Gospel Outreach Brings The Light Of Jesus To Those Who Sit In The Darkness Of Islam
Dave Lackey, OSA Alabama, Ron Martin and Jeff Christman from Connecticut team up with Tony Ghareeb from Arabic Bible Baptist Church in Burke Virginia and his team of saints to bring the Gospel of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ to the lost in Islam.
New York Muslims were holding their 24th Annual United American Muslim Day Parade on October 18th. The parade started out at E. 41st Street, they marched down Madison Ave., to E. 26th Street. They had a food bazaar and a stage set up for guest speakers at the end of Madison Ave. The parade had about 500 marchers and very few people lining the streets to watch.
We all met at Madison Square Park on 26th Street, to pick up booklets and DVD’s to pass out. The material was excellent, the two DVDs were the Jesus movie in several languages including Arabic and Farsi, and the other was about converts from Islam to Christianity giving their testimony on how Jesus came and spoke to them and about how they received Him as LORD and Savior. The booklets were the Gospel of John in Arabic, John and Roman’s printed in both English and Arabic.
We started out at the beginning of the parade route and passed out literature and the DVD’s. We had the opportunity to talk with the event organizers and some Imam’s before the start of the parade. When we were passing out the information in the tent they had set up one of them asked if we can get out of “their area and go down the street”. I turned to a gentleman who heard us talking and commented, “First the street corner, then the street and then the whole nation,” if we are not careful. Dave had a great conversation with a Muslim gentleman, and walked with him along the parade route.
When the parade was over they gathered at the end of Madison Ave. for a rally and food. There we had the opportunity to hand out literature. We had many great conversations. Some of the people we talked to wanted to hear the Gospel message; they really wanted to hear about our LORD and Savior. In Islam they don’t have a true understanding of sin, so they do not know they need a savior. The followers of Islam live in total darkness, they cannot see the light, but praise be to God, the faithful saints of Christ brought them the message of hope and light. God was truly lifted up and glorified, as His message of salvation was heard and prayerfully planted into the hearts of the people at the parade.
