WHERE HAVE ALL THE CHRISTIANS GONE?
By Kristin Wilson
The Lord is my Shepherd, my Refuge and my Strength. Because He has done so much for me, I will try to do so much for Him. I will become as a disciple and go out to the ends of the earth proclaiming His name. I will witness to the broken and stand up for the oppressed. I will live a life completely dedicated to Him. I will do all these things that He commanded of me and more, unless it seems to get in the way of more important things and interferes with my personal time or seems to be a little bit controversial, or politically incorrect. I also don’t want to be inconvenienced at all, and I surely don’t want to be judged by others or called crazy and made fun of. I’ll stick to the more popular ideas, like contributing money to the poor and feeding the hungry in Africa, possibly building a house for the homeless and filling a baby bottle full of change for a Crisis Women‘s Center, and I’ll even donate a dollar to the United Way so my office can claim 100% participation. I’ll consider joining the prison ministry at Church, and I’ll visit the elderly in the hospital at Christmas. I’ll do all these things for the glory of Jesus Christ, but please don’t approach me with abortion.
36 years of abortion was mourned on Thursday, January 22nd 2009. Over 50 million abortions have taken place since this infamous triumph of the anti-life movement in the Roe v. Wade case in 1973. Let me repeat: 50,000,000!! Fifty Million babies dead and counting. Maybe you can’t grasp the magnitude of this number, so let me make this simplistic. According to CNN.com, there have been approximately 4,228 Americans killed in the war in Iraq since it began in 2003. There are about 4,400 Americans killed every day in the United States by way of abortion. Did you get that? On average there are more American citizens killed in the United States of America daily at the hands of their own mother than soldiers in war territory in 6 years. The country that boast the three inalienable rights of “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” is responsible for more deaths than the Civil War, Vietnam War and Holocaust combined.
So, where have all the Christian’s gone?
In a world that celebrates unity of diversification and expects us to “co-exist”, it might be hard to remember that there are still many Christians out there, but the fact is Christianity is still the largest “religion” currently in the United States . So, why then has this Holocaust of American citizens lasted so long? If, in fact, we still make up the majority of the religious faith, how has this travesty plagued out society for so long? Are we being overpowered by the dark principalities? Is the devil responsible for the millions of silent screams let out by these unborn? Is all of this Margaret Sanger, the racist founder of Planned Parenthood’s, fault?
Absolutely not. It is completely, utterly the fault of the Church of Jesus Christ ! We sit back and we do nothing. We turn our heads and don’t get involved. We ignore the issue and focus our time on more accepted avenues of discipleship. Standing up for the unborn is not a calling! Just because you are involved with helping children in Africa does not give you the right to ignore the slaughter of an innocent child. If in 1994 a woman named Susan Smith admitted to you that she was tired of being a mother and no longer wanted her two young children, and therefore she was choosing to drown them in her Mazda Protégé, would you not then be inclined to act quickly to save the lives of these babies? As her confidante, would the complete responsibility not then be on your shoulders to notify authority, restrain her, or even take her children from her to keep her from causing serious injury and killing them? Yes, and I think we can all agree that if you did nothing, you would be just as responsible as Susan for the murder of these two innocent babies. So, why do you believe that the slaughter of the not-yet born is any different?
Rev. Flip Benham is unafraid to preach the controversial truth. After all, isn’t Jesus himself controversial? Flip Benham stands up for the unborn and he calls others to do the same. On Thursday, we gathered in the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina to call upon Christian’s everywhere to get involved. To my dismay, only a very few churches were represented at this Memorial Service. As a Christian, we are to go out and make disciples of all the nations. We are to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and proclaim His name. We are willing to visit a prison, but not willing to show up at an abortion mill. Why? The women who come to these killing clinics are weak, vulnerable, and in need of help. They are sick. They need to hear about Jesus!! Why would we stay in the pulpit and in our pews and not go to the ends of the earth where we know for certain unsaved people will be coming? Didn’t Jesus say He came for the sick? The sick are showing up all over the United States daily to abortion mills. Where is a better place to be like Jesus and offer healing to a sick woman, minutes from murdering her own baby? Have we all fallen in to the world’s lie of choice? Don’t be deceived, and don’t turn your head for the Bible says:
"If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?." Proverbs 24:11-12

We must hit the streets with our message of life, love and Jesus. We must take this stand, here and now. We are no longer afforded the right to be a “chicken-Christian”. With the most pro-abortion president elected in our time, who is already making decisions to further the pro-abortion agenda, we must do something now. The world is not on our side. The Bible clearly tells us to be different than the world. The media is not our friend. The media will not cover something so controversial. There were no reporters at our Memorial Service in Charlotte on Thursday. The media of the March for Life in Washington was miniscule. If there was coverage of the reality of abortion, perhaps more people would be involved. Hey, Fox News Edge Charlotte, here’s your Edgy story for tonight: Over 12,000 babies killed in Mecklenburg in 2006! Over 10,000 babies killed in Mecklenburg in 2007!

At this moment I want to challenge Churches all over the United States to become involved! It is time we no longer live according to this world, but instead live according to Jesus Christ. In Charlotte, North Carolina there are 3 killing clinics. They are open from around 9am to 5pm, Monday - Friday, and 8am to 1pm or later on Saturday. Central Church of God, Northside Baptist Church, Calvary Church, West Cabarrus Church and all the other churches worshipping the Son of God….will you join us? Will you join us to pray, to witness, to ask Jesus to save a life? In 2008, there were 161 confirmed babies saved from the grips of death in Mecklenburg County alone, all because someone showed up. Someone cared enough about these women and their babies to take time from their day and follow the way of Jesus, and because of this obedience, 161 babies will get to play, and grow, and live, and one day hear about the glorious work of our Savior Jesus Christ!!
Please do not hesitate any longer, because sooner than you know I will be writing a column about 100 million babies dead!
Children are a gift from the Lord;
they are a reward from him.
