The vision and mission is going forth.  This is the latest headline.  Please continue to saturate the States of Refugecampaign in prayer.  The gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ!  This is the result of our National Press Conference delivered in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 20, 2012.

As you read this article, keep in mind missionary William Carey’s famous quote, “Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God.”

‘Abomination’ of Abortion to Soon be Eradicated From America, Says Activist

Mon, Jan. 23, 2012 Posted: 10:07 AM EDT

Operation Save America, a pro-life group aiming to bring down the abortion industry in the country, is launching a new campaign called “States of Refuge” with one specific goal in mind – to take advantage of what it says is declining support for abortion and eradicate the practice from the U.S. altogether.

The Rev. Flip Benham, national director of Operation Save America, firmly declared in an interview with The Christian Post: “We are winning the battle. What we want to do is push abortion into a shallow grave, bury it forever, and leave no marker above its place. We want this horrible abomination to be gone, as slavery was 150 years ago.”

Benham is perhaps most well-known for his life-changing encounter with Norma McCorvey, the woman represented as “Jane Roe” of Roe v. Wade. Benham, due to their 1994 meeting, is credited with leading McCorvey to Christ, which led to her becoming a pro-life activist.

The “States of Refuge” campaign plans to shut down the remaining abortion clinics in Arkansas, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.  If it succeeds, these will be the first “abortion-free” states in the nation, and Benham believes it will pave the way for other states to go the same way and rid themselves of the practice.

The effort is modeled in part after the “Cities of Refuge” found in the Old Testament of the Bible, as an introduction on the “States of Refuge” website explains:

As you may recall, there were six Levitical cities set apart in Israel for refuge in the cases of questionable deaths. These cities were established by God to provide asylum till proof of innocence or guilt against the accused could be established. These cities were also designed to protect Israel from blood guiltiness, lest the avenger of blood pursue and kill an innocent person.

Benham elaborated on why he feels the tide is turning in America in favor of the pro-life movement.

“We believe that now, with the numbers of abortions down by almost 40 percent, the number of abortion mills has dropped almost 65 percent, and the number of doctors doing abortions has also dropped close to 40 percent, we are winning this battle.  The time is now for the Church to rise up and wait not for political parties, or the president, or Congress, or the Supreme Court to take care of the issue.  It is our responsibility.  The gates of hell will not prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ.”

“Abortion will come to an end, when the Church of Jesus Christ makes up her mind it will end – and not one second sooner,” he added.

When asked about what role the 2012 presidential elections may play in the fight against abortion, the campaign leader said “none.”

“They (politicians) very rarely talk about the over 60 million – one-third of the generation 39 years old or younger – that are dead (due to abortion).  I think this is one of the deadliest wars that we have ever been in.”

“This is THE major issue.  It is why God is draining America’s wealth; it is why 19 guys with box cutters can bring this nation to its knees; it is why there are so many judgments from the hand of God upon this land,” Benham said.  “We are sacrificing His children.”

Addressing what might have been the turning point that changed attitudes toward abortion, the reverend explained: “The zenith of the pro-abortion movement was at the end of 1991.  Abortion steadily increased from Jan. 22, 1973 to 1991 – even after 12 years of Republican Presidents, from Ronald Reagan to George H. Bush.”

“What’s interesting is that what marked the radical downturn of abortions was the election of Bill Clinton.  He did everything for the abortion industry, except build an abortion mill in the West Wing of the White House.  He gave them whatever they wanted – and yet the abortions started going down.  In 1991, there were over 2,000 free-standing abortion mills in the U.S.  Today, there are 678.”

Turning to the potential reasons for such a shift, he noted, “It is not that we passed a piece of legislature to tackle this – abortion is not a political issue.  It is a Gospel issue.  If the Church of Jesus Christ goes out to these abortion mills and gives mothers a real choice, we will win – and we are winning.”

Benham continued, “The majority of people in America now believe that abortion is wrong.  The heart of this nation is changing – and our laws are beginning to reflect that change.  You don’t legislate abortion to be gone – you can’t do it from the top down.  It happens from the bottom up.  It doesn’t matter who is elected president, or if Obama gives himself seven more terms – we will win this battle because we are bringing the Gospel of Christ to the gates of hell where they will not prevail.”

Paul Rondeau, the executive director for the American Life League, which describes itself as the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life education organization in the United States, confirmed to The Christian Post that abortion rates were indeed falling and public opinions were changing.

“There can be no doubt that abortion is a dying industry under siege,” Rondeau commented. “In the last twenty years, as the public learns more and more about the gruesome reality of abortions, surgical and medical abortions have dropped from 1.6 million in 1990 to 1.21 million in 2010.  Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in the word, which receives almost $500 million annually in taxpayer dollars, has bucked this trend.

“Although Planned Parenthood tries to portray itself as a health care provider, it has increased its share of the abortion industry in the Unites States by over 300 percent. From less than 1 in 10, Planned Parenthood now commits more than 1 in 4 of all abortions; 329,445 surgical abortions in 2010 alone.  This helps explain why abortion profiteers like Planned Parenthood are being defunded in growing numbers at the state level.  And, for the first time, Congress has attempted to do the same at the federal level.”

The executive director went on to explain that a 2009 Gallup Poll revealed for the first time that those who self-identify as pro-life are a 51 percent majority in the United States.

On the subject of what role politics might play in the future of abortion in the United States, Rondeau explained, “We do not endorse any political candidates.  However, it is well known that President Obama threatened to shut down the Unites States government rather than cut one penny from Planned Parenthood in the budgeting process.

“His Secretary of HHS (Health and Human Services), Kathleen Sebelius, has threatened states that cut off funding to Planned Parenthood and circumvented others.  She may even be implicated in the criminal destruction of evidence crucial to felony investigations of Planned Parenthood in Kansas while she was governor.  ALL has publicly called for her immediate resignation.”

“This administration has undermined conscious and religious exemptions for medical professionals and required that insurance companies pay for medical abortions.  The anti-life list is long,” he continued.

“Nevertheless, as an orthodox Catholic organization that has fought for 30 years for a culture that respects intrinsic human rights, starting with the most fundamental – the right to life – we look at all the indicators and believe the tide has turned.  We pray that the American electorate will elect a president this year who does not propose that protecting innocent human life is above his pay grade.”

A recent World Health Organization study published in The Lancet looked at global abortion rates form a different angle, revealing that, although global abortions in general have also flattened out (to 28 per 1,000 women a year in 2008), another factor to consider is that the number of abortions carried out in unsafe environments or without trained clinical help has been rising and putting women in great danger.  The global rates rose from 44 percent in 1995 to 49 percent in 2008.

You all remember Pastor Andrew Street.  He gave the abortion mill in Fort Wayne, Indiana, heaven this 39th Memorial of Roe v. Wade as he conducted a press conference outside its doors.  The words he spoke were so full of truth and God’s Holy Spirit that I couldn’t wait for you to read them.

Powerful!   ~ Flip

January 20, 2012
39 years ago this coming Sunday, the Supreme Court of the United States of America de-criminalized this barbarism.  In that infamous Roe vs. Wade decision, they declared open season on defenseless unborn children from conception all the way up to birth!

Imagine standing in your back yard and your precocious 10-year-old son comes up behind you and asks: “Can I kill this?” Your instinctive reaction would be “What is it?” If it’s a mouse, shrew or snake he found in the bushes, not that big of a deal. But if it’s his 3-year-old sister, then you certainly wouldn’t grant permission!

Anyone who would answer the question, “Can I kill this” with a “Yes” without first asking “What?” would be punishable by law if indeed a human being is the object! Yet that is exactly what the Supreme Court did in 1973. Unless you are sure that the object in question is verifiably not-human, you have no grounds to justify it’s murder!

Our own president, Barack Hussien Obama, was posed the question: “When does human life begin?” He parried the question by saying, “That’s above my paygrade.” And yet he has been a staunch and ardent supporter of abortion with his voting record.  If you’re not sure, then you may not kill it!

Since 1973 medical science has done anything but verify the human embryo as non-human. Indeed, the more we have found out about the development of these little ones, the more and more we are forced to admit they are just as much a person, who needs the protection of the law, as any little defenseless child!

Abortion is not a political issue or an academic discussion, it’s a moral evil! Every Thursday morning, here at this abortion mill, 2210 Inwood Drive, Fort Wayne,  the abortionist, George Klopfer, reaches into the private sanctuaries of unborn children.  Without warning and without mercy he rips  their arms and legs from their bodies, rips their heads from their torsos and, if the head is too large, he crushes it and removes it piecemeal.

This is unconscionable! This is intolerable! Yet we as a nation, as a state, and as a city have not only tolerated it, we have approved it! My challenge to the media this morning is not to show those of us who are standing here, but to show the babies – the babies who have been victimized by abortion. You show what has happened when war and  terror strike a country; now show what happens when an abortionist strikes a baby!

We’ve outdone Hitler’s holocaust against the Jews by nearly 9 to 1!  And the greater tragedy is that we’re still counting the bodies.  Just yesterday there were even more mothers who went inside this mill to kill their babies.

God is the God of love and throughout the scriptures He tells His people to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.  All through the scriptures He commands us to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.  All through the scriptures He says, “Remember the fatherless,” and He’s told us to care for the “least of these.”  He’s said, “Rescue those being led away to death, those staggering toward slaughter, O hold them back! (Prov. 24:11)”  But not only have we not rescued them, as a nation, as a state and as a city, we have killed them!

Now
hear the Word of the Lord:
When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.   Isaiah 1:15

As a nation, we’re finding out that if you sow murder in the womb, you’re going to reap it in the streets!

We’re gathered here today to repent and to call to repentance.  We’re here today to declare our sorrow for allowing this gross evil to go on. We’re here today to pronounce the obvious:  The loving God of the Bible cannot and will not tolerate this sin! We’re not here to speak about the need for a cleaner clinic, increased regulation and tighter restrictions on abortion. There is but one acceptable solution: the killing must stop! This is not an issue to be relegated to the Congress, the Supreme Court or even the State House.  This is an issue for the citizens of Fort Wayne.  You must repent for allowing the blood of innocent children to course through your streets. You must stand against this evil because the politicians have not and will not until you do! You must speak up and speak out on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves. God’s will is for an abortion-free Fort Wayne!

But we’re here also to extend redeeming grace.  The end of the story is not yet written for George Klopfer, or for the employees of this murder mill, or for the mothers who are contemplating killing their child.  No, not even for those mothers who have already killed their baby.  Jesus is not willing that any should perish, but that all will come to repentance!

His Word states:
Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, 17 Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. 18 ” Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool!”
 Isaiah 1:16-18

Nationally, we are in dark and dangerous times.  God is judging our land.  If we continue to tolerate the intolerable sin of abortion, God’s judgment is going to get worse!  We have come to bring this city to the  awareness that God is judging our nation because we kill our young. We’ve come to say, “Enough! It’s time to quit this sin TODAY!”

But personally, grace is still available.  You can be forgiven, cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and set free from all your guilt.  We’ve come to offer help, real help, healing and hope through Jesus Christ.  We’ve come to invite the city of Fort Wayne and its surrounding areas, and especially the pastors and churches in and around this “City of Steeples ” to stand up, stand out and speak against this intolerable wickedness!   Fort Wayne, you may not, you cannot, kill  your children!

“When religion is in a state of quiet and prosperity … the soldiers of the church militant will then tend to forget they are at war. Their ardor slackens and their zeal languishes.”   — William Wilberforce

A Judge in Florida has finally ruled on the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Law (FACE) and the illegal collusion between the Justice Department (DOJ) and the abortion industry.  This ruling will be a great help to all of us who are faithfully bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the gates of hell (local abortion mills) in the streets of our own cities.  This should be great news to Ken and Jo Scott who are being charged with the very same thing in Denver.

Here is a short video clip (1 minute and 18 seconds) of the amazing things that took place in the City of Charlotte as the theology of heaven became biography in the streets during the 39th Memorial of Roe v. Wade.  Alex Kendrick, star and director of the blockbuster hits Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous, led us into the battle using the brand new “Citise4Life” stratagem.  We are now, “…pleading the case of the fatherless to win it.”  Jeremiah 5:28.  ~ Flip

Here is an article from the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Friday, January 20, 2012.  Remember Welsco, the company that was delivering containers of gas to the abortion mill in Little Rock?  When they found out that they were doing business with an abortion mill, they asked for their tanks back and made it clear that all business ties with the mill would be severed.  When the police came to help the company recover the containers, they were asked to leave the premises.  Welsco is now having to sue the abortion mill to get their empty containers back.  What a “good neighbor” the abortion industry is.     ~ Flip

Mike Warren, in a few simple words, reminds us all of what we are to be about this 39th Memorial of Roe v. Wade, as we consecrate ourselves again to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords – JESUS!    ~ Flip

Dear Friends,

Here are some considerations as we approach the 39th Anniversary of the Roe Vs. Wade decision and the murder of 60 million unborn children.

 Rev. Mike Warren

Rescue Rochester

Memorial & Consecration

Each year at this time, memorials are held around our nation focusing on the United States Supreme Court Roe vs. Wade decision, and the fallout that has occurred from that horrendous act. Since 1973 and the overturning of every abortion law in these United States, nearly 60 million babies have been murdered, millions of women and men wounded, and the medical profession tainted. The blood that has been spilled has a voice and though we may be deaf to its cry; it echoes loudly in heaven and heaven listens. Our nation has tasted some of the unintended consequences of turning its back on the law of God; unfortunately, there is much more on the way. American responses to this tragedy have come and gone and some continue.

But as we prepare for another Roe memorial, let’s take a look in the mirror. The mirror of God’s word and remember who we, ministers and lay people alike, are supposed to be. We need to dust off the historical accounts of victories won when the saints influenced and changed the culture rather than reflected it. The victories of slavery overturned in the West, temple prostitution banned in India, the rise of the status and protection of women, the rise of hospitals and the care of the needy and the sick, the demise of tyranny, all these and more find their nexus in the gospel of Jesus Christ. These were not just legislative victories but victories that reflected change in the heart condition of the citizens.

These changes were brought on by the power of the gospel released by passionate and pointed preaching that addressed the bondages and vices of the age and by a response of repentance and action by the Christian that heard.

Consecration is defined as “the act or ceremony of separating from a common to a sacred use, or the devoting and dedicating a person or thing to the service of God,” (Webster’s 1828 Dictionary) This January 22 we need to incorporate consecration gatherings rather than just memorials as we reflect on the fallout of the Roe vs. Wade decision. 60 million babies murdered calls for nothing less than desperate yielding to the Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let’s newly consecrate ourselves, not to a cause, but to Him who saved us and washed us from our sins, separating ourselves anew unto Jesus. When that occurs our faith will be evidenced with actions and victory will not be afar off.

Alex Kendrick of the blockbuster movie hits Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous, will be joining us in the streets as we call for men of courage to face the giant of abortion and “…plead the case of the fatherless to win it.”  Jeremiah 5:28.

God bless you all as you lift up the name of Jesus and plead the case of His precious preborn children this week.  The gates of hell cannot prevail against you.

Give ‘em heaven in Jesus’ magnificent Name! ~ Flip

Press Conference, January 20, 2012

Operation Save America will be announcing a new national project to end abortion in America on the 39th Memorial of Roe v. Wade in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. On Friday, January 20, 2011, at 11:30 AM, Rev. Flip Benham and Rev. Rusty Thomas of Operation Save America will conduct a national press conference at “Liberty Square” on the corner of Trade and Tryon to announce a new national campaign to bring abortion to an end in America.

The Lord has greatly blessed us with a special guest that will be joining us for this momentous occasion. Alex Kendrick, from the blockbuster movies, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous, has agreed to join us and endorse the campaign.  We pray God will use him to inspire Christian men throughout the land to rise up and join the battle for the souls of men, the lives of children, and the future of our nation.

 Operation First Abortion Free State

“…they do not plead the case of the fatherless to win it.”  Jeremiah 5:28

For too long now, we have waited for election cycles and depended upon pro-life politicians to end the abortion holocaust savaging America.  Unfortunately, politicians will plead the case of the fatherless to gain our vote or to raise funds, but they will never plead their case to win it.

It has been 39 years since that day of infamy on January 22, 1973, when our Supreme Court unleashed the floodgates of hell and murder upon this nation.  Today, close to 60 million children are dead.  For 39 years the Church of Jesus Christ has sat silently by and tolerated a sin that is destroying our nation.  NO MORE!

NO MORE, will we sit idly by while little children die.  NO MORE, will we wait for the President, the Congress, the Supreme Court, or any political party to save the lives of preborn children.  NO MORE, can will we coexist with child-killing.  Our national survival hangs in the balance.  WE ARE AT WAR!

Operation Save America is embarking on a national campaign called States of Refuge: Operation First Abortion Free State.  Currently, there are five states (Arkansas, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming) with one remaining abortion mill.  Our purpose is to bring churches and pro-life ministries to each state and allow God to give us the first abortion-free state in America.

“Abortion will come to an end in America when the Church of Jesus Christ makes up her mind it will come to an end – and not one second sooner!” said Flip Benham, Director of Operation Save America.  “When the theology of heaven becomes biography in the streets – we win!  When the first domino falls – the rest will soon follow.”

Rev Rusty Lee Thomas, Assistant Director of Operation Save America, proclaimed, “Let the liberation of America begin and let the church of the living God lead the way, one state at a time. Operation: First Abortion Free State seeks to apply the axe of God’s truth to the root of this idolatrous tree (abortion) in the hopes that our Lord will hear from heaven, forgive our sins, and heal our broken, wounded land.  Throughout this yearlong commitment (January 22, 2012 – January 22, 2013) several Christian/Pro-life ministries will come to these states and, “…plead the case of the fatherless to win it.”’

Pastor Bobby Wilkinson led us in our praise and worship during our National Event in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the summer of 2010.  Many of you know him.  He was also a pastor in our church (Kerygma) before he went on to be a pastor at Providence Church in Denver, North Carolina.  God has given him great insight into the call of the church to stand in the gap on behalf of her preborn brothers and sisters. ~ Flip

You all remember Kristin McCora.  Her last name was Wilson when you knew her and she was helping us to bring the theology of heaven to become biography at the gates of hell in Charlotte.  She married Edwin McCora this past September.  She and Edwin were both banned for life from Central Church of God in Charlotte because they  had the gall to bring the horrible truth about abortion to the door of their own mega-church.  She has written a powerful article about why the lukewarm church hates Tim Tebow.  Enjoy!  ~ Flip

There are three types of people in this world who hate Tim Tebow.

1.)    Genuine Florida Gator haters, i.e. Florida State or Miami Hurricane fans

2.)    Genuine Denver Bronco loathers, i.e. Raiders, Chargers or Chief fans

3.)    People who cannot stand to see a Christian living out his faith, living wholesomely, morally, doing well and giving the glory to God.

We typically call people within the number three group liberals; however, it is shocking, and yet not shocking at all, that many people who uncontrollably despise Tim Tebow label themselves as Christians.  Since the first two groups are completely legitimate reasons for hating in the world of football, I will focus on the third, and largest, group of Tim Tebow haters.

What is it about Tim Tebow that arouses such opinion?  Most people either love him or despise him.  There doesn’t seem to be any indifference in feeling, like there is with other professional athletes.  So, why all the fuss?  Why all the hate-mongering and mockery and nay-saying about this young man – his talent, his faith and his life?  Why does this man incite some to cheers and many, many others to jeers?  Why all the hate, instead of simple indifference?  The answer lies in one simple verse relating to Jesus’ words to the disciples – “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake.”  Matthew 10:22  You see, the world first hated Jesus (John 15:18), a man completely blameless and without sin.  A man, sent by God himself, our Creator, to die for the world to save us all from our sins and to give us life abundantly and yet the world still hated Him.  The world despised a baby born poor in a lowly manger (Luke 2:7), a child who obeyed his parents (Luke 2:51), a man who healed the sick, forgave the sinners, drove out the demons, loved the unlovable, helped the helpless, brought harm to no one, and was still hated by this world.  A man who willingly gave over his life to be betrayed, slandered, spat on, hit, abandoned,  beaten and abused, mocked and ultimately killed so that those inflicting the pain, and all those after, might be saved and have eternal life, was still hated by the world.

So, if they hated Him, they will of course hate His followers, His real followers.

Why Tim Tebow?  There are plenty of professional football players who identify as Christian, say prayers before the game and even throw up a finger towards the heavens after scoring a touchdown or make a great play, so why the smear campaign of Tebow?  Because he represents so much more!  He is a true witness, reaching millions, influencing and inspiring and spreading the gospel any chance he gets, whether through his eyes as a college player, his interviews as a professional, or simply his life song.  He speaks of Jesus constantly.  Jesus, the name that makes some rejoice and others tremble.  His love for the Lord is unwavering, and the world can’t stand that.

He has stated he’s a virgin, so the world reacts by either painting him as a liar, or demeaning him to the likings of a prude, possible homosexual, or Ned Flanders.  Forget that it’s virtuous, respectable, and by all accounts commanded by the Lord.  The world complains about rising STD numbers in college aged America and rant and rave about teenage pregnancies and unwed single mothers, but then chastises the man who keeps himself void of these dangers and pure for his future wife.  And let’s be honest, it’s not like he’s not had the opportunity.  A man of his stature, talent, and I must say, incredible good looks, most certainly will not have a hard time finding a date, if he so chooses.  Even my husband has a man-crush on the guy, and my husband has impeccable taste.

Tim Tebow also “Tebows”, which outrages the world.  They’ll paint him as any type of selfish, self-serving, arrogant, insensitive, demonic villain possible to stop this from happening.  The world can’t stand to see God be glorified, which is exactly what “Tebowing” is.  Every time Tim drops to his knee, he is humbling himself to our Almighty God.  He is saying, “not me Lord, but you.”  Haters want to demonize this act stating he is asking God for touchdowns and wins and is therefore despicable.  Well, if he is asking the Lord for touchdowns and wins, he isn’t the first athlete and I’m sure won’t be the last.  Even non-believing athletes will send up a shout out to “god” under the right pressure and circumstance.  And what working American hasn’t prayed for a raise, a bonus, or a better job?  What about the countless prayers that goes up for new cars, better pensions, or finances to stop the foreclosure process?  And guess what?  All these prayers are fine for the Bible teaches us in countless verses that God is concerned with every area of our life.

But the presumption to assume he’s asking for a touchdown is ridiculous anyways.  Based on Tebow’s life example, he is most likely thanking God.  But regardless of what he is telling the Lord, it is an act of submission to God Almighty.

“Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

I do believe football games fall under the realm of all.  For it is God that gave Tim his talent, and it is God that directed his steps (Proverbs 16:9) and Tebow should forever hit his knee to give the glory to God, who has the power to easily take it all away.

The haters in group number three come out with every spew and lie possible to stop Tim from praying.  The most ridiculous argument I’ve heard so far is that God is allowing other people to suffer to help Tim Tebow.  Absolutely absurd!!  By making such claims that God ignores other prayers and other situations diminish God’s power.  God is omnipotent.  He is everywhere.  He hears every prayer.  He doesn’t forsake anyone during the Bronco game and it’s just another pathetic tactic to try to bring shame to Tim’s worship.

In addition, Tebow lives his life helping others.  He spends much of his time off the field volunteering and helping others in their life.  He raises money for causes dear to his heart, and dear to the Lord’s.  He spends time at Uncle Dick’s Orphanage in the Philippines and supports them financially as well.  His foundation supports The W15H program which fulfills the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses whose wish is to meet Tim Tebow.  The foundation has partnered with CURE on an International Children’s Hospital Construction Project.  CURE exists to provide both physical and spiritual healing.  Why would this trouble the world?  Because what do we do all day?  What do you do all day?  The average American watches more than 4 hours of television a day.  Put that on top of a typical 8 hour work day, that doesn’t leave much time for helping others.  The world hates others who do what they should be doing but aren’t.  We should all be helping others in one form or another, but most people are too involved with their own lives.  For more information on Tim’s foundation, visit http://www.timtebowfoundation.org/

Tim Tebow just seems to have it all together and for that the world hates him.  Jealousy invokes a bitter emotion of hate, and from all standpoints, he has many reasons to be envied, but the Lord commands “Do not covet” Exodus 20:17.

The pro-aborts really hate him for he represents something very dangerous to their agenda – Life.  His mother was pressured by her doctors to abort Tim because they stated he would possibly be a stillborn or have life threatening, debilitating issues, due to a severe placental abruption, yet she still chose life.  This fact alone creates more rage to them than the picture of the aborted baby Malachi, because he exposes their evil lies and he isn’t going away.  They hate him because he is life.  They prefer him dead, even calling on other pro-aborts to donate money to abortion clinics every time he makes a touchdown. See the hypocrisy of the lie “pro-choice”?  They do not celebrate his mom’s choice to give life.  They hate her and they hate him.  They try to shut his message up, causing uproar over his 30 second Super Bowl Commercial for Focus on the Family, and they want to use his talent and his successes to provide money to kill others, lest there be more Tim’s.

They hate him because he’s not backing down.  With countless criticism from every angle, Tim’s faith and message is unwavering.

The bottom line, however, is Tim is hated because he is a real Christian.  He doesn’t just list it as his religion on Facebook because it seems to be the one that fits.  He doesn’t just go to church on Easter and Christmas.  He doesn’t just claim to be a Christian on Sunday and go about worldly living during the week.  He talks the talk and walks the walk.  If the world hated a man who did no wrong and came to love and spread good news, then it makes perfect sense that they will hate the man trying to follow in His footsteps.  It stands to reason that the world would hate him.

So keep on hating groups 1 and 2, and world, we were told of your kind many years ago, but if you call yourself a Christian and Tim conjures a rage, discomfort, anger or fury inside of you, you need to examine yourself as to why.  You need to examine your true relationship with Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, because it is not Tim that you have the issue, but the One he follows instead.

No matter who wins next week’s football game against the New England Patriots, we can be sure that Tim Tebow will drive a stake (the Gospel Truth) right into the heart of the world, the flesh, and the devil.  We know for certain that God will be glorified no matter who wins.  That victory will come right out of Tim’s mouth.  The world wants him to “shut-up.”  His own flesh demands that he temper his speech – it’s scary to speak like Tim.  The devil is doing everything to terrify and intimidate him: “You’re going to fail…you don’t have the skills…pray in your closet like the Word of God says.”  Yet Tim continues to wield God’s Word for all to hear.

Let’s face it, Tim has done more to spread the true gospel of Christ across this land and throughout the world than all of our mega-churches put together.  Do you know why?  Long before he was given this platform to proclaim Christ, he was faithful in the little things he was given to do, just as David was faithful in shepherding those few sheep his father had given him to care for.

“He chose David His servant and took him from the sheep pens; from tending the sheep He brought him to be shepherd of His people Jacob, of Israel His inheritance.  And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them. Psalm 78:70-72.

If you are faithful in the little things, you will be an instrument God can use in the big things.  As a young boy, David killed a Philistine giant and champion Goliath.  This was the same giant that terrified King Saul and all of Israel and caused them to hide in caves rather than fight.  This little shepherd boy did the impossible and all of Israel was talking about him.  Though his way was rough and his companions few, this little shepherd boy eventually became a great king.  Tim Tebow didn’t just happen.  He was brought through God’s refining fire.

King David shepherded God’s people with integrity of heart, because he had first learned how to shepherd his father’s lambs in the field when no one was watching.  When the lion or the bear came and carried off one of his father’s lambs, David went after it, struck it, killed it, and rescued the lamb (1 Sam 17: 32-37).  Note: the lion and the bear were not coming after David, they just wanted lunch.  But David considered his life as nothing to rescue those who could not defend themselves.  This kind of mettle and steely character does not just happen.

The world hates guys like this and will do all it can to make them look like educationally deprived, Psalm singing, Jesus freaks, who lean on a myth named Jesus.  Like David before him, Tim Tebow is a young man with integrity of heart who has learned how to lay his life down (daily) that Christ might be glorified in him – win or lose.  For Tim, it is not about wins and losses, it is about“Let[ting] your light so shine before men that they might see your good works and give praise to your Father in Heaven.”  Matthew 5:16.

What?  Not concerned about wins and losses?  Yep, there is something greater in life than winning football games.  Incomprehensible!

Has any pastor let the light of the gospel of Christ shine through him any brighter than Tim Tebow has in these days?  Several pastors have told me that they believe in Tim’s message, but believe he has gone way off the chart in his “jesus, Jesus, JESUS” method of presenting the gospel.  He needs to tone it down and be more like Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers who is a Christian, but not so pushy and judgmental.

You know, it wasn’t until they told me that Aaron Rodgers was a Christian, that I found out that he was.  Why is that?  Because Aaron Rodgers has never mentioned the name of Jesus in my hearing, and I have seen alot of him on television.  Aaron has not used the incredible platform God has given him to glorify Christ and give Him praise.  Why not?  I suppose the world got a hold of him and told him to shut-up.  His own flesh screamed, “They’ll call you a Jesus freak!”  And the devil (that false giant) boasted, “You do it, you die!”

Yes, the world, the flesh, and the devil hate Tim Tebow and, surprisingly, so does the skinny jean, milquetoast, lukewarm church of today.  Why?  Because Tim Tebow has become a “living parable” and rebuke to all of us.  God is painting a very graphic picture of what a real Christian should be and do.  When words fail God speaks to us in parables so that we may see pictures of what He has in mind.  Tim Tebow is that “living parable.”

You know what?  Compared to Tim Tebow, I have been weighed in the scales and found wanting.

Tim Tebow’s parents have honored their marriage covenant before God.  So much for divorce and the idea that we no longer need the institution of marriage.

Tim Tebow’s mother was told to abort him or she would die.  She chose life so that Timmy might live.  He lived, thank God, and so did she.  So much for abortion.

Tim Tebow is a virgin.  Can you imagine the disdain of the NFL and the world?  So much for premarital sex, homosexual sex, or any sex outside of marriage.

Tim Tebow has a father.  Tim’s dad built biblical principles into the life of his son and disciplined him to be a man trained for the gospel battle.  So much for the idea that women don’t need fathers to raise children.

Tim Tebow has a family.  That means a mom and dad, two brothers and two sisters.  So much for the idea of one kid or no kids. So much for two dads, or two moms, or multiple moms.

Tim Tebow has a mission.  It is to bring glory to God.  This is the big thing.  So much for winning and losing football games.  These are little things.

Football games are, indeed, little things.  But, notice to the New England Patriots, Tim has trained himself that to be faithful in the little is to be faithful in much.  Watch out!
