Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Thank you for your prayers. They are working. Hearts are being softened to the soul-saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no way that with the continual presence of the preaching of the Word of God and the power of prayer and the binding of the enemy at this Mosque that Satan's stronghold on the hearts and minds of men and women can continue unabated!
I arrived early on the site near the Masjid An-Noor Mosque in Bridgeport for prayer at 12:15PM. After praying for fifteen minutes and meeting an old friend who was passing through I launched into a couple sets of preaching centered on the love and mercy of our God and how the Truth is only found in the Word of God.
I encouraged those who would listen to read the Bible, set aside the Quran for a time and ask the God of all creation to bring Truth, as He had promised through His Spirit.
I was successful in handing out some literature and speaking with a few men and young people. Then, at about 1:30PM Carlos came out of the Mosque to leave for work and we walked together and spoke of the Trinity and how Jesus is the Son of God. We spoke of Abraham and how God appeared to him in his tent while on the way to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. (As three men!) We spoke of other times in the Old Testament of the appearances of God and the words in the Hebrew that implied the Three-in One. (Especially the first verse of the entire Bible, Genesis 1:1!!) Carlos' heart softened. Carlos was an ex-Roman Catholic who had converted to Islam a number of years ago.
So here we stood, in the heat of the day in full view of the front of the Mosque and he began to bend towards the Gospel. His heart softening. He was now already late for work! He now agreed to meet some evening for dinner to talk more of God's love, the forgiveness of sin and how he might come to understand the Bible better. He took more literature to read, a Bible and my business card. I have his phone number and his address.
Carlos also agreed today that we have come in love and not in anger saying that the newspaper was wrong!
What a wonderful day today was. I will not forget the smile on Carlos' face as he walked away. One by one we will reach and touch the lives of these men, women and children. Regardless of the cost.
Agape.
