Pastor Andrew Street Gives ‘Em Heaven in Ft. Wayne, Indiana
Pastor Andrew D. Street with foreword by Rev Flip Benham 2/8/2010
We held a press conference Friday morning, Jan 22, 2010, at the abortion clinic in Fort Wayne at 2210 Inwood Drive . A reporter from the Journal Gazette and another from Fox 55 WFFT showed up. Below is a copy of the statement delivered to the press:
We have gathered today to proclaim God’s judgment on our land for the sin of abortion.
We have not gathered to invoke judgment yet to come, but to declare that which is already happening!
Abortion is not a political issue or an academic discussion, it’s a moral evil!
Every Thursday morning the abortionist, George Klopfer, reaches into the private sanctuaries of unborn children. Without warning and without mercy he rips their arms and legs from their bodies, rips their heads from their torsos and, if the head is too large, he crushes it and removes it piecemeal.
This is utterly barbaric!
This is intolerable!
Yet we as a nation, as a state, and as a city have not only tolerated it, we have approved it!
37 years ago today the Supreme Court of the United States of America de-criminalized this barbarism. In that infamous Roe vs. Wade decision, they declared open season on defenseless unborn children from conception all the way up to birth!
Science has shown us that these precious babies have their own blood and circulatory systems. They have their own DNA. They have their own heartbeats and brain activity – and we have still tolerated and sanctioned this rotten evil! We have tolerated the intolerable! And we are still tolerating the intolerable! For that, our nation is being judged by Almighty God.
If I were to stand before you just ten years ago and tell you that our nation would be brought to our knees by a handful of men armed with box cutters, you’d think I was a religious fruitcake. But on September 11, 2001, it happened!
In just the recent few months, our nation has again been attacked by terrorists – one from Nigeria , and even one from our own army in Fort Hood , Texas ! These kinds of things have never happened before in our history. He who thinks that an organization as puny as Homeland Security can outfox God’s judgment is blind, deaf, and ridiculous!
Some will object to me by saying that God is a god of love. I wholeheartedly agree to that and affirm that. And because He is the God of love, He is necessarily the God of justice and will not allow the shedding of innocent blood to continue. No civilization in history has ever been able to tolerate the shedding of innocent blood and persist. Now in our 37 years of legalized homicide against the unborn we have brutally murdered more than 50,000,000 innocent children.
We’ve outdone Hitler’s holocaust against the Jews by nearly 9 to 1! And the greater tragedy is that we’re still counting! Just yesterday even more mothers went inside this mill to kill their babies!
God is the God of love and all through the scriptures He tells His people to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. All through the scriptures He commands us to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. All through the scriptures He says, “Remember the fatherless,” and He’s told us to care for the “least of these.” He’s said, “Rescue those being led away to death, those staggering toward slaughter, O hold them back (Prov. 24:11)!” But not only have we not rescued them, as a nation, as a state and as a city, we have killed them!
Yes, God is the God of love. He loves these precious little ones even when we don’t – and He’ll speak for them! When He does, it will be in just and righteous judgment! And we’re here to say that He is speaking – but most people aren’t listening!
We have kicked Christ out of the courts, out of Capitol Hill, and out of the classroom. We have replaced Him with metal detectors, counselors, and condoms in school colors. Our nation has told God that we can tolerate Him as long as He stays inside the four walls of the church.
We have essentially told God: “Leave the schools, the government and the economy to us. You stay put inside! Let us kill our children – my rights, my body, my choice. And we’ll see You in church on Sunday…maybe.”
But hear the Word of the Lord:
When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. Isaiah 1:15
As a nation, we’re finding out that if you sow murder in the womb, you’re going to reap it in the streets!
We’re gathered here today to repent and to call to repentance. We’re here today to declare our sorrow for allowing this gross evil to go on. We’re here today to pronounce the obvious: The loving God of the Bible cannot and will not tolerate this sin!
But we’re here also to extend redeeming grace. The end of the story is not yet written for George Klopfer, or for the employees of this murder mill, or for the mothers who are contemplating killing their child. No, not even for those mothers who have already killed their baby. Jesus is not willing that any should perish, but that all will come to repentance! His Word states:
"Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, 17 Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. 18 " Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool!” Isaiah 1:16-18
Nationally, we are in dark and dangerous times. God is judging our land. If we continue to tolerate the intolerable sin of abortion, God’s judgment is going to get worse! We have come to bring this city to awareness that God is judging our nation because we kill our young. We’ve come to say, “Enough! It’s time to quit this sin TODAY!”
But personally, grace is still available. You can be forgiven, cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and set free from all your guilt. We’ve come to offer help, real help, healing and hope through Jesus Christ. We’ve come to invite the city of Fort Wayne and its surrounding areas, and especially the pastors and churches in and around this “City of Steeples ” to stand up, stand out and speak against this intolerable wickedness! Fort Wayne, you cannot kill children with tranquility
