Ending Abortion is Easy~Finding the Christians to Help is the Hard Part

June 4-6, 2010, was advertised as “A PRO-LIFE WEEKEND WITH PASTOR FLIP BENHAM - THE PASTOR WHO LED NORMA MCCORVEY TO THE LORD.” And the Lord blessed the entire weekend.

It all began with a pastor’s luncheon at Hope Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Pastor Tim Nelson and the members of his church caught the vision for saving babies at death’s door a year ago. Since then, they have adopted Saturdays at, “A Jacksonville Women’s Health Center.” Hope Baptist may be small in numbers but it is a mighty mountain in heaven’s eyes.

Seventeen Pastors and ten ministry leaders joined Pastor Flip at the luncheon. Pastor Flip was dynamic in his presentation of the need to be at death’s door to save God’s “little baby boys and girls”. The pastors listened intensely to the message, and most accepted the challenge to ADOPT-A-DAY TO SAVE A BABY. It was noted that since we began going to the death camps in Jacksonville, abortions have gone down from almost 8,500 to 7,300 in two years. Planned Parenthood has not aborted a child through surgical means at its two locations in over a year. To God be the glory!

Pastor Flip pulled no punches in his address to the men of God. I felt a special anointing on Him as he presented the Truth. I realized I tend to treat the pastors with kid gloves and it just doesn’t work. We must shake them down to the bone to refute their sloppy Agape beliefs.

Saturday morning about seventy-five Christians gathered with five of the pastors from the day before for a JERICHO MARCH between two abortion death camps. The sounding of the Shofar signaled the beginning of the Jericho March. As the Shofar blew, several men carried a large 8 ft by 4 ft cross led the way with the pastors just behind the cross. Gentle Christian warriors followed singing praise songs and praying.

Each time we went before the death camps we did a SCRIPTURE WALL. We learned from Father Francis McCloskey at the “Big O” in Saratoga New York.

A pastor would declare “PRINCIPALITIES, POWERS AND THE RULERS OF THE DARKNESS OF THE AIR, HEAR THIS WORD OF THE LORD AND BE SUBJECT TO UNTO IT.” This was followed by a warfare scripture and a prayer. Again, we proclaimed to the powers of evil to, “HEAR THAT WORD AND BE SUBJECT UNTO IT!”

As the saints prayed at death’s door, women began to leave without having the abortion. Flip told me he wants to do the Jericho March at the National event in Charlotte along with the SCRIPTURE WALL.

The Jericho march is a Biblical tool that can be used to bring down the walls of the impregnable curse of abortion. Jericho Marches will bring more Christians out to the mill. The key to the Jericho March is not in the walking but in the believing. If we truly believe the walls of abortion will come down in the Name of Jesus, they will come down.

Pastor Flip held pro-life revivals at Hope Baptist Church on Friday night and Sunday morning services. Many that attended had never heard a message like that, and it inspired them to do more to save babies.

Many of us complain that we get very little help from the pastors in our city and I can certainly understand that. But do we meet with them and explain both biblically and in common sense terms why they must stand with us at death’s door?

I pray that each one of us goes to Charlotte for the National event with a new and positive attitude. Leave your negativity at home and come with a new sense of VICTORY.

As Pastor Flip tells us all the time: “ABORTION WILL END WHEN THE CHURCH JESUS CHRIST MAKES UP HER MIND IT WILL END – AND NOT ONE SECOND SOONER!”
