Flip told me more about the wonderful pastor in Enoch , Utah , Scott Maxwell, whose church, Red Hills Southern Baptist Church, has the huge lighted cross. When the team marched through the center of the city, Pastor Scott marched right along beside them. Flip said he was such a blessing to them. The Lord, in turn, blessed him. Flip said, "Because he was out on the streets, four folks and two other families said they would come to his church Sunday." The team had a television interview and had Pastor Scott do it. Flip said, "God opened doors for this man who allowed his theology to become biography in the streets."
Their walk through the city of Enoch was capped by "firsts." It was the first time the saints have been mooned, the first time they've had Coke thrown at them. Flip said the kids were hooting and hollering. He said, "They don't even understand what makes them so angry about our public proclamation of the Gospel. We do, because Genesis 3:15 tells us that God put enmity between the two seeds. He said, "We've been called to be a light. What does light do? It shines on the dark places, the sins, and what is the reaction of someone whose sins are being exposed? Anger!" It is the Holy Spirit in us that convicts them."
Flip says before they go out each day, they pray that God will give them divine appointments and He always does. They've passed out a ton of literature and prayed with many lost people to be saved.
Today they met Nevada who just celebrated her 93rd birthday. She has two sisters, Virginia and Georgia, both living. As they talked together, Nevada shook her head and lamented, "It's terrible what we've allowed our country to become."
The team is spending the night in Beaver, Utah . They're 6,000 ft. above sea level. They've traveled through some stormy weather. Flip says the wind is cold and swoops in on them unexpectedly. He said Mercy is on the mend after a vet gave her a shot up into her hoof and she rested for a couple of days. He claims Judgment eats so much, he never stops. He's an entirely different horse than when he started this trip. He said, "God uses rejects like us, like Seabiscuit..."
