This is the tract we will be handing out in New Orleans at the Fifth District Court. On June 7th, we will stand in support of Pastor Tony Spell, who is being defended by Judge Roy Moore. Our future freedoms are hanging in the balance. Let all good men take their place to support them.
Operation Save America presents “Strike a Blow for Freedom Rally!”
“In the days of lawlessness those who keep the law become the outlaw.”
R. J. Rushdoony stated: “Western liberty began when the claim of the state to be man’s savior was denied. The state then, according to Scripture, was made the ministry of justice. But, wherever Christ ceases to be man’s savior, there liberty perishes as the state again asserts its messianic claims. Man is in trouble, and history is the record of his attempt to find salvation. Man needs a savior, and the question is simply one of choice: Christ or the state? No man can choose the one without denying the other, and all attempts at compromise are a delusion.”
America is in deep trouble and distress as our American government seeks to deify itself at the expense of our freedoms. Most government solutions claiming to solve our dilemmas only add to our woes. No crisis is wasted when it comes to our government increasing its tyranny upon the American people.
We live in a time when evil has become good and good, evil. Evil has been codified into law. The state is therefore growing in its oppressions as moral anarchy corrupts the American culture. Our historical freedoms are being systematically destroyed as the inmates run the asylum in Washington DC.
America stands on the brink of collapse. Once again, we must consider a statement articulated by President Abraham Lincoln at his famous Gettysburg address. He declared, “Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.” Can our nation endure as founded is certainly one of the premier questions of our day?
The reality we are facing as a people is we have become a Prodigal Nation that has gone far from the Father’s House. Some still seem to love the fruits of Christianity. Most still prize the freedom, prosperity, and protection it affords. The major problem, however, is we do not desire Christ, His Kingdom, and His great salvation amongst men and nations anymore.
We ignore His truth, spurn His laws, and reject His supreme authority. We mock what is good and celebrate with demonic glee what is evil in God’s sight. We do this to our own hurt and demise. We are severing our historical roots along with the precious fruits of liberty these roots secured.
Case in point is what brings us to the Fifth District Court in New Orleans for our “Strike a Blow for Freedom Rally.” Today, the Foundation for Moral Law in Montgomery, Alabama, will represent Pastor Tony Spell and Life Tabernacle Church of Baton Rouge against Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards; David Barrow, Mayor of Central City, La.; Roger Corcoran, Chief of Police of Central City Mayor; Sharon Weston Broome, Mayor of Baton Rouge, LA; Sheriff Sid Gautreaux of Baton Rouge Parish; and Judge Fred Crifasi of the 19th Judicial District of Louisiana.
Pastor Spell was arrested, placed in jail, and accused of several violations of Governor Edward’s orders not to assemble for worship services. Pastor Spell has been under house arrest and forced to wear an ankle bracelet because he will not abandon his conviction based upon God’s command to not forsake the assembling of the church together (Hebrews 10:25).
The Foundation’s complaint states that the Governor of Louisiana and other state officials, which include mayors, law enforcement officials, a sheriff, and a District Court Judge have violated the United States Constitution and the Constitution of Louisiana in their effort to enforce emergency powers.
Judge Moore stated, “Nothing in the United States Constitution or the constitution of any state gives federal and state officials the right to use “emergency powers” to take away our most valuable rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
In the words of James Madison, Chief Architect of our Constitution, no power of government should be allowed to “Overleap the great barrier which defends the right of the people. The rulers who are guilty of such an encroachment exceed the commission from which they derive their authority and are ‘TYRANTS.’ The people who submit to it are governed by laws made neither by themselves, nor by an authority derived from them, and are slaves.”
America has endured many trials, hardships, and tribulations in our history, but our government never dared to infringe upon our liberties as we have witnessed in these dark, tumultuous times. No doubt, the Covid 19 virus posed a threat to our health and our hearts and prayers go out to those who have suffered loss.
This, in and of itself, does not grant the government the authority to quarantine the healthy, shut down our livelihoods, restrict human contact, especially, when loved ones are sick and dying, and run roughshod over our freedoms. Our government has no Biblical nor Constitutional authority to determine who or what is essential or non-essential. It does not get to exercise raw power to determine the winners and losers in a pandemic, planned or otherwise.
Our message here is clear, “Civil Government, you are not our God, our nanny, our healthcare provider, nor our master. Get out our homes, churches, and get back in your Constitutional lane. Your duty is to protect our God-given rights, not violate them.”
Pastor Tony Spell is upholding what has laid the foundation for Western civilization and specifically for what birthed our nation. The standard that Christian men have followed down through the ages is: When the State commands us to do what God forbids or forbids us to do what God commands – we are to obey God rather than man.
Tragically, a lot of the churches have thrown Pastor Spell under the bus. They have not stood with him nor emulated his brave example. Shame on them. They should know better. They should not be cowering in fear, but be strong in faith. Pastor Tony is leading the way out and they should support him. His righteous and just stand is not just for the honor and glory of God, it is a defense of God’s church and a defense to protect the freedoms of all Americans.
May our Lord vindicate his servant, reprove the tyrants in our government, and preserve the liberty that better men than these tyrants died to secure for our posterity in Jesus’ name!
IN KING JESUS’ SERVICE,
Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas, National Director, Operation Rescue/Operation Save America
