Hate Crimes – How They Voted
Donna Gardner with foreword by Rev. Flip Benham • 5/2/2009

"Who Voted for U. S. House Hate Crimes Bill?  Rep. Chet Edwards for One"Donna Garner

4.30.09

Yesterday (4.29.09) the U. S.  House, pressured by Obama, passed the Hate Crimes bill.  (The vote totals are posted below.)   HR 1913 creates special protections for people based upon their sexual behavior, gender identity, or disabilities.  This law applies to any local or state crime.  If a person were found guilty of a “hate crime,” he would face punishment above and beyond the original offense.

The Democrats refused to define “sexual orientation” in the law and also refused the exclusion of certain bizarre sexual activities.  HR 1913 clears the way for people who practice perverse sexual activities to be a specially protected class under federal law.

The bill includes actions "motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived..."

To see a list of the sexual activities that would be protected under HR 1913, please go to Paraphilias: Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, American Psychiatric Association, c. 2000, pp. 566-582, (http://www.afa.net/sexualorientations.asp).

Our own Congressman, Chet Edwards, voted for HR 1913.  I am ashamed to say he represents our district.

About Operation Rescue/Operation Save America
Operation Rescue/Operation Save America unashamedly takes up the cause of preborn children in the name of Jesus Christ. We employ only biblical principles. The Bible is our foundation; the Cross of Christ is our strategy; the repentance of the Church of Jesus Christ is our ultimate goal. As the Church changes its heart toward unborn children, God Himself will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and bring healing to our land.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only answer to the abortion holocaust. It is upon our active repentance in the streets of our cities that the Gospel is visibly lived out. We become to the church, to our city, and to our nation living parables which rightly represent God's heart toward His helpless children.

There are no cheap political solutions to the holocaust presently ravaging our nation. Like slavery before it, abortion is preeminently a Gospel issue. The Cross of Christ is the only solution.
