Repent America Director, Michael Marcavage, who knows first-hand the serious dangers associated with the so-called "hate crimes" laws, states, "Such legislation is completely unnecessary, unconstitutional and ungodly. The federal 'hate crimes' bill will do nothing more than frame mischief by a law by ushering in the persecution of Christians nationwide. The bill seeks to shut down the message of hope and freedom from homosexuality through Jesus Christ by criminalizing Christians who reach out in the love of God to those trapped in its bondage."

Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas, Director of Elijah Ministries states, "Homosexuals came out of the closet and they are using the coercive force of civil government to force Christianity into one. America will learn the hard way that you cannot make straight what God has called crooked. You cannot tolerate what God deems intolerable. You cannot turn moral wrongs into civil rights and thrive as a people. S.909 promotes governmental hatred towards God, saving faith, family, and freedom. If signed by President Obama, the church of Jesus Christ will be guilty as heaven and our government will be innocent as hell!"

Flip Benham, National Director of Operation Rescue/Operation Save America, declares, "The decriminalization of child-killing (abortion) has brought about the criminalization of those who would oppose it. The decriminalization of homosexuality has brought about the criminalization of those who would oppose it. Now we have the S. 909 bill, which expressly forbids any language that might be perceived as 'hate' by the homosexual community. This makes illegal every word in the Bible that describes the destruction wrought by this vile behavior. If we do not act decisively at this time, S. 909 will indeed become the law of the land. It will prepare the way for the total censorship of the Gospel of Christ.  Our children will have to pay a horrible price to make up for our cowardice at this juncture of our nation's history."
