It was 3:30pm CT when I spoke with Flip. He and the team were just outside of Grand Junction, CO.
It's awesome the way the Lord continues to provide for them through the generosity of His people. Flip said the farrier, who was injured yesterday, called another farrier for them and told him that he would pay him double if he would come shoe Mercy and Judgment. The second farrier came but would only accept his normal fee. The injured farrier not only insisted on paying him, but insisted that our team take the payment refused by the second farrier! Flip, said, "It was a God thing." He added, with a chuckle, "So, we got paid for letting the farrier shoe our animals!"
A reporter from the Fruita (CO) Times did a story about them.
Flip visited briefly with a woman and her nephew. The nephew was coming off of amphetamines. Flip said the lady "kept referring to 'a higher power.' You know....that 12-step language..." Finally, just a bit frustrated, he asked her, "Yes, but do you know the name of that higher power?" The nephew knew "the name above every name," he immediately hollered out, "JESUS!"
Flip said they talked with a 30ish "agnostic/atheist," who told them, "I'm your worst enemy. You're probably doing this walk just for people like me." Of course, he was exactly right. Jesus said, "It is notthose who are healthy who need a physician, but those who aresick. Ihave not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Mark 2:17 .) Flip said, by the time they parted, he believes the man's hard heart had softened and seed had taken root.
