PLEASE DO NOT SIGN THE MANHATTAN DECLARATION UNTIL THE DOCTRINE OF DEMONS IS PURGED FROM IT!!!
Exceptions must never be allowed to be affirmed as "important and effective prolife laws" or allowed to be inserted in an otherwise potentially significant prolife document.
How can you sign onto a document that commends "requiring waiting periods for women seeking abortions, and parental notification for abortions performed on minors" by agreeing they are "important and effective prolife laws?" These are lies, remember?
"Christians of Good Conscience cannot vote "yay" on any "prolife pollution" (exceptions) even when tactfully tucked away amidst 4,600+ words of otherwise pretty good stuff. Oh, make no mistake; the majority of what is written is good and sound prolife/family doctrine. But Please! Prayerfully consider these words from the first paragraph under the "LIFE" heading in the Manhattan Declaration. Then ask yourself “What do they truly mean?”
"The President says that he wants to reduce the “need” for abortion—a commendable goal. But he has also pledged to make abortion more easily and widely available by eliminating laws prohibiting government funding, requiring waiting periods for women seeking abortions, and parental notification for abortions performed on minors. The elimination of these important and effective prolife laws cannot reasonably be expected to do other than significantly increase the number of elective abortions by which the lives of countless children are snuffed out prior to birth.”
These words expose the darkness and how deceived some “incrementalist anti-abortion Christians” have become. This declaration commends ungodly laws! This is wrong. Millions of American Christians have voted in favor of laws to reduce some abortions at the high cost of affirming the “abortion rights” to kill under other circumstances. The fact remains that this heresy, this “doctrine of incrementalism” has failed to achieve its goal. After more than for over 35 years and attempts in nearly every State of the Union to “chip away at abortion” we still “legally” murder innocent American children in every state as long as their residents of the womb.
Why are incremental bills evil? Well, after you wait 24 hours, for example, or after you get the preborn baby's grandparents to sign away the baby's right to live" ...THEN you can kill the baby! Wrong, friend! It is never right to kill a baby…no, not even to save some. Jesus came that “none should perish” but that all should have life and that more abundantly.
PLEASE call for a purging of the author’s incrementalist and exceptions heresy from this declaration. The only "commendable goal" is stopping abortion not “reducing the need for abortion.” Stop commending pro-aborts, especially the President. Is the author so naive that he doesn't know that Obama really has a pro-abortion agenda even beyond his own incrementalism? The abortions Obama approves (rape, incest, mom's life or health) would still remain “okay.” We can never allow abortion to be merely reduced to save some babies at the cost of allowing others to be butchered because they don’t fall into the President’s “reduction” (incremental/exceptions) policy.
Granted in a document this long any author is likely to say at least one stupid thing, but shame on him when he calls these signed death warrants "important and effective laws." In a declaration every word matters. Are you really reading before you sign? I am grieved so many Christian leaders are signing something this lengthy without really reading it and weighing all the doctrines being professed. The result is error and it must be exposed. ("Have NOTHING to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness but rather expose them." Eph 5:11)
PLEASE demand incrementalism be denounced; never declared "important and effective." This Manhattan Declaration is terribly flawed on how to protect life. Christians like you and me, who are being called to act upon conscience, should be pleading, as I am, that this "doctrine of demons" be removed post haste!
