Dear Champion of the Lord and the Preborn,
Just returned from our outreach at the local Mosque in Wichita. We had about 15 saints, including three senior pastors, come to the gates of hell. We split up into three teams to cover the three entrances and exits of the Mosque.
We passed out close to 200 packets, which included the Gospel of John and the epistle of Romans in Arabic, plus a DVD of testimonies of Muslims who converted to Christianity based upon the love and truth of Christ.
The Koran has many divine characteristics it attributes to Allah, such as, He is mighty and great. The one conspicuously missing is love. There is no "God is love" in Islam as found in the Bible (1 John 4:7-10). They serve Allah out of fear, dread and bondage. To call upon Jesus, is to believe Allah will strike them dead or inspire other Muslims to take them out. Oh, how they desperately need the love of Christ to be shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Ghost to break their religious chains of damnation (Romans 5:5).
For some reason, all the head imams converged on our group. They demanded that we abandon the sidewalk and not pass out Gospel literature. We told them that this is America and there is a precious gift that we have in this nation called freedom and that we would not abandon. They said that we came through their back door and we assured them, no, this was a public proclamation done in the light of day.
Meanwhile, Pastor Mark Holick who led the charge was arrested for loitering and failure to disperse. Apparently, he was arrested on their driveway attempting to pass out the packets. As I write, we are working to get him out on bail. Typically with such a minor charge, they normally would allow such a one to sign out on their own recognizance. But since it is Pastor Mark, they called for a thousand dollar bail.
Today, the Word of God was sown in much prayer. In a couple of weeks, while a contingent of OSA saints will be in New York City on 9/11, Rev. Flip Benham will be leading the second outreach at this Mosque in Wichita. Today, the Word was handed out and we did get a chance to minister to some. Next time, however, the Word will be preached. Let us pray God's message will come in full power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit. For the kingdom of God is not in word (only), but in power (1 Corinthians 4:20).
