I am in Pelindaba, South Africa after three weeks in the bush in Zambia Namibia and Botswana. We are stopped at a farm to recuperate. Johann is so tired he just cannot continue to drive. I am pretty depleted too. We will stay here to attend a wedding at the Pelindaba mission tomorrow and then continue on to Kwasizabantu mission in Natal ( Land of the Zulu). The outreach was wonderful but it takes one week of driving to cross the continent then one week in Natungoma Zambia with the eye surgeon doing operation and then one week back. I was blessed to assist and to dress wounds of the lepers. One woman whose wound on her leg she had for 20 years kept trying to comfort me while I cleaned it each day. I cried! I also saw the awesome joy in a pastor's eyes when I took the bandages from his eyes and he saw the Word of God again. He had Trachoma - a disease that blinds hundreds each day.
Why I am writing. - I am on a borrowed computer and cannot remember all the addresses. Can you send this to Michelle and Dale and tell them how blessed I was to hear their news. I cried again at His mercy and grace. I will pray HARD and I will ask everyone on this mission to pray. They are praying people. They must depend on God for each day of life. Since I was here last year two have gone home to be with the Lord (bush accidents).
Tell Flip, Faye, Kristene, Becky, Dorrie and all I miss them VERY much. I will be home Nov 6.
Love you VERY mooch and miss you a lot!!!
Miss Pat
