for us so brilliantly, that when we don’t like the message, just shoot the messenger.
This was nothing more than a 522 word article arguing via ad hominem (name calling) which is what one uses when their argument has no substance.
