Jeremiah 3:20-22 “But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you have been unfaithful to me, O house of Israel ," declares the Lord. 21 A cry is heard on the barren heights, the weeping and pleading of the people of Israel , because they have perverted their ways and have forgotten the Lord their God. 22 "Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding." and... Hosea 6:4-11 "What can I do with you, Ephraim? What can I do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears. 5 Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets, I killed you with the words of my mouth; my judgments flashed like lightning upon you.”

Coming to birth miraculously, wondrously provided for when crossing the desert wilderness, powerfully protected and delivered from her enemies, the nation Israel was formed as a people blessed who would bless all nations. How had these special people fallen from a place of divine blessing and destiny to a nation divided and dwindling? Israel was to be the head and not the tail with the promised One coming from her midst. Yet she forgot that heritage and became an example of a people judged and chastised rather than chosen and blessed. Israel descended into idolatry and decadence mirroring the Canaanite culture she was to transform. She forgot the law and commands of God and broke His covenant. She believed the lie that her wealth, blessing and peace were a product of her own efforts and inventions. Her sister to the South, Judah was no different. Though for a season her glimmerings of devotion delayed the same judgment. Judah , the twin kingdom to the South followed Israel into captivity and judgment. Fast-forward to the 21st century.

Europe has forgotten and renounced her Christian heritage. The cradle of Western Civilization and rights of the individual and democratic republican ideals has forgotten her birthright. Her universities churn out limp spine advocates of political correctness and cultural moral perversity. Moral absolutes are non-existent. Europe has embraced the licentious idols of the day, Mother Earth, Diversity, Pleasure, Human Utopian Ideals, Euthanasia and Abortion. Europe has bowed the knee to Humanistic Relativism and has created a moral vacuum on the continent that waits to be filled. The European church either embraces irrelevance or sleeps in apathy dreaming for ways to somehow justify its existence. Postmodern pastors thinking themselves to be wise become fools and endorse the deviations of the unsaved imagination embracing every teaching and perversity that would tickle the ears and satisfy the flesh. The creature reigns over the creator, the pot over the potter. The list of endorsed abominations includes child killing, doctor murder, sodomy, bestiality, worship of mother earth, and more. And her twin sister over the pond follows her footsteps. America rushes to emulate her error and apostasy.

The New World quickly and ruthlessly also seeks to erase any vestiges of Christian heritage from its backsliding culture. Jesus is no longer worshipped nor His name revered but rather relegated to a curse word or a quaint antique god status. The only enemy that backslidden America sees worth pursuing is those strongly holding Christian religious convictions. Convictions centered in a real Jesus that may lead to righteous actions. American Western Civilization is a dying culture with more of its population passing away than being born. The institutions that once trained champions of freedom and liberty now incubate those that are bent on its own destruction. Liberty no longer is linked to responsibility and sacrifice; rather it is another word for personal actualization and pleasure. And the men of the west quickly buy into that concept. I can have my cake and eat it too! Our governmental philosophies and programs are bent to fit that mold. It’s all about me and the squeaky wheel gets the grease - the government funding.

We are unwilling to change. So Western Civilization and its champion the United States teeters on the brink, our prosperity deluding us into believing that the ash heap of history that has claimed every other culture that has lost its moral compass can somehow be bribed. May God awaken His people once again to boldly and fearlessly proclaim the Name that is above every name and to walk wholeheartedly in the ways of Jesus Christ the Lord, for it’s still possible to see and experience the revival we desperately need. American Christians awake to the sound of the trumpet of God. Let’s be doers of His word and labor while the light still shines!
