We were blessed to have Mark Cahill with us this weekend. He is an internationally known author and evangelist. He came into Connecticut on Thursday afternoon and started ministering on the streets with us Friday morning at the Summit Abortuary on 3787 Main Street, Bridgeport. It was a cold windy morning, the coldest yet this fall. Figures! Mark is from Atlanta and not used to much cold weather, but he survived. He is in the picture above with my granddaughter Colbi and her two friends Ashley(9) and Rachel(12). Mark was so blessed to see the young ones out trying to save little boys and girls that are sentenced to die. We need to train our kids to love their neighbors as themselves. Thirty pro-lifers came out including three pastors (Les Young, Pedro Vazquez and Bob Hoyt).
Fourteen women went in at killing time, three turned away and left (we don't know why?) One couple changed their mind. When this couple was going in the young man was acting very disrespectful. At one point he came out and went to the corner to get a Subway. Carmen and Jennie tried to talk to him. Mark Cahill went in after him and he said he just wanted to be left alone. Mark said nothing about the abortion, just told him that Jesus said "its better to give than receive" so Mark paid for his food even though the young dad did not really want him to. The young man got tears in his eyes and went back into the killing center he had a totally different demeanor than before.
A gentle answer turns away wrath.
Come to find out, after we left, the couple left and told Stan that they changed their minds.
Please keep praying for them.
Friday after school, Mark was invited to West Haven High School to the Christian Encounter club. There were about thirty there. Mark told them about how he spoke to many famous people like Alex Rodrigues, Tiger Woods, Vanilla Ice, and Philadelphia Phillies chapel during World Series time. Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino and others were there. He asked them what would matter "100 years from now". It wouldn't matter if they won back to back World Series, it wouldn't matter if they were black or white, rich or poor. The only thing that really matters is do you know who Jesus Christ is and what are you going to do for Him? The students shared their beliefs on God, Heaven and Hell. Some had even been involved in devil worship and atheism. They were hungry to know truth and wanted the books and discs by Mark Cahill.
Friday night we were off to Mahanian Church on Summit Street in Bridgeport. There was an interpreter for those who only understood Spanish. Colbi and Kelly were asked to go up and sing with Ms Lisa and we all had a great time in the Lord. We thank Pastor Hirem and Hector and Jennie for helping with this.
Saturday we went to the state headquarters of Planned Parenthood of Connecticut. The climate there is much different than Bridgeport. The people are much harder there. We've been in Bridgeport ministry for twenty years and have broken up the hard ground that was once there. The police and the people there know us and know what we do. Many resources have been given out. We have helped many moms with their needs. We also try to disciple them so they do not commit the same sins over again (repentance).

Mark Cahill had the opportunity to reach out to these moms going in for abortions. He asked them if they were glad their moms chose life for them, and they all said "yes". So he said, "I hope your baby can say the same." He had the opportunity to converse with a Yale professor and numerous students in the Yale campus neighborhood. Twenty-one Christians came out to the streets to preach the good news to every creature! Lots of Mark's books and tracts were given out. As we drove out of that area Mark wanted to stop and check out a building and he went in a little park and spoke to some needy people and gave to them. When we left Brenda, who was driving behind us saw the woman put her head down into her hands.
You see Mark reinforced the two reasons we are here:
1) To make Jesus well known.
2) To make Jesus look good.
Saturday afternoon we were off the Pastor Goodall's church - Haven of Rest on Campbell Ave. in West Haven. Mark did a superb presentation on the above two topics. The church was full and many were charged to teach the things Jesus taught us. We have the power to do this through the Holy Spirit. Saturday night Mark did an awesome power point for the youth and young adults at Calvary Life Christian Center in Cheshire.
We thank Pastor John and Carmela, Pastor Bob and PJ for their hospitality.
Sunday morning we were guests at Gospel Light Community Church in Bridgeport. Pastor Pedro Vazquez and Pastor James Miller were both there to welcome Mark. The church was full. The congregation was very receptive and excited about what they heard. The youth all gathered around Mark after the service. A young man that goes to the methadone clinic near the mill came and was so glad he did. Brenda witnesses to him a lot and we gave him a Bible and Mark's book, One Heartbeat Away. He's been faithfully reading them and growing in the knowledge of our Lord. He spoke to Mark and was prayed over by Hector and Pastor Pedro for hepatitis.

God is just so awesome! Remember what Pastor Flip says "Just show up and see what God will do!" It is truly amazing how God goes above and beyond anything we can ever hope for or imagine. It is never boring to serve the Lord!
There was revival at the Courtyard Marriott where Mark Cahill stayed. He practically witnessed to every person there and gave them his books and had wonderful caring conversations with them. From Muslims, to rock bands, to workers to guests. Mark is truly one of a kind, and a great role model for all of us. You can see his videos on www.YouTube.comor go to www.MarkCahill.com
I thank God for putting him in our path at the Atlanta OSA National Event in 2008!
I know he will be back in Connecticut, we already have a list of new churches that want him.
150,000 people die everyday, do you care about these people? They can be your family, friends, neighbors, someone you see on the streets. Do you care enough to do something about it? Come join us Tuesday and Friday on 3787 Main St in Bridgeport 8 AM- 10 AM as we reach out to those who find themselves where they should not be. Saturdays we are at Planned Parenthood, 345 Whitney Ave. New Haven 8 AM- 10 AM. You will be very surprised how the Lord will use you when you take a step in faith and are obedient to the Biblical commands to preach the gospel to every creature and to rescue the innocent from slaughter.
For the Least of These,
Marilyn Carroll
