Yoder's High School Witness
Emily Yoder with foreword by Rev Flip Benham 12/3/2009
Seven of us went out to the High School last Tuesday (others had planned to come, but could not make it). We arrived there about 2:30. Half of us were in front and half behind the school. The principal came out and told us we had to leave. Of course we told him we were on the public sidewalk and would stay there. He was not interested to read what we were planning to hand out, but he went back in and must have told the students not to take our literature as not many of them would take it, especially when he was watching. He and several others stood out there with us the whole time, trying to stand in such a way as to block our signs from view. Most of the bus drivers gave us a thumbs up as they drove by. We were able to hand out some of our literature to the students and handed out the rest in the surrounding neighborhood when we left the school. The picture that was in the paper in this link was taken just before we left the school. The only ones still there were the principal and two angry mothers who would not listen to anything we had to say. |
