“He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

Micah 6:8

Friday Morning

National leaders gathered to prepare for the “Summer of Justice” throughout the week. Meetings with law enforcement, local churches and religious leaders, social media development, media relations, and the painstaking details of hosting hundreds of people kept leaders busy.

In the previous Sunday’s paper, the Wichita Eagle published three different articles on Operation Rescue National/Operation Save America’ upcoming “Summer of Justice.” The Wichita Eagle grossly maligned the mission and history of ORN/OSA. The return of ORN/OSA to Wichita for our anniversary of the Summer of Mercy was the underlying focus of each of the articles yet ORN/OSA was not provided an opportunity to refute the serious charges— threats, violence, and domestic terrorism— implicit in each article.

Members of ORN/OSA national leadership; media spokesperson, Pat McEwen; and National Director, Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas were not afforded an opportunity to respond to the slanderous charges and false claims made by abortion supporters and others.

As a result, national director, Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas, assistant director, Chet Gallagher, Pastor Rob Rotola of Word of Life Church, and Donna Lippoltd of Culture Shield Network set the record straight regarding the slanderous and erroneous reporting at a press conference in front of the Wichita Eagle newspaper. ORN leaders refuted the charges from Wichita Eagle, corrected revisionist history, and explained the passing of the national directorship from Randall Terry, to Pastor Keith Tucci, to Rev Flip Benham, then finally to acting national director Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas.

Friday Evening

On Friday evening, Donna hosted a special time of fellowship for out of town leaders at her Wichita home. The delicious food was from local eateries and the conversation was lively, with lots of laughter. It was wonderful time of relaxation and storytelling, with the older generation sharing with the younger the exploits of the Lord.

New Signs

Alan Childress and his sons, Lucas and Levi provided new banners and signs for the “Summer of Justice” outreach. The abortion victim posters read, “The wages of sin is death” or “This is what a nation looks like that violates God’s commandment.” The beautiful live baby pictures read, “”The gift of God is eternal life” or “This is what a nation looks like that honors God’s commandments.” The message is the Gospel in pictures. We thank their generous family for their love and ministry of helps.

24 Hour Prayer Tent

8:00 AM Saturday began our 24 Hour intercession. Saints from around the nation met under a tent at Finley Park in Wichita, to pray for our preborn neighbor, the city of Wichita, and our blood soaked nation. Saints took two hour slots and prayed throughout the day and into the night. At dusk the prayer was moved in doors. People showed up in the middle of the night and early in the morning. One man, Gabrielle, prayed throughout the 24 hours. When his burden was completed, he was spotted sound asleep in his truck. Thank you, Gabrielle and all those who have persevered in prayer. God is doing something in Wichita, KS.

More prayer has gone into the Summer of Justice, then any other event before it. The prayer began three months ago. OSA intercessor, Michelle S. organized corporate conference prayer calls, four times a week. Between five and fifteen people would pray on the line.  Michelle’s efforts were joined by AHA prayer warriors Thom and Mary Huey who regularly lifted up the OSA ministry outreach in their weekly prayer time. Nationwide intercessors pledged to pray throughout the week.  Their prayers are going up as I write. In addition, intercessor groups from different prolife and Christian ministries are praying even now.

Saturday Evening Rally

Our first evening rally was at the Word of Life Church in Wichita. Pastor Rob Rotoloa and his church have been great blessings to ORN/OSA.  Rev. Thomas began the first of his five part message on the “Paradigm Shift to End Abortion.” The worship was led by the Word of Life worship team.

The evening included a special surprise guest, former ORN/OSA national director, Rev. Flip Benham. When he walked on stage, Rev. Benham received a warm, thunderous welcome from the surprised crowd. Rev. Benham was at the original Summer of Mercy in 1991 and the fifteenth anniversary. He wanted to be with us for the 25 anniversary “Summer of Justice.” Rev. Benham preached a rousing sermon from Psalm 78. He cited verses five and six, “He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.” He reminded the crowd that we have a responsibility to recount the great deeds of God to our children. He then began a ORN/OSA history lesson. He mentioned the many times God intervened, answered prayers, and did exploits on behalf of His people.

Church Outreach

On Sunday morning, saints visited local area churches with a “Macedonian call.” ORN/OSA representatives visited with pastors and gave each one a packet describing our ministry and the work ORN/OSA in their city. They were implored to end baby murder and join in the work of the Lord. They were invited to Sunday night’s Solemn Assembly, a corporate time of prayer and repentance. The reception was good.

One apostate homosexual church was rebuked by mature men of God. The congregation was offered a Gospel track on the sin of homosexuality and forgiveness and new life in Christ. We pray fruit from that necessary ministry. To read the track, click here. https://operationsaveamerica.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Homosex-Pamphlet-V5.pdf

Evening Rally

The evening rally was devoted to repentance. Over 25 Christian pastors and leaders (this was in addition to the numerous ORN/OSA leaders and members who are pastors) participated in this important Solemn Assembly.
