Below is one of the best simple concise refutation of homosexual “marriage” that I have seen in many years. I find it easy to refute advocates homosexuality as the Bible is clear – Scripture is intolerant of this sin as it is all other sins. Those who reject the Word of God by wrestling the words around to suit their chosen path harm themselves and love death according to Proverbs 8:36. The Bible declares itself beyond debate or private interpretation thus arguments in opposition are foolishness having no basis in truth. This jewel though uses facts, the truth about the Scriptures and reason to expose the gargantuan folly of Newsweek's claim.
I saw this short but thorough refutation to Newsweek’s erroneous claim that the Bible supports homosexual “marriage” in its latest issue on a WorldNetDaily forum. I thought it worthy to pass on. All credit should go to Emily H. Please run the gem below through your own studies and keep & use these facts.
Always standing, Ps. 27:13,
Steve

Newsweek LiedPosted by Emily H on Dec 10, 2008 09:44 on this forum on WND.com (WorldNetDaily)
The Newsweek article "claims the Bible and Jesus never 'explicitly defines marriage as between a man and a woman.'"
In reality it does, numerous times. It does not need to say the precise words "a marriage is between one man and one woman" to have said it.
You will find the word "marriage" 41 times (in an NIV version). Twenty-eight of those times specifically refer to a woman marrying a man. The rest mention marriage as an institution. Not once is it used to refer to 2 men or 2 women. The word "bride" appears 27 times, not once in conjunction with another bride. "Bridegroom" (the proper term for our shortened "groom") is mentioned 20 times, not once were they marrying another man. The word "wife" occurs no less than 370 times, never once referring to being married to another woman. The word "husband" mentioned 108 times, never once refers to being married to another man.
The Bible doesn't need to be more specific than that in order to make the claim that the Bible endorses marriage between a man and a woman and abhors homosexuality. To require that it does is dishonest.
You could make the same argument, on that ground, that murder, in its myriad forms is not wrong either. The Bible never once specifically bans bludgeoning anyone with a baseball bat, shooting them with a gun, or hacking them to bits with a chainsaw, and so on. It does say, in one of those so-called "throwaway lines in a peculiar text given over to codes for living in the ancient Jewish world …", that "thou shalt not kill", but it never explicitly defines certain forms of murder, any more than it defines certain forms of "fornication", like homosexual "marriage".
Newsweek lies.
