Religious Liberty and the Lesser Magistrate Doctrine

“Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places if you can find a man, if there is anyone who executes judgment, who seeks the truth, and I will pardon her” (Jeremiah 5:1).

As America “slouches towards Sodom,” communism, and Islam, what can Americans do to change our slide towards perdition? Clearly, we are living in dangerous, tumultuous times that demand answers, if we long for a future and a hope. Blatant immorality amongst our citizens combined with the rise of governmental tyranny threaten our survival. Our national sins and abominations (abortion, homosexuality etc.) have reached heaven and those that hate us rule over us (Psalms 106:34-42).

Many times in Israel’s history when she went a whoring after other gods, committed abominable idolatries, and allowed injustice to run rampant, God called for someone to make up the hedge and stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30). In those desperate times, watchmen upon the wall, guardians at the gate, and those needed to stand in the gap to interpose were necessary to avert national calamity.

Every national indicator points to the fact that America is in need of this kind of interposition today. We are clearly going the way of every other empire that dared to shake their puny fist in the face of a Holy God. Our nation calls evil, good and good, evil (Isaiah 5:20). There are serious woes associated with that moral confusion. We are experiencing them almost on a daily basis.

Our government, tragically, has chosen to codify much of this evil into law. Under the color of law, lawlessness, immorality, injustice, and unconstitutional decrees spew from Washington, D.C., like an open sewer. The Federal government has become a beast. It exists now to impose tyranny, plunder our citizens wealth, corrupt our culture, and dismantle our freedoms to control every aspect of our fleeting lives.

The Obama administration is the culmination of America’s long march from freedom to bondage. He is the personification of the fourfold evil destroying America— abortion, homosexuality, communism, and Islam. When God views America, Obama is our representative. This is what we have become in God’s sight as a nation. We should shudder, cry out, and repent at the mere thought of it.

With the recent Obergefell vs. Hodges opinion, the Supreme Court strengthened Obama’s craving to further his “hope and change” perverted, tyrannical agenda against us. “Sexual liberation” has always been utilized to undermine, faith, family, and freedom by those who seek tyrannical control over the masses. A faithless, godless, and sexually immoral people are merely “useful idiots” tyrants manipulate to bring about the chaos that strengthens their tyrannical grip on men and nations.

True to form, the fascist elements of the Obama sodomite agenda is in full manifestation. This wicked agenda does not seek equality, it demands supremacy. It is not about so-called “Gay Marriage,” but the criminalization of Christianity in America.

As sodomites get their hands on the sword of civil government, our nation is being forced to make a conscious decision. It appears the “powers that be” are seeking to establish this wicked agenda at the expense of Christian’s freedom of religion, speech, and other liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. Several recent cases against Christian bakers, photographers, sports figures, and celebrities, who stand for Christ and the God-ordained covenant of marriage highlight the marginalization and persecution taking place under our watch.

We must remember, the sword of civil government is not neutral. If our government is going to uphold and defend that which God considers an abomination, it must of necessity punish the righteous. Proverbs 17:15 reveals this double abomination at work in our day, “He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.”

The plight of our nation seems to have awaken some of the church to these sobering realities. Some, in fact, are seeking to answer the question, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do” (Psalms 11:3)? For many Christians and conservatives, they have opted for the “religious liberty” defense. May I suggest, that is a losing proposition that will further our demise, rather than protect our liberties.

Although religious liberty should be a concern to Christians in our nation, we cannot defeat this monstrosity based upon that legal rebuttal. Those who advocate solely from the religious liberty perspective merely address a fruit of the problem. It is insufficient to remove the roots of our woe. It treats a symptom, but it is impotent to cure the disease. It prunes a branch, but refuses to bring God’s axe to America’s idolatrous, tyrannical tree.

Pastor Matt Trewhella, author of The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate and the Magdeburg Confession exposes the folly of this strategy. He states, “Religious liberty is the latest retreat of the GOP and the conservatives. First they stood against sodomy itself, but then they retreated to the new position of opposing homosexual marriage. Now they have retreated from that position to ‘defending religious liberty.’ The GOP has no fealty to Christ. They only know political expediency– an expediency for their own political ends.”

This hearkens to the warning issued by R. L. Dabney in the last century. He warned:

This [Northern conservatism] is a party which never conserves anything… American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows Radicalism as it moves forward towards perdition. It remains behind it, but never retards it, and always advances near its leader. This pretended salt hath utterly lost its savor: wherewith shall it be salted? Its impotency is not hard, indeed, to explain. It is worthless because it is the conservatism of expediency only, and not of sturdy principle. It intends to risk nothing serious for the sake of the truth, and has no idea of being guilty of the folly of martyrdom. It always when about to enter a protest very blandly informs the wild beast whose path it essays to stop, that its “bark is worse than its bite,” and that it only means to save its manners by enacting its decent role of resistance.

In other words, conservatives merely maintain ground the progressives take. They point out what is wrong and then acquiesce to the liberal’s position. Why? They are not willing to sacrifice or as Dabney stated they have no desire to be “guilty of the folly of martyrdom” to see righteousness prevail. They are indeed “pretend salt” when they forfeit “sturdy principle” for “political expediency.” Pastor Trewhella documents well this travesty as it relates to the events that recently happened in Kentucky with Kim Davis, religious liberty, and the new governor elect, Matt Bevin. He wrote:

After the Obergefell opinion by the Supreme Court this past June, the Republican leadership in Kentucky, with the connivance of pro-family groups, decided that homosexual marriage and religious liberty provided a political opportunity to capture the governor’s seat from the Democrats.

They made the clerks, like Kim Davis and others, the poster-children for their campaign. “Protect their religious liberty!” was the rallying cry. But the GOP never intended to actually stop the evil of homosexual marriage in Kentucky, they only wanted to use it to seize the governor’s seat.

Now that they have it, their true motives are revealed in Bevin’s deceptive executive order. They will accommodate the evil of homosexual marriage. Those who are easily duped will think him some great hero and defender of freedom and marriage, but in reality, he will create the first state policy through executive order that acknowledges the legitimacy of homosexual marriage in Kentucky.

Laws or policies that protect Christians from being personally affected by evil laws, but which allow the evil to continue in the nation are themselves evil laws or policies. Such laws or policies further marginalize Christ and Christianity within the culture.

Bevin’s true duty is interposition. He has a duty to protect the people of Kentucky against a lawless federal judiciary that wants to give the force of law to depraved men. He has a duty to defy.

The issues that arose from County Clerk, Kim Davis, in Kentucky are not just religious in nature. At their core, they are Constitutional, rule of law, and oath of office issues. In God’s providence, a small team from Operation Save America had the opportunity to meet with Kim Davis during this highly publicized event in Kentucky. We encouraged her, prayed for her, and admonished her on these important issues. At one point, I shared, “Miss Kim, the same God who seeks to protect you from putting your hand to this evil is the same God that wants to protect the citizens under your jurisdiction from putting their hands to this evil. This is not just about your religious liberty or your conscience. It is about law, the Constitution, and your oath of office. Your duty is clear. You must interpose to stop the lawlessness, injustice, and the unconstitutional attacks from Washington DC to protect the life, liberty, and property of the citizens you swore before God to serve.”

I hope, by now, that you are beginning to grasp the idea that approaching this issue from solely a religious liberty perspective will not righteously resolve this deplorable situation. It will only serve to further privatize the Christian faith and marginalize Christians as second-class citizens in America. Our nation has pushed in this direction for years with the cooperation of most Christians in America. It is this pathetic condition, the lack of the Church of Jesus Christ being salt and light in our decaying culture that has helped to pave the way for the tyranny that we struggle against today.

What is desperately needed in defense of our lives, liberty, and property is a return to an understanding of the Lesser Magistrate Doctrine. Before I share on this important teaching, a foundation must be first established. The dirty little secret that is coming to light through this debacle is COURTS CANNOT MAKE LAW!!!

Under our Constitution that authority is reserved for the United States Congress. Article One, Section One of the Constitution says, “All legislative power herein granted is vested in a Congress…” How much legislative power is granted to the Congress? All means all, which means there is none left over for the judicial branch in America. Court opinions do not constitute law.

This was the battle cry in Kentucky, “Show us the law or set Kim Davis free!” Michael Peroutka, from American View, powerfully made this point at the rally outside the jail where Kim Davis was incarcerated. It changed the entire narrative that overthrew the failed “religious liberty” arguments. Kim Davis broke no law. In fact, she was the law keeper. It was the Supreme Court that was lawless. There is not one law on the books that came out of Congress that was signed by the President that grants permission for homosexual marriage to be recognized by the states. Yet, the states continue to bow before their Federal masters and comply with their wicked, unjust, immoral and unconstitutional decrees.

Besides this, any so-called “law” of men that violates the Holy Commandment of God is no law at all. Sir William Blackstone and Martin Luther King Jr. would both agree with this premise. In fact, for over 1500 years of Western civilization, men upheld this presupposition. Blackstone, who wrote Commentaries on the Laws of England, was one of the main sources our Founding Fathers looked to form our nation. He stated, “Upon these two foundations, the law of nature (the eternal laws of good and evil) and the law of revelation (found only in the Scriptures), depend all human laws. That is to say, no human laws should be allowed to contradict these.”

More recently, Martin Luther King Jr. affirmed this truth. He gave this apologetic on law:

There are two types of law: just and unjust. I would be the first advocate obeying just laws. One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. I would agree with St. Augustine that ‘an unjust law is no law at all.’ Now what is the difference between the two? How does one determine whether a law is just or unjust? A just law is a man made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law.

Throughout history, men had to deal with this controversy. There are reasons why in times past they declared:

“The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” -Plato

“The hottest fires in hell are reserved for those who remain neutral in times of moral crisis.” -Edmond Burke

“The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” -Edmond Burke

“Men must be governed by God, or they will be ruled by tyrants.”

“Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.” -Thomas Jefferson

These men are all dead who understood these truths. They ran their lap of the race and whether we like it or not, it is our turn now. How shall we then live? How shall we respond in the current crisis? I highly recommend two books to study to help answer these critical questions. These books contain the Biblical principles and historical lessons that have the potential to end this night of wrong and bring forth a new dawn of freedom in our nation. It can provide a future and hope for our children and grandchildren.

As stated prior, they are The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate and the Magdeburg Confession written by Pastor Matt Trewhella. The doctrine simply states:

When a superior civil authority, such as our federal government, makes unjust/immoral decrees, the lesser authority, such as a governor of a state or a sheriff on a county level, has the duty to refuse all unlawful orders. If pushed by the higher authority, the lesser magistrate has the duty to actively resist tyranny in order to protect the life, liberty, and property of those they swore an oath to serve.

To find out more on this important doctrine and what you can do to join the “Gentle Revolution” go to www.lessermagistrate.com or www.defytyrants.com. It is time to stop cursing the darkness and muster the courage to light a candle by rallying the Lesser Magistrates to stand against Federal tyranny in Jesus’ mighty and holy name! Amen!

The Tale of Two Governments

Charles Dickens, the English author of classical literature, wrote a famous novel called The Tale of Two Cities. It centered on London and Paris during the upheaval of the French Revolution. The opening lines state, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”

I guess that describes to a certain degree all generations in human history, but for the purposes of this article, I’d like to borrow from Mr. Dickens title and change it to The Tale of Two Governments. What is the best case scenario for civil government as opposed to the worse case scenario?

What constitutes a wise government as opposed to a foolish one? What does a government based upon the Bible look like as opposed to a government rooted in humanism, which the Bible refers to as the beast? What is more preferable for our future hope? Is it a government exercising its authority in the light of justice or a government that descends into the darkness of tyranny? Is it a government that inspires a spring of hope or plots a winter of despair?

As our nation moves from being a free nation towards Communism, I believe we are at the crossroads to answer these questions before they are answered for us. God, in His Word informs us that this tale of two governments does exist in our poor fallen world. Proverbs 29:2 teaches, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” As you check the pulse of America today, are Americans groaning or are they rejoicing?

Thankfully, it is also in the Scriptures that we find the delineation between what constitutes a righteous government as opposed to a tyrannical one.

We will be studying two Scripture references to discover the contrast. They are Romans 13:1-4 and Psalms 94:20, 21. Prayerfully, between these two references, the reader will gain understanding between a virtuous government and an immoral government as God’s Word defines the critical concepts of good and evil. Otherwise, as men and nations are prone to do, we descend to a place where good becomes evil and evil magically becomes good (Isaiah 5:20). The following are the Biblical marks that define them both.

Three Marks of a Tyrannical Government

Psalms 94:20, 21 states, “Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with You? They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.” Generally speaking, Psalms 94 cries out to God to shine forth His Justice upon those who “break in pieces Your people, O LORD, and afflict Your heritage. They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless” (Psalms 94:5, 6). A powerful question is mentioned as well, one I dare say the modern day church needs to answer, “Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity” (Psalms 94:16)? From there, the Psalmist zeros in on the three major marks of tyrannical government that God rejects and refuses to endorse.

First mark: tyrannical government “devises mischief by the law.” In other words, they codify evil into law. In the name of law, despotic governments violate the function of law. As the French philosopher, Frederic Bastiat, stated, “It (civil government) has acted in direct opposition to its proper end; it has destroyed its own object; it has been employed in annihilating the justice which it ought to have established.” Today, in America, under the color of law, our experiment with liberty is being dismantled, one freedom at a time.

Human law divorced from the foundation of God’s moral law, is no law at all. Sir William Blackstone, English Jurist, who penned Commentaries on the Laws of England clarifies this time-honored truth:

Man, considered as a creature, must necessarily be subject to the laws of his Creator, for he is entirely a dependent being… And, consequently, as man depends absolutely upon his Maker for everything, it is necessary that he should in all points conform to his Maker’s will… this will of his Maker is called the law of nature. These laws laid down by God are the eternal immutable laws of good and evil. This law of nature dictated by God Himself; is of course superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity if contrary to this… The doctrines thus delivered we call the revealed or divine law, and they are to be found in the Holy Scriptures… {and} are found upon comparison to be really part of the original law of nature. Upon these two foundations, the law of nature and the law of revelation depend all human laws; that is to say, no human laws should be suffered to contradict these.

America rejects this foundation for law today and has opted for legal positivism. Legal positivism implies law does not need to have an ethical basis. In other words, it is not necessary for law to have a moral foundation. Concepts of righteousness, morality, and time honored truths, are no longer necessary to support law. Frederic Bastiat exposed the folly of lawlessness masquerading as law. He stated, “When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law.” Just a cursory view of American jurisprudence and the culture it has spawned reveals both tragic realities manifesting under our watch.

As a result of America’s betrayal against God’s Law, our nation opted for a campaign calling for judicial reform. Led by Christopher Columbus Langdell, dean of the Harvard Law School, America rejected Blackstone in favor of Langdell’s “reforms.” He gave birth to the current case method, legal model. The case method uses the study of man’s experience, previous court cases, and prior judge’s rulings as the basis for “law.”

Roe vs. Wade is the epitome of Langdell’s judicial reforms and legal positivism. It moved the basis of law from an eternal, fixed standard to the whims of fallen men. The case method, legal model and legal positivism conspired to produce the “Constitution is a living, breathing document” mentality that breaks the chains on the federal beast that threatens our liberties today. This also paved the way for judicial activism. Judicial activism legislates “law,” like Roe v. Wade, rather than judge cases according to the Constitution. Void of divine absolutes, law has become a human fabrication.

We cringe today at the legal concept of paterfamilias. Under Roman “law,” the father had the authority to express a thumbs up and his child would be allowed to live. But, if he motioned a thumbs down, his child would be left to die. Yet, Roe vs. Wade granted this same so-called right to women. Think about the implications of this unlawful, yet legal insanity. The basis of law finds its source in the fickleness of flawed human beings. In this case, if woman wants the conceived child, the baby can live, if the woman rejects her child, the baby can be exterminated. The God of the Bible describes a government who allows such evil as those who “devise mischief by law.” He will not have anything to do with it, except judge it, like every other idol fit for destruction.

Second mark: They gather together against the life of the righteous. The sword of civil government is not neutral. It is a ministry of justice that is to be concerned with the physical welfare of men and nations. Part of its function is to punish evil doers as God defines evil and to protect those who are good in God’s sight. If our civil government reverses that function and protects evil, it must of necessity punish the righteous.

This is part of the reason why the Apostle Paul called for prayers for those who are in authority, “that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1, 2).

Proverbs 17:15 warns, “He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.” This double abomination dominates American jurisprudence today. Our government gathers against the life of the righteous by legalizing sins and abominations, such as, abortion and homosexuality. Local, State, and Federal officials routinely deny Christians their First Amendment Rights in order to uphold, celebrate, and defend what the Bible considers abominations. 1 Timothy 1:8-11 teaches:

But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

Tragically, our government is making a conscience decision that the pro-abort and sodomite agendas trumps Christians free speech, free exercise of religion, and a host of other rights articulated in the Constitution of the United States of America.

Our Lord takes this persecution against His people personally. Before Saul became Paul, he was breathing out great threats against the fledgling church (Acts 9:1). He hunted Christians down, imprisoned them, confiscated their property, and had many put to death. On his way to Damascus, however, to spread more terror amongst God’s people, he had a divine encounter.

Suddenly, a great light shown from heaven and knocked Saul off his high horse. It was at this point the Lord reveals something truly amazing. He declared, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads” (Acts 9:3-5).

Saul never laid a hand on the person of Jesus Christ and yet the Lord accused Saul of persecuting Him. In other words, when you touch God’s people, the apple of His eye, you touch Him. As a result of this divine encounter Saul became Paul. Afterwards, the hunter became the hunted and the persecutor became the persecuted.

It is never a good practice or sound policy to persecute God’s people and yet the world delights to do so as seen in Islamic and Communist regimes. Sadly, America is steadily moving forward in this dangerous direction. The day may come when Christians will be considered enemies of the state in the land of the free and the home of the brave. History reveals that our Lord has a major problem with governments who “gather together against the life of the righteous.”

Third mark: Tyrannical governments condemn innocent blood. The first mention of civil government in the Bible is found in Genesis 9:6, which states, “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God, He made man.” It is here that we discover the ultimate purpose for civil government, which is to protect life and stop the shedding of innocent blood. God instituted the state to make sure the earth would never again resort back to the horrific conditions of evil before the flood.

Our Founding Fathers agreed with the Biblical understanding of civil government. Thomas Jefferson declared, “The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government.” Therefore, any civil magistrate that upholds Roe vs. Wade and promotes abortion violates their sacred trust and is not morally qualified to govern.

The Biblical Marks of Good Government

Romans 13:1-4 reveals the marks of good government, a civil government that is operating as God designed it to function. Keep in mind, the Apostle Paul wrote this courageous admonishment during the cruel reign of Nero, a great persecutor of God’s people. God’s Word states:

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

The Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, reveals the first mark of good government, which is, Almighty God is the supreme authority and civil government is a delegated authority. This implies the concept of limited government. It also introduces the concept of higher law. Almighty God is the final arbitrator mankind can appeal to when suffering under the weight of oppression by despotic governments.

Our own Declaration of Independence acknowledges this truth. “To which the laws of nature and nature’s God” was the appeal and justification for our Founding Fathers to “dissolve the political bands” with England and become a separate and distinct nation amongst the nations of the earth. If there is no such being as the Triune God of the Bible or the concept of higher law, America remains a rogue nation in rebellion to England to this day.

Good government also acknowledges God as the ultimate sovereign. If not, man has only two failed options to embrace. The state is sovereign or the individual is sovereign. One leads to tyranny and the other to anarchy. This is part of the reason our nation opted for One Nation under God. Only “One Nation under God” can secure the delicate tension between a just social order on the one hand, while allowing maximum individual freedom on the other hand. Only “One Nation under God” can maintain the essential balance between authority and liberty.

The second mark of good government upholds God’s commandments in the civil sphere. The symbol of God’s authority in the church are keys (Matthew 16:19). The symbol of God’s authority in the state is a sword (Romans 13:1-4). The church is a ministry of grace, while civil government is a ministry of justice. The church is to be concerned with the spiritual welfare of men, while civil government is to be concerned with the physical welfare of men. Whereas God’s church is to teach the commandments of God, civil government is to enforce God’s commandments in the civil realm. The church is called to expose evil, while civil government is to punish and deter evil that constitute crimes.

Though there is a true separation of church and state, surprisingly it is not found in any of America’s historical documents. It is discovered in the Bible. There is no separation, however, between God and his delegated authorities that He established for His glory and our benefit.

Only the ultimate Lawgiver, Creator God, can define for us the concepts of good and evil. If civil government rejects this revelation, the danger becomes, as stated prior, good becomes evil and evil, good. This moral confusion will lead civil government astray from their sacred trust and inevitable lead to tyranny. Isaiah 10:1, 2 warns, “Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, which they have prescribed, To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey, And that they may rob the fatherless.” Bible commentators refer to this passage as the “woe of tyrants” text. Rulers descend to this deplorable condition when they refuse to acknowledged God’s law and their duty to uphold it in the civil realm. They abandon justice, so God abandons them.

Lastly, Romans 13 addresses good government as God ordained. We are duty bound to obey all lawful authority. This passage of Scripture on civil government, however, does not address our Christian duty when civil government becomes idolatrous, tyrannical, and becomes a lawbreaker itself. In those instances, when the laws of men conflict with the laws of God, we must obey God rather than man. This was clearly taught by the same Apostles who admonished the church to obey all lawful authorities. Acts 4:19, 20 states, “But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” Acts 5:29 is even more explicit, “But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

In the first Epistle of Peter, the Apostle taught in the times of oppression and tyranny, Christians are to trust God and continue to do good. He admonished this, even though our good may be considered a crime and civil government may consider Christians enemies of the state. This is true Biblical submission and subsequent redemptive suffering Christians endure living under a tyrannical state. It is also God’s rebuke to a government that moved from being a Minister of God to an agent of oppression.

Lower Magistrate Doctrine

I think we would all agree that we live in tumultuous times that threaten our life, liberty, and property. Most of us suspect that our future and hope stands in jeopardy. In light of these concerns, it would be prudent to address the critical nature of the Lower Magistrate Doctrine.

Before I do, however, it is important to reveal why we have come to the point that the Lower Magistrate Doctrine is necessary in these uncertain days. Our Founding Fathers knew there were two enemies to America’s experiment with liberty. First, was licentiousness amongst the people, which would inevitably lead to the second threat, tyranny in civil government. Freedom, to them, was not the ability to do whatever we wanted to do, but to the power to do as we ought. Freedom was the power to do what was right.

John Adams, our second president, stated, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” He went on to say, “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.” He warned, “The avarice of men would bust through the Constitution like a whale through a net.” To him and many others of their day, self-government was the key to liberty.
George Washington in his farewell address admonished, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of man and citizens…And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” If we were honest, Washington’s warnings has most certainly come to pass.

Samuel Adams, Father of the Revolutionary War and Signer of the Declaration of Independence, declared, “Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt.”

Jedediah Morse, Patriot and Father of American Geography stated, “To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoys. . . . Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government, and all blessings which flow from them, must fall with them.”

Benjamin Franklin stated, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.” Proverbs 28:2 concurs, “Because of the transgression of a land, many are its princes; but by a man of understanding and knowledge Right will be prolonged.”

Robert Winthrop, Congressman in the 1800s, concurs, “All societies of men must be governed in some way or other. The less they may have of stringent State Government, the more they must have of individual self-government. The less they rely on public law or physical force, the more they must rely on private moral restraint. Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled, either by a power within them, or by a power without them; either by the Word of God, or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible, or by the bayonet.”

There is a direct connection between our spiritual and moral state and the litany of woe upon us. As the French Historian De Tocqueville stated, “America is great because America is good, if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” The march leading our free nation to slouch towards Sodom, Socialism, and Communism has been long and arduous. Obama is the culmination of our transformation. He has created an environment where everything good, decent, and wholesome about America is mocked, despised, and rejected, while everything evil with America is celebrated with demonic glee. Obama is the personification of evil that is savaging our nation. He is tied directly tied to abortion and the shedding of innocent blood, the homosexual agenda, Islam, and Communism. All four present a danger to our national survival.

This lays the foundation for the Lower Magistrate Doctrine.

THE PRINCIPLE

In essence, the teaching of this doctrine declares that when a superior civil authority, such as our federal government, makes unjust/immoral decrees, the lesser authority, such as a governor of a state or a sheriff on a county level, has the right to refuse all unlawful orders. If pushed by the higher authority, the lesser magistrate has the duty to actively resist tyranny in order to protect the life, liberty, and property of those they swore an oath to serve.

THIS DOCTRINE IN HISTORY

Historically, this doctrine was practiced before the time of Christ. It was Christian men, however, that formalized it and embedded it in their political institutions throughout Western civilization.

Before I give examples in history, it is important to note that the Lower Magistrate Doctrine is rooted in the concept of interposition. Interposition is demonstrated when someone or some group positions themselves between an oppressor and their intended victim. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is the supreme example of interposition. He humbly and courageously stood between sin, Satan, and this illegitimate world system that is in rebellion against God’s loving rule and rescued us.

In the days of the Roman Empire, Caligula sent his diplomat Petronius to set up his image in the Temple of the Jews. This was a great offense of sacrilege and idolatry foisted upon the Jews. The Jews remonstrated and beseeched Governor Petronius to defy Caligula’s orders and spare them this grave offense, to the point they prostrated themselves on the ground and offered their necks. They would rather die than to see this happen to the Lord’s Temple.

Governor Petronius was so moved by their remonstrations, he bravely stood between the Emperor’s soldiers, the unjust decree, and the troubled Jews. He took a personal risk for the sake of justice. This is demanded by all Lower Magistrates, if or when the time presents itself.

In Scripture, there are many accounts of interposition. Pharaoh and the Hebrew midwives in Exodus 1 would certainly qualify. Pharaoh ordered all male babies murdered by throwing them in the Nile. The Hebrew midwives refused to comply with his wicked order and spared their lives. Would to God, Governors would fear God and follow the example of the mid-wives to intervene and spare the preborn from the wicked decree of Roe vs. Wade. They could do it if they mustered the courage to protect their most vulnerable citizens amongst them from decriminalized murder. Some of them are willing to say no to the federal beast when it comes to gun control, common core, and Obamacare. Why not say no to the federal beast when it seeks to devour innocent babies in the womb through the injustice of abortion?

In 1 Samuel 14, King Saul made a foolish decree during a fierce battle. He stated, “Cursed is the man who eats any food until evening, before I have taken vengeance upon my enemies.” One huge problem, his son Jonathan did not hear the command and ate honey. Saul was going to have his own son put to death. The people intervened on his behalf and declared, “Shall Jonathan die, who has accomplished this great deliverance in Israel? Certainly not! As the Lord lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day.” So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.” “We the people” rose up to interpose and defend Jonathan.

In the field of Runnymede in England, Christian nobles, who operated as Lower Magistrates, took King John’s tyranny to task in the year of our Lord 1215. This gave birth to the Magna Carta. This document came from a Christian culture. It played a huge role that led to the rule of constitutional law in Western civilizations. It helped to eventually correct the false notion of “the divine rights of king” doctrine. Rev. Samuel Rutherford from Scotland sealed it by his tremendous work called Lex Rex. The important principle he established was the king is not law, the law is king. We will not be ruled by the whims of men, but ruled by the law of God. The king is not above the law, he is subject to the law and he is ordained to enforce it when violated.

2 Corinthians 3:17 states, “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” This is not only true internally, but eventually externally as well. Every nation where Christianity has been established and flourished, unprecedented liberty has followed in its wake. Why is this? Because Christians, whose thinking is informed by the Bible, know the true nature of God and man. Man is sinful and power corrupts. Therefore, there must be checks and balances to avoid the natural tendency towards tyranny to secure our liberties.

For the last several decades, America has forgotten these Biblical and historical realities. In our great folly, we have given God our official eviction notice, “Get out of our schools, get out of our government, and get out of the public life of our nation.” Do you think it is a coincidence that we are resorting back to tyranny where we are once again ruled by the whims of men rather than by the rule of law?

The problem is America still desires the fruits of Christianity, its protection, prosperity, and blessings, we just don’t want the root, which is Christ our Lord. Only One Nation under God can balance the tension between authority and liberty. Only One Nation under God can secure social order on one hand and maximum individual freedom on the other hand. No other faith, worldview, and religion can accomplish this in our poor-fallen world. We have forgotten these truths to our own demise.

Next stop is the Magdeburg Confession. This is where the doctrine was formalized by Christian pastors. It started when Martin Luther pounded his 95 theses on the door at the Wittenberg church in the year 1517. He was condemned in the Edict of Worms. Facing possible death as a heretic, a Lower Magistrate, Prince Frederick of Saxony, rescued him and provided sanctuary. This act helped to lead to the development of the Lower Magistrate Doctrine as detailed in the Magdeburg Confession.

After Luther died, King Charles imposed the Augsburg Interim. He used military force to try and smash the Reformation. He was seeking to coerce German Christians to readopt Roman Catholic practices. While many capitulated, one city stood in defiance. That city was Magdeburg. It was here Lower Magistrates who were initially being used to attack the city had a change of heart. They eventually turned to protect the people from religious and civil tyranny. They defended the people and upheld God’s Law, Word, and Gospel. As tensions of the siege against their city mounted, the pastors wrote a document that would become known as the Magdeburg Confession. It was there that the pastors articulated the doctrine and took their stand in fealty to Christ.

To learn more about this history, doctrine and confession, may I suggest two books. Both are written or translated by Pastor Matt Trewhella. They are called The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate and the Magdeburg Confession. These works need to spread far and wide, if our nation has any hope of recovery.

Before the American Revolution, it was this doctrine that prepared the colonies to sever ties with England to become a free and independent nation. The Continental Congress gathered in prayer and assigned Thomas Jefferson to craft our Declaration of Independence. It was then and there they looked to the Laws of nature and nature’s God as justification to form our own nation. In this document, they laid out 27 grievances where the higher authority threatened their lives, liberty, and property. They acknowledged Almighty God four times throughout the Declaration. They acknowledge Him as Lawgiver, Creator, Supreme Judge, and His divine providence as they pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. In this case, these Lower Magistrates looked to the higher Law that England was violating to justify resisting the higher magistrate in freedom’s cause.

There have been many recent examples of the Lower Magistrate Doctrine being implemented in America today. Governors and Sheriffs are simply say no to federal tyranny, unjust laws, and wicked decrees. They are one of the last remaining defense mechanisms to protect our life, liberty, and property. If they fail to do their duty, it then falls to the last defensive element, “We the People.” Typically, when it gets to that point, it turns bloody. Thus, we either have a Gentle Revolution led by the Lower Magistrates or I cringe to think of what awaits our future.

This leads to my last admonishment, which is what we can do as citizens? First, I highly recommend you pass on this message to others. Second, we must remonstrate like those who have gone before us. This teaching must spread far and wide. Make sure your family, friends, churches, and Tea Party groups have the books I suggested. We must be schooled in these principles and pass them on to Lower Magistrates, such as Governors, State Legislators, Sheriff’s Departments, and local police officers. We need to encourage them to take a righteous stand against tyranny and assure them that we will stand with them in the defense of our lives, liberty, and property in Jesus’ name!

If you find any merit, please pass this teaching on in your sphere of influence. Thanks!

Judge Not?

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment (John 7:24).”

In our age of multiculturalism, social diversity, sensitivity training, moral relativism, and political correctness the mere mention of judgment has become “anathema” in America today. This infantile rebellion against sound discretion has created a “Trojan Horse,” that has infiltrated every facet of our culture. Under the guise of promoting democratic ideals this refusal to make sensible judgments has detracted greatly from our moral, mental, and spiritual health as a nation.

For decades now, our nation seems to be suffering from a collective case of reprobation. It appears we are currently fulfilling the sad commentary of woes prophesied by Isaiah the prophet. He declared, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight (Isaiah 5:20, 21)!”

In following this foolish course, our reason has become suspect and our sense of logic appears to be failing to endure the rigors of modern-day life. In fact, I would dare state that America is found wanting as we exalt man’s faulty reason as of greater value than God’s revelation contained in the Holy Bible. One does not need to be a rocket scientist or a great theologian to recognize that this betrayal against absolute truth has not only damaged our spiritual sense, but even our common sense has become a casualty. The once time-honored truths and Biblical principles that created our fixed standards for law, justice, and equity have been replaced with the evolutionary, situational ethics of relativism.

Foes within our own American household that led the charge in calling good, evil and evil, good have purposely abandoned God’s moral laws as the basis of American law. And with this dangerous transition, all discretion was thrown to the wind. Our country, as a result, is in a moral free fall that is spinning out of control and is becoming destitute of sound judgment at a time when the inmates are running America’s asylum.

THE TEN WORDS

God in His wisdom gave mankind the Ten Commandments. Jesus taught they were summed up in two, which are as follows, “Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, mind, and strength and thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.” Covenant rebels, on the other hand, have manufactured in their humanistic think tanks two new counterfeit commandments on which they hang all their wicked agenda. They are “Do what thou wilt and thou shalt not get in my face, DON’T JUDGE ME!!!” It is this usurpation that has helped to dramatically turn America’s experiment with liberty into licentiousness.

As America continues in this high treason against God’s moral standards, we are losing our fear of God and a revelation of His holiness. Thus man feels empowered to redefine sin. The results are predictable. Psalm 12:8 reveals, “The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.” Proverbs 28:4 concurs, “They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.” Thus, sin has gone from the breaking of God’s Law to not tolerating those who do.

Yes, intolerance of evil is the new unpardonable sin. Any standard-bearers of moral judgment that resist evil become the modern day “hate groups” that need to be defeated by the paragons of tolerance. Why? Because the promotion of sin in all its “diverse” forms is the new civil rights struggle that defines much of this crooked generation. They wrap up their perversions in the American flag to help sanitize their evil and it is now considered un-American to confuse them with the truth.

In Matthew 7:1 Jesus declared, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” Miraculously in our day, this passage of Scripture has replaced John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” as the most beloved Scripture quoted by Americans today. Our nation adopted this change not to honor God’s Word, but to justify our many transgressions. The reason for this observation stems from the chants that we constantly hear from abortion advocates and those who promote the homosexual agenda.

It is this one Scripture that they have memorized and draw like a gun to shoot down any opposition to their bloody, perverted ways. I have consistently found that leftists “love” Jesus, just as long as He doesn’t interfere with their godless lifestyles. But when one quotes Jesus accurately and applies His truth to expose their evil, immediately the accusations and name calling begins. Phrases like anti-choice, homophobe, and born-again bigot do wonders to silence the church and win the day in the court of public opinion.

Paul Washer stated, “People tell me judge not lest ye be judged. I always tell them, twist not scripture lest ye be like Satan.” The truth is when we hear the forces of darkness take up the Scriptures in their mouth, especially “Judge not, that you be not judged,” most often, it is to twist its meaning to defend that which is contrary to Biblical teaching. After all, who wants to appear judgmental when it might desecrate the idol of tolerance? The answer, of course, is no one. This strategy has been successful as the church for the most part refuses to speak out against the sins that are destroying our nation.

At this point, it is important to note a few critical truths ignored by the “tolerant thought police” as it relates to Matthew 7:1-6. Like their father the Devil, enemies of the cross love to take the text of Scripture out of context and then present it as pretext. In other words, they read into the Scriptures their own agenda, (isogesis) instead of drawing from the Scriptures God’s truth (exegesis). Their beliefs determine the meaning of God’s Word, instead of God’s Word determining their belief.

In light of this dilemma, let us take a more careful look at the most popular Scripture misquoted in our culture today. Jesus stated:

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

First things first, notice that after Jesus spoke of judgment, he put his admonishment in the context of one brother noticing a moral deficiency within another brother. How should this incident of judgment be handled? Jesus taught that the one who noticed the problem must first submit himself to the same standard by which he would judge his brother. After careful self-examination and removal of the plank from his own eye, however, he was then commanded by Jesus to remove (or judge) the speck in his brother’s eye. The key point, however, is a judgment was still made. This time, however, it was not based upon the opinions of man, but by the universal standard of judgment, which is God’s Word.

This confirms one of the basic functions of the varied purposes of God’s Word. Hebrews 4:12 states, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The word discerner means decisive (critical), i.e. discriminative. Put another way, God’s word is to judge the intents and thoughts of men’s hearts. God knows what a man sets his heart upon, he will always seek to justify in his mind. God’s Word was sent to correct that process as men left to their own devices will always be led astray by sinful bondages and subsequent destruction.

In another passage of Scripture, Jesus reiterates God’s Word as the standard for righteous judgment. He stated, “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” Notice again that Jesus points to the Word of God as the authority to judge the thoughts, actions, and deeds of men. It is much wiser therefore to be judged now by God’s Word that leads to repentance, acknowledgment of the truth, and the saving of our souls, than to wait to be judged by God when we die.

The kind of judgment Jesus condemns, however, is hypocritical judgment. We must know for a certainty that the same judgment we render to others we shall also be judged. For example, Paul rebuked the Jews in Romans by stating, “You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal (Romans 2:21-23)?” He proceeded to ask the same questions concerning adultery and idolatry. What can we glean from this? The judgment that Jesus condemns is one that is based upon appearances. When we judge others for doing the very things that we are practicing in order to ignore or hide our own sin, do we think we shall escape? This is why Jesus warns us not to judge according to appearances, but to make righteous judgments that are to be based upon God’s Word (John 7:24).

Jesus reserved His most biting criticism and righteous anger against those who sought to appear righteous on the outside, but were unclean on the inside. Jesus roared against this blatant hypocrisy. Matthew 23:27, 28 records:

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

THE MINISTRY OF CONDEMNATION

Whether we like it or not, the Bible teaches that there is a ministry of condemnation. The modern-day Church cringes at the mere thought of it. Yet the Apostle Paul unashamedly stated:

But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory (2 Corinthians 3:7-9) .”

It is God’s law that serves the ministry of condemnation that convicts men of sin and it is the glorious Gospel that serves the ministry of the Spirit that leads men to God’s righteousness. Without doctor law diagnosing what ails men and giving us the bad news about our wicked condition, men will never seek God’s solution found in His grace. It is God’s law that is to act like a schoolmaster to lead men to the saving grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:24).

As way of example, when Christians go to abortion mills and cry out God’s commandment, “Thou shalt not murder,” they are not passing judgment based upon their own subjective reasoning. They are simply proclaiming God’s objective truth and warning against the sin and crime of abortion. It is not the Christian’s responsibility to make abortion bound people obey that command, but it is our responsibility to lift up God’s moral standards whether or not it appears “judgmental.”

All good evangelists know that their first calling is not to find sinners, but to make sure they know that they are lost. They must wield God’s Word to effectively remove every prop, excuse, and justification that enables men to continue in their disobedience against God. It is only the ministry of condemnation that reveals our lost condition. If the sinner, however, persists on killing his/her own offspring and does not take heed to God’s warning, they will remain in a condemned state. If they take heed and repent, the condemnation will be lifted and God’s amazing grace and love will secure them in his great salvation.

This offends America’s immoral sensibilities today, but there is a just condemnation for those who forsake God’s salvation and ignore His word. John 3:17-20 states:

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

The Apostle Paul taught, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” The key word in this passage is the word “now.” In other words, the condemnation that Jesus spoke of was there prior to conversion. In fact, God’s condemnation of sin is what convicts the sinner to repent and receive the saving grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. John the Baptist speaking of this predicament warned, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36).”

Because of our unwillingness to judge today, based upon the demands of God’s enemies, the church is pressured to withhold God’s Word because it does indeed judge the thoughts and intents of the heart. This is not a disservice to the souls of men, but a necessary one if they are to truly repent and be saved. This is why King David said, “Let the righteous strike me; it shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; it shall be as excellent oil. Let my head not refuse it (Psalms 141:5).” Proverbs 27:6 confirms this truth by stating, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”

The second observation that I found quite interesting in Matthew 7:1-6, is Jesus’ outrageous judgment that He makes in verse six, “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” Is it just me or do you not find it strange that Jesus would seemingly prohibit judgment on the one hand and then in the same breath call people dogs and swine? Is our Lord a hypocrite that contradicts the Word of God? Is he telling us to do one thing and then proceed to do the complete opposite? Is he leading by example or is he like most parents today who demand of their children “do as I say and not as I do?” Inevitably, however, children will end up doing what their parents did, regardless of what they said. The only difference is, what the parents do in moderation, the children usually take to the extremes.

Quite possibly, Jesus’ meaning of judgment differs greatly from our concepts of judgment. I mean our loving, compassionate Savior declared seemingly outlandish judgments against people. He called a Gentile women seeking healing for her daughter a “dog.” Could you imagine a preacher saying that today? He called the Pharisees, the religious leaders of His day, whited sepulchres and snakes. He even called a political figure, Herod, a fox.

What if Jesus was here today and made these same kinds of judgments against people? What do you think would happen to Him? We would probably hear of the church rebuking Him saying, “Jesus, you need to stop this at once and become more Christ like!” After that, corporate America would enroll Him into a sensitivity training program. If that failed, our government would step in to subject Him to tolerance training. If that failed to remove His “judgmental spirit,” I guess we would be forced to do exactly what those who went before us did and CRUCIFY HIM!!!

Despite the assault against judgment in our day, it is a part of our responsibility as thinking individuals to make righteous judgments. The ones who seek to forbid it are not being intellectually honest. They make judgments every day and most of them are not informed by the Scriptures. In fact, they are in violation of their own consciences, and yet, they cry for tolerance. Little do they realize, however, it is they themselves that have become the most intolerant of all. When their ideas, premises, and propositions are scrutinized, they deflect the light of truth by shouts of “judge not, lest ye be judged.”

Besides this wretched condition, without the ability to exercise sound judgment, how would the church discern against false teaching, false prophets, and false brethren?

Jesus warned, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:15, 16a).” If Jesus’ intent was to forbid judgment of any kind, how could we discern between what is true and what is false? The notion is preposterous and yet many in the church have bought into this line of reasoning hook, line, and sinker.

Finally, one just has to look to the field of medicine to summarize this teaching. What would happen to the human body if the healthy cells didn’t detect, judge, and discriminate against the cancerous cells that were intent on killing the body? What would happen to that body? This is an apt picture of a nation that is dying because it doesn’t want to appear judgmental against that which is destroying it.

Our national body has become afflicted with spiritual and moral cancers, and has infected the church of Jesus Christ in America with spiritual AIDS. God’s people are supposed to be the salt to the earth and the light to the world. We are to provide the moral immune system that resists abominations and overcomes evil to avoid God’s wrath that destroys nations. Yes, intolerance, righteous judgment, and holy discrimination are beautiful when tempered by the love of God. It can help revive a nation that is dying in Jesus’ name!

  • After two and half days of meetings hammering out the “Rally the Lesser Magistrate” national campaign, I come way energized by what was accomplished by great men of God during this appointed time. The outline of the vision is being filled in and the skeleton of the mission is adding flesh and sinew to this body of believers who are committing to make this vision a reality. There will be more details forth coming in the days and weeks ahead.

Another Chapter in the Book of Coincidences

Right after Operation Save America completed our “Let Justice Roll” event in Orlando, FL, news just broke that the main notorious abortionist in that area, James Pendergraft, was arrested again. This time in South Carolina operating a “mobile abortion clinic.” He was caught with bloody instruments and remains of baby tissue in his car, along with illegal drugs. He was performing abortions without a license. His license had been taken away several times. Currently, it has been taken away indefinitely.

Though we mainly concentrated on Planned Parenthood with godly action and prayer in Orlando, we did beseech the Lord to bring down Pendergraft’s bloody empire. He already has a vast history of arrests, prison sentences, legal problems, and owes a 36,000.000.00 lawsuit. This latest arrest adds to his burgeoning woes for kicking against the goads and refusal to repent for his bloody, deceitful ways.

Proverbs warns, “He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” (Proverbs 29:1). Pendergraft is well on his way to seeing this truth come to pass in his life. May he repent before it is too late for his wicked soul.

Rally the Lesser Magistrate Campaign

The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

On Thursday, October 15, some men of God will be participating in a meeting in Milwaukee, WI that I personally believe will be the most important meeting to date in our service to God. Our purpose will be to hammer out a national campaign to Rally the Lesser Magistrate.

There are two goals we are seeking to achieve. First, we are looking for the first state to defy the federal tyranny flowing from the corrupt springs of Washington DC. It appears there are a few southern states moving in that direction. One of them is my home state of Texas. We have been working behind the scenes to help our state to adopt the Lesser Magistrate doctrine with some success. The state that has come to the forefront, however, is Tennessee.

Pastor Matt Trewhella, author of The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates and his companion work, The Magdeburg Confession weighed in on the hopeful development in Tennessee. By the way, everyone of you should have these books to study, familiarize yourself with its contents and then pass it out to the magistrates in your sphere of influence. He stated:

In a brave move, a bill has been introduced in Tennessee which defies the Supreme Court opinion on homosexual marriage. The bill declares that marriage between one man and one woman “remains the law in Tennessee, regardless of any court decision to the contrary. Any court decision purporting to strike down natural marriage, including Obergefell v. Hodges, is unauthoritative, void and of no effect.”

Though a resolution would have been sufficient, the bill is worded well and should be supported by all lawmakers in Tennessee. Pressure will have to be placed on Governor Haslam and Attorney General Slatery (both Republicans) who have decided to hide behind the fiction that “the Supreme Court has ruled – all I can do is obey.”

This bill provides every American the opportunity to take the bill to their legislators in their state and propose the same – either ask why isn’t this being done here or declare this must be done here.

The second goal is to hammer a long term strategy to rally the Lesser Magistrates in all fifty states. Obviously, this is an ambitious goal that is well beyond our meager resources to accomplish. In typical fashion, it will take the intervention of God to pull this off in a timely manner.

From October 15-17, we will concentrate on fleshing out this facet of the vision. We have put together a rough outline that concentrates of three aspects of the mission. The vision statement, an infrastructure of leadership in each state, and the dates in 2016 to implement the Rally the Lesser Magistrate campaign.

Once this is accomplished, the men participating will begin to work the vision. For Operation Save America, this plan will be presented at our Leadership Meeting in Little Rock, AR. The dates are February 4-7. If you are a leader in OSA, your participation is vital. With all dispatch make sure you to plan on coming to this vital leadership meeting. It will help set the agenda for the entire year of 2016.

Brethren, your prayers, love, and support means more now than ever before. This newest project requires thousands of books, resource packets, website, qualified leaders, and committed teams in each county in America (3142) to complete the task set before us. Yes, it is impossible for men, but certainly possible for God.

Keep pressing on to the high call and prize in Jesus’ name!

OSA “Let Justice Roll” Orlando Regional Event Report
October 1 – 4

How wonderful it was to have so many saints pour into Orlando for the “Let justice roll down” regional event; armed with the sword of the spirit, wonderful families and hearts ready to do battle with the enemy which seeks to devour the most vulnerable in our nation, and to lift up high the banner of Jesus in the City Beautiful!

Thursday, October 1

The first rally began with Ante and the Campana girls blessing us with anointed worship which brought us into HIS presence. Ante followed with an incredible teaching on the importance of worshiping God at the abortion centers and other ministry opportunities on the streets and in our own personal lives. It was very powerful and a well needed reminder that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

Pastor Enrique spoke with his son alongside interpreting for him as he spoke about how he doesn’t have a formal education, but that it’s okay because we are to obey God’s calling, and that’s what really matters! He also said most churches do not want him speaking for fear that the topic of abortion will scare people away, but that he keeps him pressing forward for the doors God opens!

Rusty closed the evening with splitting the group of saints into three teams: The Campus Outreach/Truth Tour led by Jason Storms, the Awareness Campaign team led by Frank Campana and Dick Maxwell, and finally the Word in Warfare team led by Rusty himself. Each person was given their assignments and whereabouts for the next day and we closed in prayer, ending an incredible evening!

Friday, October 2

The Campus Outreach/Truth Tour Team:

This Campus Outreach Team started earlier than the other teams meeting up on Thursday afternoon, and heading out to the campus of the University of Central Florida. These OSA warriors led by Jason Storms, armed with signs and tracts, shared the Gospel with students passing by. Jason delivered powerful messages, exposing the sins of the culture and calling the students to repentance.

This same group rose early on Friday to meet the students walking to Jones High School. Planned Parenthood is visible from the school campus. They handed out many tracts containing the Gospel and exposing the murderous agenda of Planned Parenthood.

Later that afternoon, the team headed back to the University campus. They split up and blanketed the campus with hundreds of tracts. These Gospel tracts contain graphic images, displaying the suffering of the aborted babies. Later, they gathered again at the free-speech area, where Jason preached mightily. Several students representing Planned Parenthood arrived to protest and hand out free condoms. This actually worked for God’s glory, as it served to draw many students. For the rest of the afternoon, a crowd of students surrounded Jason as he reasoned with them for the case of Christ. There were numerous other conversations between students and team members, as each shared Jesus with them!

The Awareness Campaign Team:

Starting off bright and early, this team started their day off standing in front of the gated community of abortionist Emil Felski who is one of the main abortionists for the Planned Parenthoods in Central Florida and also commits abortions in his ob/gyn office. He has been killing little baby boys and girls for many, many years. The team alerted the community of this abortionist living in their neighborhood, and to be concerned at having someone so close that kills innocent babies. There were many opportunities to speak with people leaving for work or driving in, with many flyers being handed out.

The next stop was to abortionist Felski’s ob/gyn office in Casselberry where the team lined the streets with graphic signs and alerting drivers that this doctor is an abortionist; the visual was powerful! One awesome opportunity of ministry was when a young man, almost in a comatose/zombie type state stopped to speak with Michele Herzog and Dick Maxwell. They spoke of the gospel with this young man who later confessed that his life revolves around playing video games, particularly Dungeons and Dragons. Frank Campana and Dick Maxwell later prayed over this very lost soul; it was a very powerful moment and we continue to lift this young man up to the Lord.

After an incredible lunch led by the wonderful lunch crew, Rose, Heather & children and Sue, the team headed downtown to the City Hall to alert the city that there are six abortuaries in their midst and encouraged Mayor Buddy Dyer to do the right thing and stand for life, and not for death. He has continued to be a very pro-abortion minded leader in this city. Under his watch thousands of children have been brutally murdered; truly the blood of the innocent cry out in this bloody city.

After the campaign downtown, the team moved over to the neighborhood of abortionist Merri Morris to alert the neighbors that Morris kills innocent babies for a living and to call her to repentance. Her daughter happened to be there, coming out to take pictures of everyone, and later Morris’s husband came home to find everyone there with signs and literature; he was not too happy and as expected, he called the police. There is a very unconstitutional ordinance in the city of Orlando, so six police vehicles came. Thankfully, the team was able to stay for a good amount of time. We got everything recorded that we need to combat this wicked ordinance!

The Word in Warfare Team:

The Word in Warfare Team split up into three groups to cover the three Planned Parenthoods. Ante led the PP Orlando, Sean Brinz led the PP Kissimmee, and David Jordan led the PP eastside. Each team was given certain portions of the daily Bible Reading Schedule and began doing battle through the reading of God’s precious word! They all had a huge task ahead of them to accomplish the complete proclamation of the entire Bible, but each person took this with a commitment and a passion and began in earnest!

Although there were threats of counter protests from a homosexual group, only a few made it to the PP Orlando, and while there, they were able to hear anointed worship through Ante’s sound system which continued to play throughout the day. Many opportunities of ministry occurred there, and at the other two mills.

The evening rally was another special time with the worship team from Victorious Living Fellowship bringing everyone into HIS gates with thanksgiving in our hearts and HIS courts with praise! Jason Storms was our first speaker and his topic on biblical manhood was incredible and so needed in this day and age. Jason had all the men stand up after and he prayed over them; it was a very somber moment with many broken hearts and men wanting to be the men God wants them to be.

Pastor Victor Morgan followed Jason and gave a warning on the state of this nation and the progression of transgression leading us to where we are. His message concluded though, with the opportunities we have as Christians during this time; it was a very passionate and serious talk, one that many of us will remember for a long time to come. It was an extremely powerful evening!

Saturday, October 3,

Word in Warfare:

The Word in Warfare team once again took to their spots at the walls that they were assigned to, and began prophesying the word of God once again. The Lord honored the efforts of the saints and by the end of the day, everyone was where they needed to be to be able to finish up on Sunday reading the book of Revelation in front of the PP on Tampa Avenue. This was a huge feat, but the saints that were on the Word in Warfare team took this seriously and trudged on through, reading and proclaiming the only truth in this sin sick world! Each person that took part shared how God had touched them in a way that was so powerful.

Once again the threats of a counter protest by the homosexual group were given, but only a few showed up again. They were once again given the opportunity to hear the word of God as the saints prayed and worshiped. Many spoke with these lost souls and we pray that the words spoken to them will transform their lives.

One man riding by on his bike fell under conviction as Rusty Thomas was preaching. A lady walked up to the man and asked him if he “knew” Jesus. He stated, “I love Jesus, but do not know him.” She proceeded to share the Gospel as the man surrendered his life to the Lordship of Christ. The angels in heaven rejoice when just one person comes to repentance and the acknowledgement of the truth.

The Awareness Campaign Team

(The Campus Outreach teamed up with the A.C. team on Saturday!)

The A.C. team took to the streets in front of the Florida Hospital in Winter Park due to the fact that abortionist Emil Felski is on staff, and abortionist Morris and Felski have been given hospital/admitting privileges at this so-called Christian hospital. Graphic signs lined the front held by the many saints that came to expose this evil. A lot of flyers and tracts were given out to those driving into the hospital and pedestrians.

For nine months, local leadership had tried to meet with the CEO of the Florida Hospital, concerning abortionists on staff, but to no avail. Well, God parted the Red Sea by having one of the Board of Directors of the hospital just happening to ride by on his bike with his two children following him. He was aghast at the thought of abortionists being tied to the hospital and promised to look into this situation and to do something about it. What a miracle after those long nine months!!!!!

After leaving the hospital, the team went to a very busy intersection a couple blocks away and lined the streets with large graphic signs and several saints passed out flyers and tracts to the cars as they waited for the light to change; it was an incredible time of ministry!

The team then headed to the St. John Park where the great Miss Rose had lunch waiting for them down at the lake, and after eating and taking a nice rest, the team headed up to Ormond Beach to stand in front of abortionist Ralph Bundy’s residence alerting the neighborhood their neighbor has bloodshed on his hands from killing innocent little baby boys and girls. Of course, the majority of neighbors were not happy, but there were some that thanked them for being there!

After that, the team headed to Port Orange to expose to the neighbors that the infamous abortionist, Randall Whitney is their neighbor and who has killed thousands of innocent children. Whitney is now in his 80’s and Frank & Dick preached and plead with Whitney to stop shedding innocent blood, that he is getting older and the seriousness of all this bloodshed. They called him to repentance and to not wait.

It was an incredible time of ministry throughout the whole day for the A.C. team.

Final Evening Rally:

The final evening rally began with Ante and the Campana girls leading worship again. It was followed by incredible testimonies of the day and longtime warrior for life, Pastor Bryon Longworth speaking on Personhood Florida. Counselor/Evangelist John Barros was next. He shared how God is moving miraculously down at the Orlando Women’s Center abortuary.

Rusty spoke after. He called all the young people to the altar. He encouraged them to follow hard after God, and reiterated what Pastor Morgan spoke about the night prior. He then had parents and everyone in the church come forward, lay hands on them and prayed for posterity. This was a very powerful time of impartation to these young people, who had an awesome time as well. Rusty then gave a fiery, and dynamic sermon, that highlighted our theme, “Let Justice Roll.” As always, he encouraged everyone to continue following hard after Jesus till He lead justice to victory.

It was a powerful evening and so fitting for the final rally; the mission for the remaining day was given and off the saints went!

Sunday, October 4

Everyone met at the Planned Parenthood on Tampa Avenue to complete the Word in Warfare mission. The book of Revelation was proclaimed with 22 saints each taking a chapter in a single line. The Holy Spirit was so present while HIS precious word was read, and at that last chapter the power of God was so strong.

The saints then left to head down to the First Congregational Church in Winter Park which promotes homosexuality and abortion. This was an incredible time of preaching the gospel, worshiping on the streets, exposing the evil , ministering, and praying for the lost. There were many conversations with churchgoers and with leadership of the church. The wickedness and deception of this apostate church was so evident. It was very sad to see so many being led astray by false teaching in this “Ichabod” church. This was an extremely powerful morning to lift high the name of Jesus. We pleaded with the people to repent, return to holiness, and obey the one and true living God.

The event ended with those that could meet and have lunch together. It was a sweet time of fellowship after a weekend of battle. Thanks to everyone that came out for this awesome weekend of serving Jesus at the gates of hell. They will not prevail against the church of the living God!

Other Testimonies

Operation Save America was in Orlando this past weekend. And what an exciting weekend it was! These are a few of the missions we accomplished, by the grace of God:

  1. We preached repentance and faith in Christ at the UCF campus 2 afternoons.
  2. We brought awareness of the attack against our children through abortion in various places: in front of City Hall, in several neighborhoods, in front of abortion clinics, on the UCF campus, and at Jones high school.
  3. We tested the constitutionality of a local city ordinance.
  4. We read the entire Bible aloud in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion mills, and pleaded for the babies scheduled to be slaughtered there.
  5. We brought awareness and called on Florida Hospital to break dealings with 2 abortionists who work there (Dr. Emil Felski and Dr. Merri Morris). God allowed us to encounter one of the members on the board of directors who is working on seeing this is accomplished.
  6. We preached repentance and faith in Jesus to the members of an ungodly church which holds to a form of godliness, but denies the power thereof. This church is the First Congregational Church of Winter Park. They condone the slaughter of innocent children through abortion and they bless homosexual marriage, all the while, calling themselves Christian.

My dear OSA friends, thank you for coming from many places to bless Orlando with the preaching of the Gospel. You are living the life and I’m so grateful for you. All glory to God for His goodness and power. Jesus is worthy!

I have to say, Oct. 1-4th, with our OSA ‘Let justice roll ‘ regional event, was so powerful, wonderful, incredible, awesome and such a time to truly lift the name of Jesus high! And. …… ministering and fellowshipping with some of the greatest warriors ever!!!!!!! This was yesterday after an intense and incredible Awareness Campaign……a goodbye lunch! And this wasn’t everybody by the way!!!!!!

As the OSA saints are storming the gates of hell here in Orlando (more to come on that later). I received this report from Bishop Otis Kenner. The Lord is powerfully using our brother to reach the Black Church in America. The doors are opening to him. He is thundering the message and our black brothers and sisters are being recruited into the battle for the souls of men, the lives of children, and the future of our bloodstained, perverted nation.

Bishop’s Report

On Wednesday, September 23, 2015, Kingdom Growth Fellowship of United Churches hosted a Pastors and Ministers meeting at Fresh Faith Worship Center where I, Bishop Otis Kenner, II serve as pastor. This meeting was to alert pastors and ministers to the atrocity of abortion/child sacrificing and the unconstitutional law of homosexual marriages. In attendance were pastors from the southeastern region of Louisiana.

I taught from Hosea 4:1-3 and later discussed the rules & bylaws the churches need to incorporate into their charters to protect the ministries from government attack when taking a stand against same sex marriages and ministry operations. Each person in attendance also received a packet of information about OSA which included a DVD of Maafa 21. I also gave each pastor in attendance a book called, “The Autopsy of a Deceased Church” by Thom S. Rainer.

Pastor Bill Shanks was our key speaker and totally electrified the audience with the history and testimonies.

On Monday September 28, 2015 at the River Regions Theological Bible College (Fall Session) where I am an instructor and Vice President, I was charged with preach at the weekly Monday night chapel service. I preached a message titled, “Déjà vu” which in it’s French epistemology, literally “already seen”, is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced, has already been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not.

I paralleled it to Hosea 4:1-3 and Ecclesiastes 1:9 and 3:15. The message showed how man by nature has a repetitive behavior that is destructive and sinful under heaven. I further demonstrated this life in nothing but a cycle of Biblical history and our nation has traded places with forgetful, stiff-necked Israel by repeatedly breaking covenants with God and killing innocent lives. Again I shared the OSA packet along with the Maafa 21 DVDs and connected the dots between the civil rights movement and the injustice of our day of child sacrifice. I then explained that the African American Abortion epidemic is the modern day Nazi Germany and Jewish Holocaust.

Many pastors, ministers and bible college students stormed the pulpit to obtain the OSA packets and Maafa 21 DVDs.

The president of River Regions Theological Bible College after hearing the message was so inspired that he asked me to be the key note speaker at the annual fellowship banquet with Kenner Theological Bible College in December. He stated that never had he asked anyone to preach a specific message but he wanted me to share the exact same message at the banquet. There should be 100 or more persons in attendance including pastors, ministers, bible college students and their families.

Just received this incredible report from Marilyn Carroll from OSA Connecticut. After 25 years of faithfully fighting the battle, God has heard their many prayers and rewarded their godly actions in Bridgeport, CT (My hometown). The Summit death camp is finally shutting down!

I invite you to rejoice with the Carrolls and Vasquezes and all the other saints that stood so faithful for so long at this death camp. HALLELUJAH! Our God reigns!!!

We are planning a memorial/praise service to shout from the rooftops this glorious victory in Jesus’ name! Please let this good report encourage you in the battle. It may be long, we may even grow weary at times, but God is faithful to watch over his word to perform it in His time.

Summit  Abortuary CLOSES in Bridgeport CT

September 26, 2015 last killing day
To God be the Glory!

This is the most wonderful, glorious thing that God could have done. Its so incredible that this abortion center has CLOSED. So much has happened in the past 25 years it would be impossible to capture it all. Here are a few highlights of what has transpired.
Faithful laborer, Stan Scott, was at the Summit since they opened in 1975. Stan had put an announcement in the Christian Heritage School newsletter in January 1990 to ask people to come to a prayer vigil. That’s how we found out about the Summit.  He went home to be with the Lord this past May 2015. He must be rejoicing with Jesus about this good news!!

We had a memorial service in 2002 at the old location on 211 Middle Street with OSA National Director, Flip Benham,  to remember all the thousands of precious babies that were killed there.

Five abortionists, Jonas, C. Souvlis, M. Blumenfeld, S. Richman, J. Foster, are responsible for killing probably close to 150,000 babies in the past forty (40) years. Many women were seriously injured by these so-called doctors. Susan Richman has had a malpractice suit against her. Mark Blumenfeld was in the newspaper for slapping a patient on the table and taking prescription drugs illegally.

This past August, 2015, Abortionist Jonathan Foster made the front page of the  CT Post newspaper! He was fined $5,000 by the state medical board for taking out a woman’s uterus at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury,  while the woman was still pregnant with her baby!! So barbaric!!  He completed a course to maintain his certification in his “specialty”.  We reminded him to stop maiming women and stop killing innocent little baby boys &  girls, to repent and turn to the living God (Jesus)!! We did expose Foster to all the girls going into Summit Center and gave them a copy of the article of the newspaper! It’s so sad that most of these young moms going into these abortion mills have no idea who the abortionist is or their names!! (God please bring out more Christian laborers to help share the light with these young moms and dads going into these abortion mills)!
The people who worked next door on Middle St in the 90’s told us Summit took a young woman out on a stretcher with a white sheet over her into an ambulance. We were able to get lawyers for a another mom that was maimed with a perforated uterus and bladder. Her baby was bigger than the abortionist thought (21 weeks) and he ripped apart half of the baby and couldn’t get the second half out. The mom was hemorraghing all the way to the hospital. Summit had to pay her $350,000 in damages and she could never have a baby again. Abortionist Jonas retired soon after that incident.

Three times in Jeremiah God talks about parents who sacrifice their children:

“…. they sacrifice their little sons and daughters in the fire. A thing I have never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing!” Jeremiah 7:31, “And they have filled this place with the blood of innocent children. They have built pagan shrines to Baal, and there they burn their sons as sacrifices to Baal, I have never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing!” Jeremiah 19:4-5 “…and there they sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molech. I have never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing. What an incredible evil, causing Judah to sin so greatly!” Jeremiah 32:35

Just think how this applies to us in America!
In 1995 the United States (AG Janet Reno) and the State of Connecticut (AG Richard Blumenthal) sued us with F.A.C.E. (Freedom to Access Clinic Entrances). During this two year lawsuit the government attempted to suppress peaceful, constitutionally protected speech and leafleting outside Summit Women’s Center. With the help of the American Family Association Law Center from Mississippi, the Lord vindicated us in 1997 with the help of five amazing lawyers (BJ Brown, Brian Fahling, Bruce Green, Steve Crampton, Michael DePrimo) that stood by us through a very difficult time. We are eternally grateful for these warriors for Christ. We won the lawsuit in 1997 after the government spent $1.5 million to sue us. It cost AFA $500,000. to defend us.

To God be the Glory we won the lawsuit in 1997.
Then in 2001 the City of Bridgeport and the Bridgeport Police created a bubble zone to try to prevent us from persuading moms going into the abortion center not to kill their babies and giving them literature for alternative help available to them. Again AFA lawyers came by our side and defended our 1st Amendment rights with a federal lawsuit and won the case in January 2002. The money we received from the city was used for attorney fees and prolife ministry.
In another lawsuit we sued the City of Bridgeport for trying to take our sound amplification system away. This would make it hard for the moms going into the death camp to hear us offering them hope and help. Attorney Michael DePrimo brought the lawsuit to court in 2013 and we won it in 2014. Praise be to God!
Isaiah 59:14-15 “So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance, truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter. Truth is nowhere to be found and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice.”
So for the last month or so we came to find out the Summit had their  building up for sale. The word was also out that they were CLOSING the end of September. Their business has been down for quite a while and statistics show that less women are getting abortions. When we started in 1990 the Summit was doing up to 80 abortions a day, four days a week. Now in Sept 2015 the norm has been less than 10 abortions a day two days a week. The Summit said yesterday that they are no longer doing “terminations”. They are referring surgical abortions to Planned Parenthood in New Haven and chemical abortions to Planned Parenthood in Bridgeport which is moving next door to the Hopeline Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Now we can focus most of our efforts on the New England Headquarters for Planned Parenthood at 345 Whitney Ave, New Haven. They do abortions Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (8 AM- 10 AM). Planned Parenthood is the #1 abortion provider in our nation…but not for long in JESUS name!! We want to encourage everyone to come out and help shut this “Goliath” down. In Christ’s name… Nothing is impossible with our God!!
Proverbs 24:10-12 “”If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small. Deliver those who are drawn toward death, And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say “Surely we did not know this.” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according  to his deeds?”
The total count since 1990 of babies saved is 2371 and salvations is 418.
All praise and honor goes to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gives us all the opportunity to co-labor with Him. We take a  step in faith when we go out to the streets to fulfill the Great Commission and are ready and willing to get involved helping the lost and the needy.
We can’t even put into words the emotions and memories we are feeling and what we are thinking about right now. We’ve been waiting for this “Big Day” for the last 25 years. We needed to be faithful like Noah. It is God’s perfect timing…….Hallelujah!! We are planning to have a memorial and celebration service in the future. We will keep you posted.
We are still working with many moms that have changed their minds in the past. We still have moms that are due to have their babies within the next six months. We still need your help!! We are not STOPPING until JESUS comes back!! We always need baby items, diapers and wipes. We are on the front lines and all of you that help us are our supply line. We appreciate your prayer and support, we cannot do this alone. WE WANT TO THANK ALL THE LABORERS WHO HAVE COME OUT TO PRAY AND ENCOURAGE THE MOMS TO CHOOSE LIFE. GOD BLESS YOU!!! Now we need you all to come out to Planned Parenthood in New Haven.
For the Least of These,
Marilyn Carroll & Carmen Vazquez

“The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name (Exodus 15:3).”

To the modern day milquetoast, feminized, peace-at-all-cost boys in America this is a rather strange depiction of the Lord. The reason is less complicated than one might imagine. For several decades, the church in America has been content to abandon the warrior, masculine aspects of the God of the Bible and replace Him instead with an adaptation that suits America’s “nicer than Jesus” mentality. Many pulpits throughout America have consistently preached a feminized version of the Gospel. It is no small wonder why people would cringe at this aggressive portrayal of God Almighty in Scripture.

Regrettably, many churchmen ignore our Lord’s admonishment, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12, NKJ). Granted, the initial violence commences inwardly. It is the force of God’s truth, which attacks the deception enslaving the minds of men to sinful bondages. God’s Word has no mercy upon the den of thieves who ransack our hearts and steal our minds from the Lord our God. He is indeed a jealous God (Exodus 20:5). From there, however, the violence spreads as Christians endure persecution by spreading truth and standing for righteousness in a world addicted to wicked lies.

Remove the violent nature of the Kingdom and one can easily surmise why women would find the Lord more appealing than men. The results of a kinder, gentler Gospel are telling. Authentic manhood is suspect, fatherhood is superfluous, and men who act like men are anathema to the modern, metro sexual factions of society.

Once the church shied away from the revelation “The Lord is a man of war,” Biblical manhood became archaic. In its stead, America opted for a sexual hybrid society. This sexual rebellion led to a colossal quandary. Our sexual dilemma is part and parcel of America’s cultural corruption, which demands the removal of all distinctions between men and women. The confusion this unisex mindset has wrought upon our young is deplorable.

The gender blender movement has produced startling results. We stand in awkward amazement as we raise “men” who biologically can have children (women) and males that crave to be females. And what is our collective response? We bow before the idol of tolerance while it rots our culture like a spiritual and moral cancer.

The church inadvertently has participated in this befuddled cultural experiment. This too has come with a towering price tag. Many men have turned away from their duties toward God, family, church, and the culture. This distressing condition reveals why churches mainly comprise women and children today. Men, for the most part, are spiritually AWOL and morally missing in action. They would rather stay at home on Sunday watching sporting events and vicariously live their manhood through action figures in Hollywood movies, then to be bored to tears sitting in a church. May I suggest that these things ought not to be.

The source of the problem is not primarily gender related as much as it is a theological issue. Where there is orthodoxy (right teaching and sound doctrine) orthopraxy (good behavior and right action) should follow. The church, however, to avoid conflict, confrontation, and conquest has relinquished these bedrock realities.

The church has no qualms highlighting the mercy (motherly) side of Christ, while she barely mentions the prophetic, justice (fatherly) aspects of God. She touts from the rooftops the love of God, but whisper in soft tones the justice of God. She emphasize the nurturing attributes of the Lord, but shies away from the disciplinary actions of our King. She shouts the forgiveness of God, but rarely a word of His wrath. One does not have to be a rocket scientist to discover why women and children would find this lopsided depiction of Jesus more attractive than men. Especially, men who may still have some pockets of testosterone left in our feminized nation.

Rev. William Einwechter commenting on the Lord as a “man of war” stated:

First, God, through the inspired words of Scripture, depicts Himself as a “man of war” engaged in a battle against His enemies (Exodus. 15:3-9; Isaiah. 42:13). The Lord reveals that He is “mighty in battle” (i.e. warfare; Psalm 24:8). He describes Himself using weapons of war (e.g., the sword and arrows; Deuteronomy 32:41-42) to take vengeance on His enemies.
If warfare is always evil and the warrior is always acting sinfully when wielding his weapons, then God could not depict His nature and ways by reference to war. The fact that God so extensively associates Himself with war and the warrior indicates that war can be just. The Messiah, the Lord Jesus, is also depicted as a warrior engaged in battle in both the Old and New Testaments (Psalm 110; Revelation 19:11-21).

Second, God commanded Israel to engage in war and went forth with His people to give them victory in battle. This included the charge to destroy the Canaanites and the commands related to the defense of the land of Palestine against invaders and oppressors (e.g., Judges 4:6, 7; 6:11-17; 1 Chronicles 14:8-17). God cannot command His people to do that which is intrinsically evil.

Third, the Lord gave specific instructions on the conduct of war in His revealed law (Deut. 20:1-20). All of the laws of God are just. Therefore, it follows that war itself is just if the laws of God concerning it are followed.

Fourth, men of God, such as Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Gideon and David, engaged in warfare with God’s approval and help. Furthermore, the New Testament specifically endorses the warfare of these men as examples of faith in God and what faith can accomplish (Hebrews 11:33, 34).

Fifth, the New Testament does not repeal the Old Testament law in regard to war, and specifically upholds, in principle, the civil magistrates’ authority to go to war. The sword that is given by the Lord to the civil ruler, which he does not wield in vain as God’s minister, is a weapon of war and symbol of warfare (Romans 13:1-4). Additionally, Jesus, John the Baptist, and Peter did not call soldiers who believed in God to leave their profession of arms (Luke 7:9; 3:14; Acts 10).

God’s word commands, “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong (1 Corinthians 16:13, King James Version).” God presupposes strength to men. He desires men to act like men with no apology necessary. He wired men to be aggressive, adventurous, achievers, overcomers, explorers, conquerors, protectors, and providers in his name. Tragically, this expression in men has been suppressed by feminism, corrupted by machismo, and perverted by homosexuality.

Taylor Caldwell, in her 1970 article in American Opinion, “They’re Spoiling Eve’s Great Con Game,” stated, “Remember this: The strongest sign of the decay of a nation is the feminization of men and the masculinization of women.” Both of these manifestations are happening under our watch. As a result, we are out of order in our homes, churches, society, and our children suffer the dreadful consequences.

What can be done to reverse this awful trend? First, we must understand that men are at their best laying down their lives for God, country, home and hearth. C. S. Lewis wrote, “The disparate strands of manhood– fierceness and gentleness–can find healthy synthesis in the person of the knight and in the code of chivalry. Here these competing impulses–normally found in different individuals–find their union.”

The Lord is a man of war and yet he is the epitome of love. God exercises great wrath on rare occasions and yet is gentle, kind, and considerate towards his creatures. All His justice, wrath, anger, coupled with his mercy, love, and grace met at the cross and kissed each other. Psalm 85:10 states, “Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed.” The divine tension at the cross appeased God’s justice and released God’s forgiveness in our poor fallen world.

It therefore behooves men to recapture the tension between fierceness and gentleness in order to courageously lead with God’s Word once again. Men must be strong enough to lead and gentle enough to care. C S Lewis suggested that it was the chivalrous model of knighthood that can help in this process. In my first book The Kingdom Leadership Manual in the Appendix section I list the actual nine principles associated with Knighthood. I updated the language for a modern audience, but the Biblical principles remain the same.

I state:

The Knightly Code of Honor is a tremendous model to train young men in the concept of chivalry. It will help them become poets, warriors, and statesmen, for the glory of God and the benefit of women and children. It will aid every young man in making wise decisions for his life. If a young man embraces it and lives it out, it will forge the manly character that is necessary for leadership—a leadership times like this demands.

1. Believe in the Lord and obey his teachings.

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments” (1 John 2:3).

2. Obey lawful authorities, so long as your obedience does not bring you in conflict with the duties owed to God.

“We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

3. Respect and pity the weak, and be steadfast in defending them.

“Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked” (Psalms 82:3–4).

4. Love your country.

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:18–20).

5. Refuse to retreat before the enemy.

“A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring” (Proverbs 25:26).

6. Be courteous to women.

“[Entreat] the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity” (1 Timothy 5:2).

7. Be loyal to the truth and your pledged word.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:22).

8. Be generous in giving.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

9. Champion the right and the good, in every place and at every time, against the forces of evil.

“Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalms 94:16).
