Letter to Pastors Concerning Personhood

 Dear Chet,
This is a great letter. It’s better than great. You have provided an instrument that should stir the church of Jesus Christ to its very core. We need more like this – many more letters like this to call the church to her original duty and destiny. To represent God and His will here on this earth. This is the Elijah Call – “the Lord, He is God!” Our nation is wavering between two opinions (the seed of the serpent v. the seed of the woman) as never before. 1Kings 18:21. We are desperately trying to broker a peace between the God of the Bible and the devil, little realizing that there can never be peace until the devil and his minions are crushed under the foot of the Church of Jesus Christ. There can be no peace, no reaching across the aisle, no common ground, no compromise, no cleverly crafted piece of legislation that will halt America’s moral and economic free fall. We are a nation at war with God Himself! Neither Republicans, Conservatives, Democrats, nor our vaunted Tea Party friends can fix this fall from God’s mercy and grace. I am talking about the mercy and grace that brought our Pilgrim Forefathers safely across the mighty Atlantic and gave our Founding Fathers victory over one of the mightiest nations on the earth at that time. We have turned our back on this friend and have become a nation under the judgment of Almighty God. His judgments are manifold and manifest in America as we watch our schools, workplaces, and streets being filled with bloodshed and rage. We are witnessing the systematic draining of American wealth. Our enemies are now ruling over us and there is little we can do but hope for the elections in 2010 and 2012. What a pitiful hope this is. We have a better report. America was birthed upon the fact that, “the Lord – He is God.” Who is this God? The Founding Fathers knew His Name. Their clarion call, “No King but King Jesus!” It is He that made this nation great and unparalleled in justice, resources, and might. We need the Elijah mantle to fall upon every pastor in our land. The Personhood Movement is God’s instrument to begin the repairing of the Lord’s altar which is in ruins in America (1Kings 18:30). It is a calling down of Holy Fire (1Kings 18:36-39) that the whole world may know that Jesus is Lord. The Personhood Movement unsheathes the Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) and allows God to do His awful yet awesome work. The Personhood Movement allows the Church of Jesus Christ to return to her rightful place to be the bastion of truth and vanguard storming the gates of hell. No more wavering between two opinions. Flip On the National Personhood Movement and the American Church: A Training Opportunity As a letter from the Alliance Defense Fund regarding the Missouri personhood initiative points out, “The truth is that federal tax law allows a church to spend at least 5% (in some cases, up to 20%) of its total resources on direct lobbying for legislation, which includes both ballot initiatives and referenda. This certainly includes the right of church leaders to urge their congregations to vote for life and in support of the Personhood Amendment. Plainly stated, there is nothing in federal tax law to prevent a pastor from directly telling the congregation to support legislation that the church believes to be beneficial to the community and that would uphold the sanctity of life." Re-criminalizing abortion is certainly a critical issue in this day. Consider stealing. It is both a sin and a crime, isn't it? Of course. The Church must see to it that all (not just some) abortions are "re-criminalized” in American and State Constitutional Law; not merely by pretentious, arbitrary and often tyrannical, judicial decision. Abortion on demand must once more become both a sin and a crime. That takes a confessing and even politically active church; a sadly formidable, but not impossible, task. It may even take your entire life's work. Just ask "Christian Statesman" William Wilberforce about the "holy tenacity" it took him (and a remnant of abolitionists) to end slavery in Great Britain. His tenacity resulted in protecting the millions of slaves through both "love AND law." Remarkably, with God's grace he did so without a civil war. Will the American Church be up to this "tenacious task" or will God's impending judgment result in something worse than the "War Between the States" this time? Local Churches are the critical key in ending abortion through the present political opportunity called "Personhood." Only the Church is empowered with the moral authority to do so. Abortion is and must remain forever a Gospel issue because it is sin. Here's both the "Bad News and Good News." The bad news is that "Abortion is sin" and sin "that leads to death." (1st John 5:16) The Good News is also that "Abortion is sin." Why is this "Good News?" Because even a sin that leads to death, once repented of and confessed, is no longer an unforgivable sin leading to eternal death. "IF we confess our sin He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9) We may exhaust ourselves making abortion a crime but we must never fail to preach, whether legal or no, any elective abortion, for any reason is still a sin that leads to death. We fail miserably as ministers of the Gospel offering Christ's forgiveness, if we fail to preach about all sin, especially a sin resulting in the idolatrous abomination of child sacrifice to demons. Beloved, if abortion were only a crime, the best one can do is to be found guilty and then be required to pay our debt to society. But how on earth does this nation repay the monsterous debt imposed by the slaughter of countless tens of millions of innocent American Children? Criminal penalties must be imposed, but only repented sin comes "debt free." Thank You, Lord Jesus for what it took to pay that debt. Learn all you can about the battles yet to be played out state by state beginning this year and beyond. Under the umbrella of Personhood USA (www.PersonhoodUSA.com) this church led effort has become the paramount "Civil and States Rights Issue" of our generation; but ONLY if the Church remains the spearhead and the prophetic voice to our nation. Churchman, do not be complicit in silencing the only prophetic voice, the Church of Jesus Christ, to bring our land to repentance and stay God's hand of judgment for national sin. My question to you is: "Is your church (or prolife ministry) more American or more Christian?" Be the voice God has called you to be for His glory alone.The prophet Nathan was that voice to King David and he repented, thankfully for his and the nation's sake. The ultimate question is not "What will each state in America vote to do?" But rather: "What will the Church in America provoke her citizens to do?" All for our only God and King, King Jesus!
