I have two big announcements to make.

First, we are closing in fast on our goal of getting 50,000 petitions to deliver to Governor Abbott.

When this petition started just 35 days ago, we only dreamed of getting to 50,000!

We knew it would take a lot of time and money–money we didn’t have yet–to get the word out.

But by the grace of God and with your help, it has happened! THANK YOU!

As you already know, the petition you signed encourages Governor Abbott to keep his promise to Jeremiah by declaring outlawing abortion to be an emergency item for the legislature during Governor Abbott’s State of the State speech.

Which brings me to my second announcement . . .

We just found out that Governor Abbott is scheduled to make his State of the State speech on Tuesday morning!

That’s just five days away!

We have not yet heard whether he will be making outlawing abortion a priority item for Texas, so we need to keep working . . . FAST.

Some of you have been asking whether we have requested a personal meeting with Governor Abbott. Yes, we have. His staff has been gracious and we hope to have that meeting as soon as they let us know.

While we look forward to that, can I ask you to do three things?

First, please call Governor Abbott’s office at (512) 463-1782 and politely request that he make outlawing abortion an emergency item during his State of the State speech. Be sure to let them know you are from Texas.

If you need help with what to say, here is a suggestion: “My name is __________, I am a Texan, and I would like to respectfully request that, during his State of the State speech on Tuesday, Governor Abbott would declare outlawing abortion to be an emergency item.”

If more than 55,000 innocent children every year being murdered by abortion in this state is not an emergency, then I don’t know what is.

So can you call Governor Abbott’s office right now at (512) 463-1782 and politely make that request? Thanks!

Second, we are busily preparing the huge boxes of your petitions to get them ready to deliver to Governor Abbott on Monday (the day before his speech).

We would love to have your help to deliver your 48,602 petitions (and counting!).

On Monday, we will be holding a press conference in the Capitol around 2:30 PM, followed by a brief rally in the Capitol Rotunda. Then we will be marching (on foot and by elevator) up one floor to deliver what we expect to be over 50,000 petitions to Governor Abbott’s office.

You’ve already done so much and I know it’s short not, but if you can make it, we would love to have you come to show the Capitol some of the faces of the Texans who are committed to standing with Governor Abbott in keeping his promise to grant Jeremiah’s wish.

Finally, can I ask you to pray for Governor Abbott?
Psalm 146:3 tells us not to put our trusts in princes (or governors), and we don’t.

We trust in God because, among other things, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord” (Proverbs 29:1).

Like Proverbs 29:26 says, “Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice for man comes from the Lord.”

But God also tells us to pray for “kings and all who are in authority” (1 Timothy 2:2).

So can I ask to pray for Governor Abbott right now?
Thank you!

And remember, (1) please call Governor Abbott’s office at (512) 463-1782 and politely request that he make outlawing abortion an emergency item during his State of the State speech; (2) please come to Austin if you can; and (3) please pray for Governor Abbott, and pray for God to have mercy and abolish abortion in this state.
For His glory!
