Mary Landrieu, a pro-choice Senator from Louisiana, held her Town Hall Meeting on Healthcare in Reserve, LA, a little rural town about an hour outside of New Orleans.  We felt led to go and stand against this "Health" Care Bill that would allow such atrocities as abortion, assisted suicide, and healthcare rationing. 

We arrived at least two hours early and took our stand on the corner where everyone going in would have to pass us.  Elaina Short, Ron Dewey, and a few members of our church and Brother Bill's church actually went into the meeting.  I really felt led to stand at the entrance with my children and greet all those who arrived. 

After being there about an hour, Senator Landrieu's vehicle pulled up right next to me and my Baby Malachi sign.  Her car had to stop right next to me and I watched her look at my signs and then she looked straight at me with a "shocked half-smile" on her face.  I smiled and waved at her and she waved back.  I now knew why the Lord wanted us to stand there! 

Inside the Town Hall Meeting, there was a blanket of "Abortion is not Healthcare" signs ... we outnumbered those for abortion by approximately a 10:1 ratio!  The local news media reported, "A large portion of this group is against government funded abortion."  Outside there were a handful of those expressing their disagreement with our stand (and our signs) but the majority were pro-life and came over just to say "God bless you" and thank us for being there! 

Levi (4 years old) would ask people as they passed, "Do you love Jesus?" and if they said yes, he would give them a flyer about abortion and the healthcare bill!  Several came over (after seeing Baby Malachi's picture) in shock over what an abortion looks like and were upset that this goes on in America!

I was able to share with them about the abortion clinics in Metairie and New Orleans and invited them to come join us in ministering to the women and saving the babies. 

When the meeting was over, Brother Ron Dewey and Elaina Short came and joined us with more signs at the exit of the parking lot so that we could continue to expose the truth of abortion.  Jonathan crossed the driveway at one point and minutes later Senator Landrieu's car came out of the gate.  Due to the heavy traffic, once again her car had to stop and this time she was next to Jonathan and his baby Malachi sign (along with a sign that said "Abortion is not healthcare!"). 

Once again I watched the "shocked half-smile" on her face as she looked at Baby Malachi.  I pray that his picture stirs her heart and opens her eyes to the truth of abortion and that her "pro-choice" belief is, in reality, "pro-death" for the preborn baby.  I pray she sees that and allows the Spirit of God to transform her heart!
