Today is consecrated to the Lord. It is time to say no to our bellies and the distractions of this world. It is time to press in for the next three days with a concentrated, collective effort by brethren throughout America to fast and pray.
Fast a meal, a day, or all three days. Take some time as an individual, family, and church to earnestly seek the Lord with this Biblical goal in mind from the prophet Isaiah.
“I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth” (Isaiah 62:6, 7).
By God’s grace determine to be a watchman on the wall to earnestly intercede for yourselves, family, the church, and our beleaguered nation. Pray specifically for the upcoming Solemn Assembly scheduled for Sunday evening, July 19th, from 7-9:30 pm.
We need to humble ourselves, cry out to God, and repent of our many sins as if our future and hope depends upon it, because it most certainly does.
