German Pastors Travel to Washington for "Islam On Capitol Hill" Event

When I heard of this event, I knew there had to be a Christian witness in Washington on that day. This would be an unprecedented event in our nation's history. The call was for 50,000 Muslims to descend on Washington and make the proclamation:  "There is no God but Allah, and his prophet is Mohammad." Evidently there were many other Christians who shared my feelings.
 
Throughout the day I was blessed to meet people from all over that came to pray with the same burden for their country. I met a woman from Texas who stood in disbelief as she witnessed this event. With tears streaming down her cheeks she told me that she and two friends drove from Texas just to be there. I met a former Muslim from Iran who is now an on-fire, born-again Christian who came to be a witness to the Muslims. He was excited to see a contingency from OSA there in our red t-shirts exalting Christ!
 
I met Sam, a postal worker, who is originally from Ghana that came down on his lunch hour to pray. We met each other in passing and immediately felt the kindred Spirit of Christ drawing us together. We quoted scripture together and glorified the Lord as we had REVIVAL in an unlikely place. I met Lorenzo, a street preacher from Seattle, that stood hour after hour proclaiming Jesus to the Muslims with his deep resonant voice.
 
There were others I could mention, but the two that humbled and blessed me the most were two pastors from Germany, Guido and Frank. They actually serve the same church: one is the pastor and the other is the youth pastor. They, too, heard about "Islam On Capitol Hill" and heard the voice of God calling them to come to Washington to pray. With a burden for a great nation for which they have much respect, these two men of God purchased their tickets and made there way to America.
 
The most humbling aspect of meeting these two men was how they thanked us (America as a nation) for being a true friend to Germany after the war. Their country was a wreck and they said: "Had it not been for America we would not be a nation today. Thank you!" Here they were thanking us when I felt compelled to thank them for sacrificing so much to come pray for America and stand with us for Jesus Christ on this historic day.
 
As we shared fellowship on the street corner, these men spoke words of encouragement and faith. They understood something many Americans have forgotten or perhaps never learned in the first place. These men understood the Divine calling of God upon this nation. These men understood that we are a nation, who is losing her way allowing the reality of this Divine call to slip through her fingers and from her memory. These men understood that America is a "city set on a hill" and our light has burned brightly for the cause of Christ from our foundation.
 
These men believe there is hope for America to once again lift high this banner. These men understand that prayer and Holy Ghost revival is the key for America to find her way back. These were the reasons they felt compelled to come and pray for our nation while the Muslims were making their proclamation about the false god Allah as it echoed off our National Monuments.
 
As I listened to these two men of God pray for America, I wept. I was humbled by their love and concern for us. I was blessed to meet two such men who share such a great passion for the Lord Jesus and a nation that isn't theirs. We, the people of the United States, are the real trustees of this nation. With the same fortitude and faith our forefathers exhibited in establishing this land, we can restore the foundations and re-establish this nation as a guardian of true liberty.
 
I pray the complacent American church so full of apathy finds her way back to her knees and experiences Holy Ghost revival fires once again. Allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ is our only hope of survival as a nation and I hope we awake from our slumber to this realization before it's too late! Many thanks to Guido and Frank, our German counterparts, for reminding us of this truth.
