Bridgeport Remembers the Least of These

Around 50 precious brothers and sisters in the Lord gathered today in Jesus' name. The mounted police were there on horses to help keep everyone safe and orderly. Bridgeport has some of the best police in the country. They did a great job.

Our purpose on the streets is to proclaim the Gospel and make a statement that we are against the killing of innocent little boys and girls. It was a brisk snowy morning - not too cold or windy. It was bearable for us, but not for those being drawn to the slaughter. January 22 will be 36 years that we have allowed legal baby killing in our country. Over 50 million children have been murdered.

Today a pro-abortion president was sworn into office. Barack Obama has promised Planned Parenthood he will get rid of all restrictions on abortion (FOCA) and allow free abortions through government funding. Barack forgets he was once in the womb of a single mom with a dad that did not want him. His mom did not abort him and he has grown up to become the president of the United States.

After the hearse pulled up with the baby casket, Daniel Artur Eldredge, my nephew, led the funeral procession with his bagpipes and outfit on. He is only seven years old and understands the wickedness of abortion more than most adults do. We were so proud of him. Kelly Vazquez, Colbi Rowland, Anthony Carroll and Justin Phillips were pall bearers. Bob Lewis played TAPS on his harmonica. (It was almost too cold to play it). Then Pastor Miller led with prayer and the purpose of this event (press conference).

We had nine pastors present that I knew about :
Pastor Miller, Gospel Light,Bridgeport
Pastor Pedro Vazquez, Bridgeport
Pastor Bob Hoyt, Living Springs, Seymour
Pastor Dave McIntyre, Calvary, Trumbull
Pastor Jim Loomer, Berean AOG, Milford
Pastor Rich Flashman, Beacon Hill, Monroe
Pastor Bob Butkus, Christ the King, Naugatuck
Pastor Scott Warner, The Bridge, Bridgeport
Pastor Mike Hawkins, Bridgeport

Sylvia and Linda from Hopeline CPC prayed. Carmen and I spoke a bit about our ministry.
My sister Nancy shared some words from her heart about adoption:

The Russian word for thank you is Ñïàñèáî  “Spasiba”
In early 2001, a petite dark haired woman living in St. Petersburg, Russia, learned she was expecting her fourth child.  In a country where abortion is free and common, this mom of few means chose life for her child. I cannot imagine the difficult days she encountered during that time. I do not know the struggles she faced. But I do know that her decision for life was the act of a hero who defied the odds.

There is very little I know about my son’s birth mother. In October of that year she gave birth at the Maternity Hospital to an under weight little boy.  It must have been difficult to say good bye to him there. No matter how much you prepare, you are never prepared. There must have been great love and great faith in her. Each time I look at Daniel and see his compassion for others, I know I am seeing her in him. I see her smile. I see her strong character. I see a breathing choice of love.  And every day I thank her for the precious life of my son.  Ñïàñèáî “Spasiba”!

Brenda then passed out the carnations to place on the baby casket as we said goodbye to the precious babies killed by abortion. Someday we will be with them in Heaven. We met afterwards for a breakfast at White's Diner and we had a birthday cake for Brian, one of the saved children that just turned three. He was there with him mom and brother. About Operation Rescue/Operation Save America
Operation Rescue/Operation Save America unashamedly takes up the cause of preborn children in the name of Jesus Christ. We employ only biblical principles. The Bible is our foundation; the Cross of Christ is our strategy; the repentance of the Church of Jesus Christ is our ultimate goal. As the Church changes its heart toward unborn children, God Himself will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and bring healing to our land.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only answer to the abortion holocaust. It is upon our active repentance in the streets of our cities that the Gospel is visibly lived out. We become to the church, to our city, and to our nation living parables which rightly represent God's heart toward His helpless children.

There are no cheap political solutions to the holocaust presently ravaging our nation. Like slavery before it, abortion is preeminently a Gospel issue. The Cross of Christ is the only solution.
