The Glorious Incarnation

In a couple of weeks the world will celebrate Christmas. As the years march on, the controversy surrounding this day magnifies. The mainstream church seeks to defend its language, “Merry Christmas” from the Christ denying “Happy Holiday” or “Winter Solstice” substitutions. Some Christians view it as an unholy alliance between Christianity and paganism, which should be avoided like the plague. Of course, the same case is made for Holy Week and the celebration of our Lord’s resurrection. In typical fashion, the God-hating world consistently dishonors the significance of Christ by substituting His preeminence with pagan themes. The question then becomes, should we throw out the baby with the bath water? In other words, should we reject God’s original due to satanic counterfeits? I’ll leave these questions to each man’s conscience to consider.

The view of Christmas has other implications as well. Some Protestants cringe at the last three letters mas as it may be a reference to the Catholic Mass. Some point out that Christ was not born on December 25th, so why even bother. Others seek to avoid the commercialism surrounding the birth of Christ by concentrating on the “reason for the season.” Obviously, Christmas has become many things to many people.

But whether people honor or protest Christmas, its annual commemoration is certain. I suspect it will remain this way for the foreseeable future. Minimally, the merchants of the earth have a vested interest to secure the day if for no other reason than to boost their bottom line. The purpose for this article, however, seeks to understand the birth of Christ from a Biblical perspective. Does the Bible honor the event? If so, in what ways is the birth of Christ distinguished?

There is no doubt the God of the Bible viewed it as a major production. There were several hundred prophecies, types, and shadows that predicted, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given (Isaiah 9:6).” In fact, there are over three hundred prophecies concerning the Messiah interwoven throughout the Old Testament. Some of them are duplications of the same prophecy. For instance, the prophecy concerning Jesus being from the house of David is repeated about fourteen times. The prophecy that foretells the birth place of Messiah as the city of Bethlehem is repeated five times (Micah 5:2). The number of non-repeating distinct prophecies, however, comes in at about one hundred and ninety.

M.B. Bleecker, an engineer, took one hundred and fifty of these noteworthy prophecies that Jesus fulfilled and calculated the odds of His fulfilling them all. The odds of one man fulfilling one hundred and fifty prophecies in one lifetime are one in –

1,039,851,278,722,473,896,502,516,467,047,788,121,009,514,090,594,304

The odds of Jesus fulfilling just eight of them in His lifetime are one in –

100,000,000,000,000,000

Following up on this mathematical probability, consider Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Moody Press, 1963). Mr. Stoner demonstrates that coincidence is ruled out by the science of probability. Stoner suggests that by using the modern science of probability in reference to eight prophecies, “we find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 1017.” That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. In order to help us comprehend this staggering probability, Stoner illustrates it by supposing that “we take 1017 silver dollars and lay them over the face of Texas, so that they cover all of the state two feet deep.”

Mr. Stoner continues:

Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man.

In the realms of astronomy, the Star of Bethlehem has garnered for itself “the world’s most famous celestial event” in history. God rearranged the heavens as a sign that something of dramatic worth was transpiring upon the earth. Of course, it was never a common occurrence that the heavens would open and a choir of angelic hosts would appear to sing praise to God as they bring “good tidings of great joy.” What was the reason for such a bodacious display? They were carrying a divine message, which stated, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

The Bible records that there was no small stir to the holy announcement. The most famous response came from the woman who was chosen to conceive and give birth to the Son of God. Today, we recognize Mary’s prophetic reply as the Magnificat. Pay close attention to her declarations as it pertains to this poor fallen world. Mary cries out:

My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; as he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Mary acknowledges the incredible favor that has been demonstrated to her personally. Beyond personal considerations, she proclaims that there will be powerful ramifications that will greatly impact the world. Wrongs will be righted. Justice will eventually prevail. Oppression in due course will cease. Tyrants, dictators, the ruling elite, and the proud will be cast down. The hungry, poor, outcast, and disenfranchised will be helped. All this and more is guaranteed by the promise God spoke to Abraham and is now coming to pass with the birth of Christ. Is this something that should be ignored or should it be shouted from the rooftops now and forever more.

The theological term for this glorious event is called the Incarnation. In general terms it means in the flesh or to become human. When it comes to the birth of Christ, however, who or what is becoming human or coming in the flesh? The Gospel according to John grants us the Biblical meaning, John 1:1 and 1:14 states:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The denial of the Incarnation is what actually constitutes the dreadful designation the Bible calls Anti-Christ. Any person, religion, or philosophy that denies Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is Anti-Christ (1 John 4:1-3). Perhaps, there is more to this Christmas business than meets the eye. Remarkably, the same Word that spoke the heavens and the earth into existence, the same Word canonized in the Bible, the same Word that God sent to heal us, and deliver us from destruction became flesh and dwelt among us. One of the specific words is the fulfillment of Isaiah 7:14 which states, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Matthew interprets the name Immanuel as God with us. C. S. Lewis defined the significance of the Incarnation as “The Son of God became a man so that men could become the sons of God.”

The first mention of the promise of the Incarnation traces back to Genesis 3:15. God promised, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Normally, I present this passage of Scripture to teach on the battle that is raging for the souls of men, the lives of children, and the future of our planet. For this article, however, the emphasis will change. The spot light will focus on this passage as the first mention of the glorious Gospel of the Kingdom and the Incarnation as God’s remedy to correct the fall of man. To make this possible God had to establish a seed line.

God tapped Abraham and said, “I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.” Why did God choose Abraham? This might have something to do with it. Genesis 18:19 states, “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”

The promise of Messiah passed from Abraham to Isaac from Isaac to Jacob. Jacob had twelve sons, which became the twelve tribes of Israel. Out of the twelve tribes, the tribe of Judah was chosen. Genesis 49:10 promised, “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” Out of the tribe of Judah, the House of David was chosen. 2 Samuel 7:12, 13 declares:

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

Finally, the book of Galatians announces The Promise is born. Galatians 4:4, 5 records, “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”

Having traced the seed line that brought about the Glorious Incarnation, it is time to explore what this means to us and this poor fallen world? There are many wonderful blessings associated with the Incarnation, but for our purposes, I’d like to concentrate on just two of them. One is corporate that concerns the world and the other is individual.

The corporate implications of the Incarnation are discovered in Isaiah 9:6, 7. God’s word states:

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

When did the Kingdom of God come and the establishment of God’s government commence? When the Son was given and the Holy Child was born. What does this mean in the real world? “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever (Revelations 11:15).” How or when shall it completely take place? All we need to know is “the zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform it.”

The Gospel according to Luke reveals how Christmas relates to us as individuals. God’s word states:

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Luke 1:28-35).

Biblically, the same manner in which Mary conceived Christ physically is the same manner we receive Christ spiritually. Be it unto us according to thy Word. 1 Peter 1:23 affirms this powerful truth, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” James concurs, “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls (James 1:21).” The Apostle Paul agrees as well, “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 3:15).”

The circumstances surrounding the birth of Christ into our poor fallen world are highly significant as well. There was no room for him in the inn. This world and each sinner in it have a natural repulsion towards Christ. We suppress the truth in unrighteousness. We reject the light and walk in darkness for fear our evil deeds will be exposed. We go astray from the womb because we are conceived in sin. We are born alienated from God and seek to be a law and god unto ourselves. Thus for many, there is no room in our wicked hearts for Christ.

He was born in a stinky stable and laid in a manger. The manger was not a crib, but a feeding trough for animals. To think that the King of the universe chose this humble estate in which to become one of us is quite humbling. What a powerful depiction of the state of our lives before the King of Glory by the power of the Holy Ghost takes up residence in our immoral lives. We suffer from stinking thinking and sinful actions. When Christ regenerates our lives, however, the sanctifying power of His precious blood goes to work to purify and cleanse our “smelly stables” or if you prefer, our darknened souls.

Lastly, the ruling elite were clueless as the lowly shepherds saw and heard the glorious announcement:

Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men (Luke 2:10-14).

So it is today, many glory in their riches, power, and wisdom, while those who are being saved boast in the Lord. In this way Christmas, among its many other accomplishments, also reveals our calling:

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Just as in His resurrection, Christ refused to appear to Pilate, Caesar, and the High Priest, but rather visited His rough and unsophisticated disciples, so at His birth, the angels appear to lowly shepherds and bypass the rich and famous. As Jesus grew into an adult; His attitude towards the proud never changed. He prayed, “I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes (Matthew 11:25).” “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out (Romans 11:33)!”

Much more can be shared about the implications of the Incarnation, but this will have to suffice for now. With that be said, I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and most blessed New Year in God’s Kingdom!

You will enjoy this and enjoy Rusty’s new book even more.  ~ Flip

Prolife Leader Calls Davis, Karpen, and Gosnell

“Poster Children for Abortion Violations”

Waco, Texas-With the recent media furor surrounding Texas lawmaker Wendy Davis and her pro-abortion filibuster that violated senate procedural rules; Houston abortionist’s Douglas Karpen’s violation of the state of Texas’ mandated informed consent law; and Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s health violations, abortion related violations are front and center. Are these violations isolated incidents or are they warning signs of a hidden and sinister national crisis. According Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas, a Waco area pastor and author of the new book, Abortion Violation: America’s Premier National Security Issue, “The intrinsic nature of abortion is violation.”

ABORTION VIOLATION

In Abortion Violation, Thomas argues, “Abortion is a violator. It violates the sacred and the natural. It violates the credibility of the church and the state’s sacred trust to protect life. It violates childhood, motherhood, fatherhood, and families. It violates the medical profession and the health of women. Abortion violates everything it touches. The child in the womb is merely one victim. Yes, there are things that abortion does not violate. But those things-things like greed, lust, selfishness, blood lust-strengthen man’s inhumanity against man.”

Thomas calls Davis, Karpen and Gosnell, “Poster children for abortion violations.” He maintains, “Davis demonstrated there is nothing pro-abortionists won’t violate to advance their cause, whether it is violating procedural rules or the integrity of social media to create a false ‘tweet-storm.’ Such violations should not surprise us. It is the very nature of abortion.” Referring to Gosnell and Karpen, Thomas continues, “These two men are not aberrations. They symbolize the horrific violation that is abortion.”

AN APOLOGETICS FOR THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, Abortion Violation is a prolife reference book. Fourteen to-the-point chapters, written in conversational style, expose an area of life which abortion violates–personhood, family, law, God, true spirituality, the kingdom of God, the church, government, the medical profession, the biblical doctrine of blood guiltiness, race relations, the political left, the health of women, and our future. In logical and concise form, Thomas provides the theology necessary to foster a culture of life. A perfect reference for pro-lifers, home-schools, Bible studies, small groups studies, and law and history students; it retails for $24.99. For a complete listing of retail locations, book signings, book readings, and how to order your book on-line, visit: http://www.elijahmin.com.

Slated for national distribution in June, 2013, Abortion Violation is a comprehensive defense of the prolife position on abortion. A veteran pro-life leader, Thomas marries frontline activism with theological soundness. An ordained minister, Thomas’ book mines the depths of Christian theology and tradition, creating a much needed apologetics for the pro-life movement. Thomas is the assistant national director of Operation Rescue/Operation Save America. He is the director of Elijah Ministries and the founder and administrator of Rachel’s Park Memorial, one of the first memorial parks to the preborn in the nation. He currently serves as associate pastor to the Gospel of Life Ministries.

ENDORSEMENTS

“Rusty Thomas is a veteran who has been fighting our country’s greatest evil for decades. Better still, he is a man whose courage is matched by his tenderness. And so he knows of what he speaks. Abortion Violation should wake you up, inspire you, and drive you to your knees, which is exactly where we all need to be.”

Dr. R.C. Sproul Jr., Founder of Highlands Ministries

Teaching Fellow at Ligonier Ministries

“Among those of us who have dedicated our lives to fighting the scourge of legalized abortion, it is both natural and healthy that we do not all perceive the battle in the same way. In this book, Rusty gives a perspective that was born from the marriage of theological soundness and frontline activism. He shows us that the path America has chosen runs past shadows where the consequences of evil pace back and forth like hungry tigers. They stare at us and they wait for their moment, and the only question is whether we will turn back before God’s protective patience runs out.”

Mark Crutcher, President, Life Dynamics Incorporated

“I’ve been blessed to have met a lot of great Christian brothers and sisters over the last thirty years. Some have been intercessors, others thinkers, some communicators and prophets, and then there are the warriors. But Rusty is the rarest of the ‘rare-bird’ aviary I have been privileged to nest in: a man who combines all these vital gifting and callings into one bald-headed Elijah-like package. He is a man for these ‘cup of the Amorite’ (Genesis 15:16) times. And this important book is just his latest communiqué from the front lines.”

Eric Holmberg, Founder of the Apologetics Group

FROM THE FOREWORD

“I have spent many years in the battle alongside Pastor Rusty. We have heard each other preach on many occasions, in Churches, out on the public streets of America, at memorial services and in front of the structures of power in Washington, D.C. and various state capitals…In all of this, I have always been inspired by Pastor Rusty’s deep commitment to this cause. His life shows a heart broken over abortion. He has shed tears for the babies. And this is what it takes. One of my favorite memories of times with Pastor Rusty [was when] he was giving the sermon at a national pro-life rally, and he was quoting Saint Paul who said that he does not fight as if he was shadow-boxing. And Rusty was jumping all over the stage making this point, quoting Paul and swinging his hands in the air. “And when the Church swings,” he proclaimed at the top of his voice, “She’s supposed to hit something!” Pastor Rusty swings and hits the evil of abortion with this book. ”

Dear Champion of the Lord and the Preborn,

I just got off the phone with Brother Flip Benham, who recently sent out the incredible report of the Lord’s victories against the abortion industry in Charlotte, NC. One note of correction, however, North Carolina may allow the abortion mill they shut down to reopen. The saints are working to see this does not take place. Please pray for them and this situation.

The 40th year of the infamous Roe vs. Wade decision has set in motion jaw dropping, divine interventions, which are defeating the culture of death. Flip asked me to write up an account of the prophetic journey that has proclaimed vision and mission throughout our nation, which has led to God watching over His Word to perform it. At his request, this following report gives this brief history. Enjoy!

The 40th Year Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade

It was in New Orleans, a few years ago, when the Spirit of the Lord birthed a word. I was getting ready to preach at New Covenant Fellowship with Pastor Bill Shanks. Before the service, the need to pray and prepare to minister to God’s people emerged. I wandered in the back of the church and stumbled upon the intercessors. The room was energized with the presence and power of God. There was no problem entering in and praying. Soon afterward, a word began to bubble up in my spirit man. I do not know how many times I repeated it. It could have been forty, but each time it was declared, more holy passion and volume accompanied the proclamation. What was this word? Simply, “IN THE 40th YEAR!”

Intellectually, most of us in the battle recognized the 40th year of Roe vs. Wade was fast approaching. Biblically, we also knew the number 40 was significant. Scholarly theologians have long recognized the number 40 in Scripture as a key number. Mainly, they agree that the frequency of its occurrences and the uniformity of its association with periods of probation, trial, and chastisement establish a consistent Biblical pattern. Likewise, Operation Save America believed the 40th year of Roe v. Wade held tremendous implications for our nation as it pertains to these same Biblical themes manifesting in our day.

Together, the word from New Orleans combined with the knowledge of the impending 40th year anniversary of Roe vs. Wade gave birth too much prayer. We sought the Lord on divine strategies that would help turn the tide and help end the American holocaust that was savaging our nation. In this righteous pursuit, however, we never sought to exchange God’s truth for political strategies. No, we asked for strategies that would honor the Lord as we stood squarely upon His Word. For we are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was, is, and will always be the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16).

States of Refuge Campaign

It was this prayerful seeking of the Lord that gave birth to the States of Refuge vision and mission. The Bible warns, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). In keeping with our mission, Operation Save America reaches out to the church and requests she not wait for the President, the Congress, or the Supreme Court to save America and stop the shedding of innocent blood. We are way beyond a political solution to what ails our beleaguered nation.

We believe it is time for the church of Jesus Christ to rise up and take her rightful place at the gates of hell. They cannot prevail against the church of the living God (Matthew 16:18). There is a direct connection between our spiritual and moral state and the litany of woe upon our bloodstained land. States of Refuge is part of a kingdom strategy for taking back the gates of our land and restoring our nation in righteousness. The reason is self-evident, we cannot indefinitely ignore that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34).

Operation Save America’s ultimate goal is to help end the American holocaust that has invoked God’s just wrath upon our nation. We desire to give God a reason to show mercy to our perverse and crooked nation. The immediate goal is to establish the first abortion-free states since Roe v. Wade. To create, as it were, states of refuge. There are five states (Arkansas, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming) with one remaining death camp defiling our bloodstained land. These locations represent the abortion industry at their weakest and most vulnerable point. It also provides the Church of Jesus Christ with the greatest opportunity to achieve victories against the American holocaust savaging our nation.

Keep in mind, there are also a few states that have two remaining abortion mills polluting the land. There are six altogether. They are Delaware (At this writing, Delaware maybe the first surgically abortion free state in America), Kentucky, Missouri (Missouri is down to one death camp), Nebraska, Rhode Island and West Virginia. Perhaps, if the momentum warrants, States of Refuge will focus God’s truth and love on these states as the next step in the march to liberate America from blood guiltiness, one state at a time.

Re-election of Barack Obama

We have not wavered in our assertion that Obama is God’s man. The Lord set him in high office to judge our nation for our manifold sins and abominations. In particular, the abominations of child sacrifice, the shedding of innocent blood (abortion) and for parading our sin like Sodom (the homosexual agenda). If the church tolerates evil, the church becomes intolerable. Both Testaments attests to this Biblical and historical truth (Numbers 33:54-56; Matthew 5:13).

I can remember going into a deep state of mourning when America re-elected Bill Clinton. We knew his character and godless agenda and our nation still voted him back to power. It was unthinkable to me and yet it happened. Obama is Clinton on steroids. Just when you think there could never be a worse politician to curse our nation, Obama came out of nowhere and obliterated the Clinton political machine. I predict the day will come when what is left of America will be stupefied to discover that Obama was an incredible fraud. A treacherous imposter that masqueraded as our president.

When the results came in on Obama’s second term, however, instead of going into a state of mourning, a spirit of joy arose in my spirit. I knew this was not a natural response to the plight of our nation. This was supernatural. As I was curious to discern this strange reaction, the Lord spoke to me. I heard Him as clear as I ever had heard Him in my life. He declared, “NOW SEE WHAT I WILL DO!” America has made her choice and set her course. In the midst of this, “Now see what I will do!”

This rhema word came to me in November of 2012. I immediately had my wife bear witness to the revelation and recorded it. I called other trusted leaders like Rev. Flip Benham and submitted the word to them. Fast forward to Operation Save America’s 40th anniversary commemoration of Roe vs. Wade in Jackson, MS. in January of 2013. Mississippi stands on the verge of making history as the first state without a surgical clinic, which performs abortions. We thought it providential to commemorate the 40th year anniversary of Roe vs. Wade at this strategic time and state.

While I was driving from Waco, TX to Jackson, MS, God confirmed the word he spoke to me in November. I was listening to the book of Exodus in our Bible Reading Schedule. It was at the point where Moses finally obeyed the Lord, confronted Pharaoh, declared God’s word, “Let My People Go” and everything blew up in Moses’s face. Pharaoh denied God’s authority and increased the burden upon God’s people by decreeing, “You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle” (Exodus 5:7, 8a).

Heart broken, Moses poured out his complaint, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all” (Exodus 5:22, 23). It was at this critical juncture the Lord spoke a powerful Word to Moses. The Lord stated, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land” (Exodus 6:1).

When I heard these words “Now you shall see what I will do,” it was as if a spiritual atomic bomb exploded in my soul. I almost veered off the highway. It was the words that the Lord spoke to me by His Spirit in November, but now was being affirmed by His Word in January.

Since that time, in numerous ways, we have observed God’s word come to pass. Report after report announces victory after victory in the battle for men’s souls, the lives of children, and the future of our nation. Every time I hear an update, one word rises up, “Now see what I will do!”

There have been an outbreak of abortion mills closing down throughout our nation. Keep in mind, this is transpiring while we have the most pro-abort president in our history who had the audacity to pronounce God’s blessing upon Planned Parenthood. The Lord is using the Gosnell trial to pull away the curtain to expose the atrocities and deplorable condition associated with the merchants of death.

At this writing, Delaware has no more surgical abortion mills operating in their state. Four of the five States of Refuge are hanging by a thread as they race to become abortion free. Soon, one of them will cross the finish line. Other abortionists, like James Pendergraft, are being pursued by the legal system. We hope they will eventually plunder his bloody empire. Other abortionists are quitting their grisly trade as in the case of Harris and Flood in Charlotte, NC. More pastors are leading their congregations to the death camps in their city. Street preaching networks are converging at the exposed areas. Time will fail me to recount all that is happening in these tumultuous times. One thing, however, is sure. God is watching over His Word, “Now see what I will do” to perform it. In this, we greatly rejoice!

Please enjoy these reviews on Rusty’s new book.  These are just a few of those coming in after reading “Abortion Violation.”  ~ Flip

Our newest book is beginning to be read by precious men and women of God we deeply love an respect. This is some of their comments and reviews.

ALMOST 30 YEARS AGO I LEARNED THAT OUR FAMILY DOCTOR’S CLINIC HAD BEEN TAKEN OVER BY AN ABORTIONIST. OUTRAGED, THEN AND THERE I BECAME A “PRO-LIFE ACTIVIST”.

IT SEEMED TO ME THAT THE CHURCH’S RESPONSE WAS TO “SING A LITTLE LOUDER” ALONG WITH AN ANNUAL PRO-LIFE MESSAGE.

I HAD SO MUCH TO LEARN IN THOSE 30 YEARS. LESSONS THAT ENDURED HAVE COME LARGELY THROUGH RUSTY THOMAS’ WRITINGS AND LIFE. THE SPIRIT HAS USED HIS PERSEVERANCE AND TENDER HEART TO CHANGE MINE. AS I HEAR OF “THEOLOGY TAKEN TO THE STREETS” I HEAR WATCHMEN ON THE WALL AS WELL AS THE CRIES OF THE BABIES’ BLOOD.

NOW I’M FINDING “ABORTION VIOLATION” A THEOLOGICAL PRIMER (AS IN TO PRIME A PUMP). RUSTY PENETRATES TO THE VERY ROOTS OF ABORTION AND INSPIRES US TO NURTURE OBEDIENCE AND REPENTANCE AS HE DETAILS THE FULL EXTENT OF THIS NATION’S SIN.

MAY WE LEARN THESE LESSONS WELL.

This is one of the best pro-life books I’ve ever read. It’s by my good friend, Rusty Lee Thomas. It covers everything pertaining to the spiritual, political and ecclesiastical perspective on abortion, and ultimately gives each of us, not only the personal biblical prescription to stand and eliminate abortion, but also the missing “key” to restoring our nation back to its godly heritage. I highly recommend you read this book and pass it on to those in your church and family. -Pat Necerato, www.gostandspeak.com

I have finished reading your incredible book, “Abortion Violation.” I knew from the very first sentence, “buckle your seats, this will be Holy Ghost ride.” It was brilliantly written! If I never had met you Rusty, your book would have brought me to the deepest conviction and repentance and weeping on my knees, asking for forgiveness for apathy of “saying I am Pro-life, but doing nothing would make me the worst of all sinners.

I thank God for your insight to the heart of God, (which anguishes over the condition of His bride). The writing, simply prophetic as a clarion call to repentance as like the prophets of old. If there is any conviction in reading this book, it is because God Himself is doing the heart piercing, the author, Rusty, is simply delivering the message. God bless you, and I am deeply honored to know you in the trenches! -Pastor Dale Sochia, King Jesus Ministries

Dear Champion of the Lord and the Preborn,

Our newest book is going out and we are already receiving word the impact it is having upon those who have read it. In this, we rejoice. We pray the Lord continues to use the book to encourage, inspire, and convict people to repent and bring forth fruits meet for repentance.

Abortion Violation Testimonies

A year or so ago, I read a book called the “Kingdom Leadership Institute Manual,” by Rusty Thomas. That book impacted me in many ways – least of all my determination to take the Gospel outside the 4 walls of the Church and home study groups where it seems to be kept from the public. And now I am reading his newest book, “Abortion Violation,” and once again I feel the same conviction regarding me (and the rest of the Church) and the proclamation of the Gospel outside the four walls along with militant opposition to the slaughter of the unborn (by preaching the Gospel).

I said when I finished his first book that I “wandered through the mind of a genius.” (Editors note: God help us) And Rev. Rusty has not disappointed with his new book…God has certainly appointed the man for a time such as this. What Ray Comfort is to open-air preachers, Rev. Rusty Thomas is to the Abolition movement. He has been doing abolition work before the abolition movement started using the title “Abolition.” -Steve Bauer

I was introduced to Rusty Thomas a few years ago & his ministry to the pre-born shattered my perception given to me by the media and culture. I highly recommend you follow his ministry. His new book, “Abortion Violation” is now out. I had an opportunity prior to printing to see this book & I believe it will quickly become the “must have” book for Christians on this subject. -Abolitionist Society of Tulsa, Travis Yates

Brother Travis Yates wasted no time after the Lord sent him out to his local abortion mill recently in Tulsa, OK. The following is the letter he sent out to certain churches in his city.

Dear Pastor,

As you well know, the United States has entered into the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that institutionalized abortion-on-demand in our nation. For 40 years, the American church has been largely silent at the cost of over 55 million babies being legally murdered at the hands of abortionists and their clientele. We recognize that abortion is not a political issue or a social issue, rather it is a sin issue and therefore a Gospel issue, and that makes it the business of the Church.

The Abolitionist Society of Tulsa is a local chapter of the larger Abolish Human Abortion movement. We are members of local churches and our Director is specifically under the authority of his local church, Calvary Baptist Church (Sand Springs). We exist to abolish human abortion in the state of Oklahoma through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, loving our neighbors as ourselves through assistance, and exposing the works of darkness by engaging the culture of death about the reality of abortion. In this, we are obeying Christ’s command to make disciples and teaching them to obey all that Christ has commanded (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 12:30-31; Ephesians 5:11).

We understand the only way that human abortion will be criminalized in our state is if the Church wakes up to the reality of legalized child killing in America, children who have been sovereignly made in the image of God. Dr. John MacArthur recently sat down with Dr. R.C. Sproul to discuss the national tragedy of abortion-on-demand, and stated:

Our goal has to be to awaken the church.

We emphatically agree, which is why we are praying for and actively pursuing the awakening of the true Church of Jesus Christ to be a prophetic voice in this culture of death, and to engage in the spiritual warfare of preaching the Gospel and loving our neighbors as ourselves in a society that celebrates the shedding of innocent blood.

As the Body of Christ, we must do more to offer real hope and real assistance to abortion-minded and abortion-determined parents who are enslaved to sin. We, therefore, desire to understand what you are currently doing in your local community to be salt and light in the evil realm of abortion.

The late Francis Schaeffer somberly noted:

Every abortion clinic should have a sign over it saying: “This facility open by permission of the local church”

We invite you to take 15 minutes to watch a short film depicting Gospel-centered abortion mill ministry: 40 Years of the Smallest Stories Left Untold

We pray you will indeed answer the call to be faithful in obedience to the 1st and 2nd Greatest Commandments to include loving our pre-born neighbors being carried off to the slaughter (Proverbs 24:11).

The Abolitionist Society of Tulsa has numerous resources to help you become active in the abolition of human abortion. We invite you to our official website to begin understanding the work of abolitionism, and pray you will answer the call as soon as possible. We would love to list your church on our Church Support page.

Over 7,000 babies are slaughtered each year in Oklahoma or the equivalent of one Sandy Hook 1st grade classrooms every day of the year. One out of three pregnant women ends the lives of their children. Isn’t 40 years worth of innocent blood on our hands enough? Won’t you rise up to expose these works of darkness and proclaim the only Hope and Solution to the greatest evil of our age?

We eagerly await your response and look forward to working with you to the glory of our Great God and King, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

The Abolitionist Society of Tulsa

Please continue to pray that our book will spread far and wide and produce the good fruit of God’s Kingdom advancing to defeat the culture of death in Jesus’ name!

Thank God for Rachel’s Park Memorial. ~ Flip

Rededication Service, Sunday, March 24, 2013

 Rededication Svc

Thanks to all who came out and helped rededicate Rachel’s Park Memorial to the Lord and His little ones. It was a special time together. We had folks come from out of state to participate. Rich Hagen and his precious family came from Little Rock, AR and are desiring to establish a Rachel’s Park Memorial in their state. This would be a great blessing as we seek the Lord to establish one park in every state of the union.

Another brother from Little Rock, Thom Huey, drove a big rig, an 18 wheeler, to participate. He filmed a tour of the park and the entire ceremony. Most important, he came to mourn the loss of his child to abortion and honor her memory. The following is the plaque that will be soon mounted on the Wall of Remembrance.

Suzie Huey

Another family desires to do the same and we will soon mount another plaque. The following is the message delivered as we asked God to hallow these grounds with His Holy Presence.

First of all, I would like to thank all those locally and throughout our nation who helped with the funds, materials, and labor to restore Rachel’s Park Memorial. This last desecration was the third time our park was vandalized. It was by far the worst attack. The silver lining in this last assault was there seemed to be more of an outrage in the community and a response of compassion to restore the park. We thank the Lord that what the enemy means for harm; God can restore and turn to the good.

In 1991, there were more than 2000 free standing abortion mills defiling our land. Today, there are about 600 remaining still advancing the American holocaust under our watch. Roe vs. Wade is still considered the law of the land and yet abortion is going the way of every other tyranny of man. How is this possible? Gentle Christian living out their faith at the gates of hell knowing they shall not prevail against the church of the living God.

At some point, America will have to come to grips with our complicity and complacency concerning this grave evil against our own defenseless children. Many will be reminded of this horrendous sin against God and their brutal crime against their own nameless sons and daughters. Thus this deep, festering wound that has polluted and defiled our beloved land must be adequately cared for.

If you have your Bibles turn to Jeremiah 6:14. God’s words states, “They have also healed the hurt of my people slightly, Saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace.” Another translation reads, “They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious.” This was Jeremiah’s rebuke to the ministry of his day. Israel had plunged into perverse idolatry, which included child sacrifice, the shedding of innocent blood and the sexual immorality that inspired this pagan practice. The nation was hemorrhaging and too many people thought it was no big deal, when in fact; it truly was a big deal.

Rachel’s Park Memorial was built to treat the deadly wound of abortion that has afflicted our nation and its people. We did not want to be found in a position that Jeremiah described in his day. We wanted to adequately care for the wound that has savaged our nation for the last 40 years.

There are many post-abortive families who have availed themselves of this park. Most of them had a similar response, “We had nowhere to go.” Without human agencies, people burdened with the sin and crime of abortion come here and instinctively know they can grieve and mourn the loss of their children. There is testimony after testimony that details how God literally knocked folks to the dirt of this park. On these grounds, people have wept, wailed, and repented of murdering their children in the name of choice. When they stood up God blessed them with forgiveness, salvation, and deliverance. We pray these testimonies will continue as we seek with God’s aid to establish one park in every state of the union.

The Four-Fold Pillars of Rachel’s Park Memorial

We first dedicated this park to the Lord and His little ones 13 years ago. Today, we are having a rededication service. It is important, therefore to publicly acknowledge the four-fold vision and mission of Rachel’s Park Memorial. The four pillars are:

First, Rachel’s Park Memorial exists to bring glory, honor, and majesty to the true and living God; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, the God revealed in the Holy Bible. This park acknowledges Him as the Creator, Sustainer, Giver, and Governor of all life. It is our desire that this park uphold His revelation, truth, and laws that promote the sacredness of life and the protection they afford as opposed to the lie of the “quality of life” that has been utilized to exterminate millions of tiny American citizens in the womb of their mothers.

Second, Rachel’s Park Memorial seeks to advance the Gospel of the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To fulfill the Great Commission that calls upon all true believers to disciple the nations, baptize them, and to make sure the nations (which include America) keep the commandments of God (Matthew 28:18-20). To the glorious end that man might come to know the saving grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ by repenting of their sins and rebellion against God’s loving rule.

Third, the Park honors and memorializes our nameless sons and daughters that have been cruelly lost through the American holocaust called abortion. It is consecrated to restore the humanity, the dignity, and the personhood of our precious children America has denied since the infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court Decision on January 22nd, 1973. Thus, Rachel’s Park Memorial will become a resting-place for the innocent victims of abortion, prayerfully, in each state of the Union.

Lastly, RPM will seek God’s grace to provide post-abortive ministry for families that have been devastated by this grievous sin against God and this crime against humanity. Prayerfully, the park will provide for those who grieve the loss of their children a solemn place to receive God’s forgiveness, healing, and deliverance in Jesus’ name!

This past Sunday Rachael’s Memorial Park was rededicated to our Lord Jesus and continues its wonderful and liberating ministry to those who have killed their children through abortion.  So many have come to know the freedom found only in Christ as this Memorial ministers to those who have been involved in the horror of abortion.
