From Pam Caylor...
If you happened to see my posts Monday evening, you know I spent the majority of my evening in the ER with a young woman who had an abortion started on her 5 month baby in her uterus, but almost immediately, realized it was the greatest mistake of her young life.
Baby "Nehemiah," (Nehemiah means "Comforted by Yahweh"), just 5 months old, was scheduled to be executed just 15 hours ago. But, King Jesus stepped in and stayed the execution!
My friend had gotten word that the execution of baby Nehemiah was to take place on Tuesday morning. But early Monday morning, King Jesus let my friend know in her heart that something fishy was going on. Planning to go and visit with her young friend about her decision, she missed her by a mere 10 minutes! Still hoping for the best, she went on over, knocked on the door and found - to her horror - that it was too late. Indeed, they had gone to the abortion clinic. "We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand -- and melting like a snowflake." (Marie Beyon Ray)
My friend called me to tell me that she had missed her friend and I told her, "It isn't too late. They can reverse the procedure if the baby's heart has not been injected first to stop it. Get over to that abortion clinic and try to talk to her." Shortly thereafter, we found out that they had already begun the procedure.
My friend went to the clinic anyway. Just as she was pulling down the street, she saw her friend's car pulling out. Heart racing, she watched as the car pulled over in front of the abortion clinic. My friend parked down the street and headed toward her friend's car. But, it was just the person who had brought her. My friend went over and talked with that person. Wow, seems they are willing to talk. Wow, seems they are willling to step aside if Nehemiah's mommy decides she wants to try to keep the baby. Next, the nurse comes out and instructs the person to move the car to retrieve the girl. My friend walks away. But wait, maybe she'll talk. My friend turns around and goes back. Immediately, Nehemiah's mommy confesses that she did not want the abortion - she just felt it was the only choice she had!
My friend assured her that this could be reversed. She says she doesn't feel well and she wants to go home. They leave. My friend leaves too. I set about trying to find a doctor who will intervene and save these two lives. MONUMENTAL TASK. After many "No's" and some other road blocks, we take another prayer break - even though literally, we've been praying all day. Within a couple of minutes two different doctors have said they will take her for the removal of the dilators and then pre-natal care! The next call is from my friend letting me know that Nehemiah's mommy is ready to reverse the death decree! She is taking her to the ER. I will meet them there.
Over the next couple hours we battle the demons of death and murder. Even though I battle demons of death and murder all day, every day, THIS was a new level for me! In a Christian hospital - and still we are fighting hard to get action!
But remember, King Jesus has already made His decision. This execution WILL be stayed!
I found out tonight that I am in the "Marines," because they not only STAND and FIGHT, but they CHASE DOWN and ATTACK their enemies! Rarely on the defense, more often on the offense. That would be me ... when it comes to protecting "the least among us!"
It took some courage and an unwillingness to accept anything but life, but the laminaria was removed and the cramping stopped and Nehemiah's mommy was filled with peace and hope! Immediately she felt much better. Now, 28 hours past the removal of the dilators, the entire situation seems to have turned for the better! SUDDENLY, excitement and anticipation fills the air and conversations in the home, anticipation of a new baby and a new life. A life that, all who are involved know, King Jesus thought so precious that He personally intervened for.
Waiting 48 hours until an exam can be done feels like a very long time!
Please remember Nehemiah and his Mommy in your prayers. This battle is still being fought - moment to moment. God has a plan for everyone - always. But I cannot help but wonder in a situation like this...just how big is God's plan for THIS baby?
