I hope everything at Operation Save America is going well.  What a great job you are doing.  You are going to really enjoy what I am about to tell you. 

I am running for Congress in Washington D.C. against Eleanor Holmes Norton.  The main reason for my campaign is to run graphic pro-life ads on the major networks here in D.C. -- because as Fr. Pavone has always said "America will not reject abortion until America sees abortion".  With that in mind, I have created two ads.  The first one tells my story as a post abortive woman who was lied to and exploited by the abortion industry. This ad shows many graphic pictures of babies killed by abortion.  The second ad describes the development of a baby in the mother's womb with one graphic picture at the end of a baby's raised hand. I suggest you go right now to my website missysmith2010.com and watch them so you will get a feel for the power of these ads being run for the first time in "the belly of the beast", Washington D.C., where Roe vs Wade was first passed by judicial tyranny and where it will end if we do our part.

By Tuesday October 26 we will have run thirty ads!  The networks have included CBS, ABC, NBC and FOX5 with the ads running on the news, Oprah, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Ellen Degeneris, Dr. Phil, Seinfeld and this Sunday on NBC - Obama's RNC address (as well as on many other programs).  We have literally caused a fire storm.  Every station has interviewed me and run stories around these ads.  Not only have we saved babies' lives and helped prevent women from being wounded, we have also driven the debated back into the court of public opinion where it needs to be.  This is something for which we have hoped and prayed for many years, and now it is here !  

My phones are ringing off the hook.  We have really made the devil angry.  I have to empty my phone at least twice a day from hate filled voice messages. I have hired someone just to retrieve messages since there are those staunch pro-lifers who are calling to give moral support as well as financial help. We are really creating a firestorm -- and made the front page of the Washington Times yesterday!

So let me get to the reason for my letter to you today. I am asking you as, as a pro-life leader, to do three things for me.

1. Personally contribute to my campaign (from you, not Operation Save America).  If you could send $50 or $100 that will go a long way to paying for these unprecedented ads.

2. Personally send an e-mail to your distribution list driving people to our website missysmith2010.com and encouraging them to donate.  Jack Ames of Defend Life bought his own list for $1.00 and then sent out his personal plea for funds.  Again, $2400 is the maximum and $10 is appreciated. 

Some ads can be very costly and others very inexpensive.  The point is we have only 11 days left to make a major impact on young abortion minded people -- our targeted audience -- as well as to drive the debate.

3. Personally endorse me.  Go to my website and see the other endorsements that I have received so far, including Pastor Luke Robinson, Pastor Walter Hoye, Norma McCorvey, Ambassador Alan Keyes, and Congressman Trent Franks.  Jack Ames endorsed me as a pro-life leader without the worry of compromising his non profit status.
