Thank ya, Thank ya, Thank ya!
Chet Gallagher with foreword by Rev Flip Benham 8/7/2009
Dear OSA Family,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! What an absolute joy it was for my wife JoAnn and I to have you here with us in Las Vegas during this most amazing National Event. Jesus was glorified, many were saved and babies scheduled to die were rescued with their mothers, too! Street ministry in Las Vegas was taken to a new level and thanks to all of you “What Happened in Vegas Got Exposed in Vegas!” And what was that…exactly?
Child killing was graphically exposed for what it is as we took the horrible reality of baby Malachi’s murder everywhere in this international city. We witnessed upon the overhead pedestrian walkways between mega hotel casinos like the one going from Caesar’s Palace to the Bellagio. With tracts, prayer and voices amplified from portable sound systems Jesus was preached and sin was exposed to thousands of pedestrian passers-by from all over the world.
At the Fremont Street Experience (the old downtown casino section) Jesus cleared the way for us to setup Tom Raddel’s amazing “Justice for the Unborn” display depicting the horrors and the demonic links between racism, genocide and baby murder. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals had just recently (Mar 20th) ruled 16 city ordinances unconstitutional that were intended to make this central Las Vegas Tourist area a “Gospel Free” zone. So we went there, some days 24 hours, with our sound systems loudly announcing Jesus was still Lord of Lords, abortion was murderous sin and inviting people to be saved!
We also held a public memorial service for Baby Abel, an aborted child that began with a bagpipe funeral procession at “high noon” down the middle of Fremont Street to the display. We sang and prayed and Christine O’Dell shared powerfully about her own abortion and more.
Abortion mills that previously had felt “untouchable” being private property were not only surrounded but some adjoining businesses allowed us access upon their property to put us within reach of the babies scheduled to die. We even sat in the courtyard of a coffee shop with their patio adjoining Planned Parenthood’s as we preached against their murderous agenda.
There was not one, not a single instance, of any police abuse or bias. In fact, they went out of their way in every situation to protect AND encourage our presence as far as it could be allowed. All three police jurisdictions were not only professional but gracious. It was quite miraculous.
Local volunteers stepped up to the plate to help with some of the most amazing lunches we’ve ever had at out events. One day they even served chocolate covered strawberries for desert! Water was donated and one church gave us 1200 bottles of Gatorade!
Three churches hosted our nightly rallies and both Bro Bill and Cal Zastrow were invited to preach in two local churches. Senior Pastor Rob Boyd of Green Valley Baptist attended 4 rallies and joined us on the streets as well.
There was so much more and so much to be thankful for. If you were here you witnessed all or most of these events first hand. There are many people to thank, especially Jesus and you, of course for coming. But now I need your help. I want you to help me thank many people and even the churches and agencies, too. So I am providing a list of those below. Often in times past we have had to complain due to the mistreatment and bias by church leaders, media, police and business professionals. Here, quite amazingly, I am pleased to ask you to spend a couple bucks on stamps and write your best letters to those amazing “Sin City Dwellers” whom God used to fulfill our mandate in Ephesians 5:11: “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness but rather expose them.” We did that. Jesus helped us to do so with excellence. These people helped us to do so, too. Will you please thank them for us. Your many thank you cards and letters will go a long way to keep the battle raging successfully here in our International City where sin indeed abounds, but where you witnessed grace abounding all the more.
So here is who they are with a sentence or two about how they helped. PLEASE! Please do this for us.
Pastor Rob Boyd, Sr. Pastor Green Valley Baptist 270 N Vale Verde Dr. Henderson, NV, 89074 who hosted our first four rallies, joined us when he could on the street and allowed Bro Bill to preach Sunday. He wants to adopt the only abortion mill in his city, Nevada Women’s. Pastor Greg Massanari, Sr. Pastor (ours) at CornerStone Christian Fellowship 5825 West Eldora Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89146. They hosted our Sunday rally but also provided the Leaders’ luncheon and the PersonHood USA Regional Conference Seminars on Saturday.
Pastor Randy Greer, (Ken and Sharon Wilson’s Pastor) Trinity Life Center 1000 E Saint Louis Ave Las Vegas, NV 89104. They hosted our last 2 rallies and Pastor Greer has adopted the Birth Control Care Center across from First Choice.
Father Ren, Sr. Pastor St Viator’s 2461 E Flamingo Rd Las Vegas, NV 89121. They hosted us for lunch in their Parish hall for two hours every hot afternoon.
Pam Caylor, Director and Olaf Ovancura, President First Choice Pregnancy Services 860 E Sahara Ave # 1 Las Vegas, NV 89104. They worked tirelessly with us in preparation for and during this event. Because we had a place to send the moms babies were saved!
Mr. Tim Miller, Owner, ReJAVAnate Coffee Lounge 3300 E. Flamingo Las Vegas, NV 89121. Tim, now being threatened with a boycott from his evil neighbor, Planned Parenthood, not only set out more tables next to PP for our people on Tuesday afternoon (our final venue for the week) but said he had been “praying for Christians to come.” Tell him OSA Las Vegas will be promoting “ReJAVAnate” as the place for every Christian to go for their coffee and small group meetings.
Michael and Jody Limon c/o Women’s Resource Center 2915 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 1
Las Vegas, NV 89102. Jody was the gal who coordinated those great lunches you had at St. Viator’s. She and Michael are on board with PersonHood and more, and are personal friends. Kathleen Miller, Director Living Grace Home email: kmlivinggracehome@gmail.com send her an e-mail thanking her for coordinating volunteers to serve lunch and for the $300 food donation, too she obtained for us to kick off those great lunches.
Dale Davidson, General Manager KEEN TV 7175 N Durango Dr., Ste. 210 Las Vegas, NV 89149. One of our greatest advocates. Thank Dale for his vision and the many, many hours of labor of his camera crewmen who covered so much and never complained once of being in the heat of battle with all of us.
The following agencies should be thanked by you in your own words:
Clark County Director of Public Works ATTN: Mr. Russell Davis, Community Relations 500 Grand Central Parkway Las Vegas NV 89155-4000 (He paved the way for our initial police contacts and access to the overpasses.)
Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) ATTN: Southern NV Deputy Director Rudy Malfabon, 123 E. Washington Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89101 (This is the official for the overpasses we will go to next. Encourage him to help as the other agencies have.) Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department ATTN: Sheriff Doug Gillespie 400 East Stewart Las Vegas NV 89101. Thank the Sherriff for taking the time to personally view our display on Fremont Street. Commend his officers, especially Sgt Raymond Reyes the on duty Fremont Street Police Sergeant who was amazing and extremely professional and helpful last week.
North Las Vegas Police Department ATTN: Chief of Police Joseph Forti 1301 E Lake Mead Blvd North Las Vegas, NV 89030-7117 Commend his officers, especially if you were at Dr. Silvers at the North Las Vegas North Vista Medical Center.
Henderson Police Department ATTN: Deputy Chief James White PO Box 95050 Henderson, Nevada 89009-5050 Commend his officers’ professional response to our presence at the following locations: Central Christian Church on Sunday, St Rose Dominican Hospital where Abortionist Gatlin is on staff and at Gatlin’s NV Women’s abortion mill on Wigwam and Pecos.
Dody Bateson, City of Las Vegas Clark County, Nevada Gillespie 400 East Stewart Las Vegas NV 89101. Dody helped us process our application for Tom Raddel’s display on Fremont Street. Though a permit was never required her assistance in the process may well have opened doors for us now and in the future. She was very kind and helpful.
Executive Board, Fremont Street Experience LLC 425 Fremont St., Las Vegas, NV 89101, You may think it strange to thank them considering their disclaimer and some “sound issues” during the memorial service but actually they could have made it more difficult had they chosen to actively oppose us. You might consider thanking them with words like, “We understand you did not approve or endorse our display, still, for the most part, you respected our freedoms of religious expression, freedom of speech and freedom of press and for that we are grateful.” Please commend John Ruffner their Director of Security (and pray for his salvation, too.) So if you enjoyed being a part of what God has done this past week, will you please take “Project Thank You” to heart? A box of 20 nice thank you cards and $5-$6 in postage will go a long way to help ongoing efforts here. A thank you letter from Ken Wilson or JoAnn and I would be accepted and well received, but from MANY of you, it would go so much further! This would serve us well here as we strive to build a strong ministry base, in the next few weeks, upon the Cornerstone of Jesus, you helped lay in our city.
