Abortion Mill in Raleigh, NC, to Shut Down!
Bill Schultz and Brooke Cain with foreword by Rev Flip Benham • 6/25/2010
THIRTY SEVEN YEARS OF KILLING GOD’S CHILDREN ENDS ON HAWORTH DRIVE, RALEIGH, NC
by Bill Schultz

As  we celebrate God’s glory and power with the ending of abortions being performed since 1973 at the former Susan Hill’s “Women’s Health Clinic” in Raleigh Bill and Jeanette write to you from our viewpoint as the directors/founders of a small & a small informal but growing group of Christians called “Street Samaritan’s & Gospel Ministry.”

Our ministry gathers several days every week  (year round since 2004) and pleads for baby’s lives, provides sidewalk counseling, admonishes sins, calls for repentance and brings the “good news” of Jesus Christ to all those coming and going, including Susan Hill herself.  Mom’s and Dad’s with baby saved become part of our overall family throughout their pregnancy and after.   Through sleet, snow, heavy rain storms, burning sun and winds we have seen and experienced it all;  the seemingly hundreds of chronic police arrivals from complaints, arguments with aggressive security forces interfering with our truth telling, being painted and inferred  by the press repeatedly from Susan Hill’s words as being potentially violent,  threats from angry fathers,  attempted run over’s on the sidewalk crossings, women leaving in ill condition – vomiting in the parking lot or on the streets, returning bent over in pain due to not having all of the baby parts removed, an ambulance taking a mother away,  being cursed with foul language by many,  mocked by feminist escorts and mill workers.  But then there is the spiritual consolations of seeing mothers and fathers arrive oppressed but then turn for life at the gates of hell, with rekindled faith and tears of joy streaming down their cheeks, followed by their joy at seeing their baby on a sonogram and then we receive the joy of holding their precious baby in our arms at birth and loving them now as toddlers.  They will change the world we live in.

We are joined together on the sidewalks with our fellow Street Samaritans;  Jorge, Taylor, Walter, Randi, Luis, Andrew, Mona & Carelton, Christina, many other gentle Christians, regular prayer warriors from St. Joseph’s parish, a loyal & large force of loving Christians with “Truth Truck” from Mt Zion Church in Durham, NC,.  Also periodically many “40 days for life” participants with pastors, Life Guards and Life conference  in recent years,  and several  members of the Knights of Columbus.

Last but not least are the five biological “Sister’s” Jackie, Linda, Diana, Nancy and Becky, our Sister’s in Christ who are there each and every Saturday and have been for twenty years, (accompanied by their friend Ruth in recent years) and Roger (our Marshal at Arms & holder of the police permit) carrying his 8’ wooden cross on the sidewalk who has been with them for some 16 years.   Together with them we informally call ourselves “52 Weeks for Life.”

It is a sign from God’s providence and power to those who persevere in His name; the Sisters often do “Jericho Walks” on the sidewalks around the mill, the seventh time around blowing their trumpet.   Week after week for so many years they have cried out to God in prayer for the closing of this “field of blood” and death camp. On Saturday, June 26, 2010 will be the 20th anniversary from their beginning quest in 1980 and is the day abortions of God’s children will cease!  “Selah”

Praise God and be with us this Saturday in prayer and sounding of the trumpets for the repentance of those inside and in tribute to God on the sidewalks in front of this evil place where demons surely dwell.  With one battle won we now move on to the remaining Raleigh abortion center’s .

“You are my King and my God, ……through you we push back our enemies; through you we trample our foes……you give us victory over our enemies…..in God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.”  Psalm 43:4-8

RALEIGH -- One of four Triangle abortion clinics will no longer do procedures after Saturday, but it's unclear whether it will close or simply stop offering abortions.

National Women's Health Organization of Raleigh, which was founded in

1976 by the late women's rights activist Susan Hill, is "in transition," said Ann Rose, a longtime friend of Hill's who has been affiliated with the business.  Rose said the last day of procedures would be Saturday (June 25, 2010) but would not elaborate on that or on what "in transition" means for the clinic's staff and potential patients.

The clinic was widely believed to be for sale after Hill died of breast cancer in February.  In addition to the Raleigh facility on Haworth Drive, Hill owned

abortion centers in Columbus, Ga., and Jackson, Miss.  Her brother, Dan Hill of Durham, said he is uncertain about the status of the clinics but said Susan Hill had no children and no heirs to leave the businesses to.

"I think it would be a shame if the clinic does close," Dan Hill said, noting that his sister was committed to providing a service she felt was needed. He said his sister was strident in opposing anti-abortion activists who at times threatened her life, and any successor would need a similar fortitude.

"It's a hard role for anyone to step into," he said.  If the clinic stops providing abortions, Raleigh will have two centers remaining. Abortions are also provided at Chapel Hill's Planned Parenthood affiliate, while the Planned Parenthood office in Raleighonly makes referrals.

"We have certainly made referrals to Raleigh Women's Health over the years, and they have been a valued partner in meeting the reproductive health care needs of women in North Carolina," said David Nova, vice president of Planned Parenthood Health Systems Inc.

Abortions in North Carolina have been declining, as they have across the nation. In 2008, the latest year for available data, about 27,000 North Carolina women had abortions, according to the N.C. Center for State Health Statistics. That was down 4.6 percent from the previous year.  Nationwide, abortions are at their lowest level since the 1970s.

About Operation Rescue/Operation Save America
Operation Rescue/Operation Save America unashamedly takes up the cause of preborn children in the name of Jesus Christ. We employ only biblical principles. The Bible is our foundation; the Cross of Christ is our strategy; the repentance of the Church of Jesus Christ is our ultimate goal. As the Church changes its heart toward unborn children, God Himself will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and bring healing to our land.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only answer to the abortion holocaust. It is upon our active repentance in the streets of our cities that the Gospel is visibly lived out. We become to the church, to our city, and to our nation living parables which rightly represent God's heart toward His helpless children.

There are no cheap political solutions to the holocaust presently ravaging our nation. Like slavery before it, abortion is preeminently a Gospel issue. The Cross of Christ is the only solution.
