Here is Mike Warren’s report of what is happening in our preparations for the National event In Rochester, New York. ~ Flip

Rescue Rochester Preparing the Way for Our National Event July 24-31, 2013

By Mike Warren

Rescue Rochester was blessed to have two of our favorite people with us for our annual pro-life banquet, Friday, March 1, 2013, Flip and Faye Benham.  We actually asked Flip and Faye to be with us before we realized that the Lord desired Rochester to be this year’s stop on the Operation Save America gospel train journey.  That’s right!  Rescue Rochester has invited Operation Save America to town July 24-31. And it promises to be a time when God amazes our city, as His power and grace is released at the abortion mills and the streets of Rochester, NY. We have already seen a peak of interest and the rumblings of anticipation as we have begun to make preparations.

Twelve area pastors and ministry leaders attended an information brunch hosted by Rescue Rochester and met with Flip, Jerry and I.  We shared a meal and the vision of OSA/ROC was presented as well as a glimpse of what can happen in a city where the church takes up its rightful position and begins to rebuild the walls of righteousness, justice and mercy in its locale.  Flip shared that we as the church are more than we have become.  He then presented an amazing thing that God has done in Charlotte, NC.  Go to www.Cities4Life.org  to view two amazing video clips regarding how churches ministering on site at abortion mills and through other ministries are being used to save and restore lives.

Later that evening, 90 people from various churches attended our annual banquet.  We heard an amazing song recorded back in the mid 80’s “Fight the Fight” featuring classic contemporary Christian musicians, like Annie Herring, 2 Chapter of Acts, Andre Crouch, Dallas Holmes, and Melody Green sing and call the church to stand for the babies and our nation.   It will be our theme song for the event in Rochester.  It is powerful.

Flip, used his favorite story of The Lion King, to remind us, 21st Century American Christians, that we are more than we have become.  Just as the men of Ephraim (Psalm 78:9-11) neglected to use the bows they were armed with; so the American church has neglected to fight and contend for the gospel and righteousness at the exposed places in our society.  As Christians, we are called to fight and contend from the position of victory, for Jesus has already accomplished it.  That’s right.  We are called to do what has already been done.  We are called to, “do the done!”  That is the message we celebrate every Easter Season!  And this victory of Calvary and the Resurrection is revealed when Christians willingly show up at abortion mills and other exposed places of sin in our cities.  We win one life at a time.

God has given us the scripture to set our hopes on for this national event and we pray that you will join us in Rochester, NY this July 24-31st.  Let’s see what our God will do!  Is 60;1-3 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.”

It’s our turn now!

Yours for the Least of These,

Mike Warren & Jerry Crawford
