Bruce Garren, a longtime friend of ours and one who has been instrumental in heading up the “Personhood” movement in the state of Kansas, has written a short and concise article articulating the reason why “Personhood” is the only piece of legislation that has God’s imprimatur.  As Bruce unsheathes the Sword of the Spirit in response to those (Pro-lifers) who are attempting to regulate abortion rather than ending it, see if your heart does not pound within you.  ~ Flip

If not personhood, what is the plan to end abortion in Kansas?

by Bruce Garren

I have heard the Rev Flip Benham, Director of Operation Save America, proclaim on several occasions that, “Abortion will end in America when the church of Jesus Christ makes up her mind it will end – and not one second sooner.” This certainly falls under the heading of bold statements. There a many parts of this proclamation that a person could question, such as how could Rev. Benham possibly know this to be true? Why is it that only the church has the power to end abortion, and how can a claim be made without honestly considering the power of the United States government to influence the outcome? All are good questions I’m sure Rev. Benham would be willing, if not eager to respond to, but I want to focus on another aspect of his claim. I want us consider the reality that there could truly be an end to abortion in America.

Like many of you, I have been fighting against abortion for what seems like a long time. Also, like many of you, I have applied myself in a number of different strategies. I have voted pro-life, written editorials, contacted legislators, attended rallies, taught classes, held signs, prayed, and fasted. All of which I have found to be worthwhile efforts, but none have succeeded in themselves to end abortion. Until recently, none of these activities were actually part of a plan to end abortion once and for all. Certainly, everything we have done had as its primary goal the end of abortion in America, and the hope was always be to save as many innocent lives as possible, but none provided a plan to actually end child killing once and for all.

Although reducing the number of unborn children killed can appear to be a worthwhile interim goal for us, it can never ever be what our efforts lead to. We must not lose sight that reducing abortion is not and cannot be our goal! Even one child legally lost to surgical or chemical abortion would bring as much shame on America as the 1.2 million that were killed last year. I believe that’s what Ambassador Alan Keyes means when referring to the compromising the life of even one unborn child: “It’s the devil’s game – Satan would be happy to end all abortion if only he could get all of us to consent to killing one child.”

Our national shame is not from the number of unborn children legally murdered in our hospitals and abortion clinics each day, but it comes from our willingness to permit even one unborn child to be killed without our outrage.

Recently, I was part of a discussion about ending abortion in our state with several high-level government officials. After some time, and after the officials castigated the personhood strategy, I finally relented. I asked a particular gentleman a question that has gone unanswered. “Okay, I understand you don’t like personhood as a way to end abortion in Kansas. So, if not the Kansas Personhood Amendment, what is your plan to end abortion during the Governor’s term of office?” I couldn’t believe what I saw and heard next. He looked stunned and ill prepared for the question. “Well, we are several years away from that still,” he said.

After that discussion, I came to realize that our problem is not the disagreement on the personhood amendment strategy. The issue is that, among the personhood opponents, there is little hope at all of actually ending abortion in a short time frame. They are preparing to battle for the next several decades.

This same outlook is true of many of our leaders. It has been parroted, often from surprising sources. National Right to Life lead attorney, James Bopp, for instance, once charged that “wise leaders recognized from the beginning that one of their foremost tasks was to keep abortion alive as an issue.” And having compared the pro-life movement to the prohibition movement, he claimed that if we were to pass a ban on abortion, “No one would read [our] literature, attend [our] ‘rallies,’ or donate to the cause.”

In his response to Bopp, Robert Muise, Esq. of the Thomas More Law Center wrote: “The obvious problem with keeping abortion alive as an issue, is that keeping abortion alive means killing the unborn. Each day abortion remains an issue—and the law of the land—is a day in which innocent life is destroyed…If succeeding in reversing Roe v. Wade and ending the slaughter of millions of innocent lives each year means “no one would read [NRTL] literature, attend [its] ‘rallies,’ or donate to the cause,’ then that is the price of victory we should be willing to pay.”

If you are like the many Kansans we have talked to across the state who want to see child killing not just reduced, limited, or restricted but ended in Kansas once and for all and you want to be part of a plan, tell everyone you know that you want the decision in your hands. Tell them you want to be able to vote on the single most critical vote of your life. Tell your family, friends, community leaders, church members, and legislators that you want the Personhood Amendment on the statewide ballot.

Do not leave this vote in the hands of anyone else. Don’t trust anyone to represent your position on child killing. The Personhood Amendment provides you a way to end abortion in Kansas and a plan in which to do it.

Rev. Benham is right, and it is long past time for the church of Jesus Christ to speak out boldly about the slaughter of the children. We have a way to end the killing in Kansas and it’s called the Personhood Amendment, but it looks like you will have to insist that it be put on the ballot. If you want to be heard by the powers that be in Kansas, you will have to speak loudly, clearly and persistently! Tell them, “I want to vote on the Personhood Amendment because I want to end the killing, NOW!”

Pastor Ed Martin and the blessed saints in Jacksonville, Florida, are continuing the battle for the lives of their preborn brothers and sisters.  All over the country this battle is being won in the streets.  “for everyone born of God overcomes the world.  This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.”  1 John 5:4.  Do you believe this?  Me too, and therefore I am greatly encouraged.

Dear Family for LIFE,

Today we had our first Pastors Stand for LIFE today.

We had pastors share with 50 – 60 people the evils of abortion and how God expects us to combat it.

Pastor Tim Nelson, Hope Baptist Church, brought his youth group.

Anthony Johnson, Jacksonville Jaguars chaplain, told them how much Jesus loved them and what He expected of them.

Rob Barnaby, their youth pastor read from Matthew 7:13-14 telling them how the gate to destruction is wide, encouraging them to choose the narrow gate to LIFE and follow its straight path.

This youth group from Hope Baptist comes EVERY Saturday morning.  Some of them stand vigil even when they are on spring break!

They sacrifice their Saturday mornings getting up at 6:30 a.m. to be the arms and legs and voice of Jesus, because they “Hope in Christ”

Bianca, standing between her youth pastors, Rob and Ruthie, presented her senior photo essay on why “Abortion should be ILLEGAL” and received an A++!

Hope Baptist Youth Group is an integral part of our Family for LIFE and they invite other youths to join them as they try to save their peers from the tragedy of abortion.

By the way, our group this Saturday, representatives from about 10 churches, was so large that we had to straddle the driveway leading to A Woman’s Choice of Jacksonville, the grey building behind the vigilers (on the left of center in the photo below).

Next Saturday, March 31, please join us for two events, our last during the 40 Days for LIFE.

At 8:00 a.m., we will have a Memorial Service for the Unborn on the sidewalk at 4131 University Blvd.

Also, at 8:00, there will be the 100+ Man March starting with Mass at Prince of Peace Church followed by a 3.8 mile march for men only (The men want to “carry their weight” in this organized effort to rid Jacksonville of abortion! Ladies, you are welcome to join us on the sidewalk or stay at Prince of Peace Church and pray as your men march for LIFE. )  Their route will encompass the 3 operating abortion facilities in Jacksonville.

If you would like more information about either event, please email me.

God bless you!

It is not very often that one gets to witness firsthand the theology of heaven become biography at the gates of hell.  But that is exactly what happened at the Rowan County Commission meeting in North
Carolina on Monday, February 20, 2012.  Hundreds of gentle Christians from churches across Rowan County attended the meeting to encourage their county commissioners to “stand tall” against the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.  The 4th Circuit has ruled that opening prayers in “Jesus’ Name” is unconstitutional.

The sad thing is that the City of Charlotte, just last month, bowed its knee to the 4th Circuit’s infantile decision and is now kissing the face of Baal. No opening prayers in the “Name of Jesus” in the city of Charlotte.  So, what is a Christian to do?

Exactly what the Rowan County Board of Commissioners did.  They opened their meeting in the magnificent Name of Jesus.  That’s right!  They opened the meeting in the Name that is above every name, and before Whom every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord.  They didn’t blink.  They didn’t shrink in the face of adversity.  They ran to the roar. They cut off the head of the roaring lion that caused the city of Charlotte and several other cities to bow.

Where did these County Commissioners get the courage to stand, and after they had done everything, to stand!  The Church of Jesus Christ in Rowan County supplies the answer.  She showed up and stood with them.  Just view the pictures below.  Click on each one and notice the fire in the hearts of these gentle Christians.  Their chins are set like flint toward Jerusalem (the cross).  Does this remind you of anybody you might know?

I’m sorry I am so late in writing this and bringing it to your attention.  I was there.  I spoke.  I saw the theology of heaven become biography at the meeting.  It was glorious.  I am thankful in Jesus’ wonderful Name.

Enjoy!

Speakers urge commissioners: Keep praying ‘in Jesus’ name’

By Karissa Minn ~ kminn@salisburypost.com

SALISBURY — Someone walking by the county administration building Monday night could have mistaken what was going on inside for a church revival.

In the lobby, a multitude of people sang hymns and joined in prayer. In the county commissioners’ meeting room upstairs, there was passionate preaching and enthusiastic calls of “amen.”

But Monday’s proceedings were part of a meeting of the Rowan County Board of Commissioners. During the public comment period, about two dozen people stood up to speak about the way they and their commissioners pray.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has asked the Rowan County board to stop opening its meetings with sectarian prayer, or prayer that is specific to one religion.

The request came a month after the U.S. Supreme Court let stand a 4th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that Forsyth County commissioners’ opening prayers are unconstitutional because they are overwhelmingly Christian, ending a five-year court battle.

Katy Parker, legal director for the state’s ACLU chapter, said last week that since the Supreme Court declined to hear Forsyth’s appeal, her organization has contacted 25-30 government bodies across the state for which it has received complaints from citizens about prayers. She said most are working with thier attorneys to comply with the 4th Circuit decision, but that Rowan “is the first one out of 25 or 30 saying that they’re going to completely disregard the law.”

Hundreds of people gathered for the meeting Monday, packing the main board room, spilling into an overflow room and filling the lobby. They waited to share their opinions — and to see what the board would do.

Chairman Chad Mitchell started the meeting with a brief invocation addressed to “Father” and made “in Jesus’ name.” Several people raised their voices in agreement with his “amen.”

All but one speaker thanked the commissioners for continuing to pray in the name of Jesus. Many said they’re worried that this is part of a movement to take away, not to protect, individual religious freedom.

“If they tell county commissioners they can’t pray, soon they’re going to be in my church telling me I can’t pray in the name of Jesus,” said Terry Brown, a western Rowan County resident.

Several Bible verses were read, including Colossians 3:16 — “Whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father.”

Stanley Richert Freeborn, an evangelist from Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, said asking a Christian not to call God “Jesus” is like asking him not to call his friend “Steve,” but instead “hey you” or “hey man.”

Freeborn said he actually wants to thank the ACLU.

“I’ve wondered for a long time if we were ever going to really experience revival in our churches and in our nation,” Freeborn said. “I don’t know if the ACLU understands or not, but they’re waking up a sleeping giant.”

Salisbury resident Chris Crowell agreed that Monday night felt like a revival, but said “it’s not supposed to be when public business is being discussed.”

“I think what’s going on right now is a clear example of why we need this law, and why it should be obeyed,”he said.

Crowell, who works for the Salisbury Post in the information technology department, was the only speaker to oppose the commissioners’ method of opening in prayer. He said he thinks there’s been a misunderstanding about what the ACLU wants.

“Nobody’s trying to keep any of you folks from praying,” Crowell said. “I’d be the first in line to lay down my life for your right to believe and pray as you want to. … I ask for the respect to not use public meetings to advance or promote your religion, and that’s what it seems to be.”

He said prayer by officials before a government meeting — but not during one — would be private, protected speech.

A moment of silence, Crowell said, is another alternative that would provide equality for those who don’t share the commissioners’ beliefs.

The ACLU has said this is a lawful option for the board. Another option is praying in general terms that do not reference a specific deity.

Parker said last week that the organization has received more complaints about Rowan County than any other government in North Carolina.

She said the complaints come from people who, like Crowell, feel like their government shouldn’t endorse a particular religion. And she said some are willing to serve as plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the county, if it comes to that.

But others at Monday’s meeting said commissioners should have the right to pray according to their beliefs, and that’s not stopping others from praying — or not praying — according to theirs.

John Bare, of Salisbury, read the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The part having to do with religion says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

“I don’t see the part where you can stop someone from the free expression of their religion just because they are working in a government position,” Bare said. “You cannot be made to practice, but you also cannot be inhibited from practicing.”

He said the commissioners’ prayers are voluntary, and no one is being forced to participate in them, so they do not violate the Constitution.

“The people who are trying to push the freedom of religion out of government are nothing more than people wanting to force others to do as they say and they believe,” Bare said.

His wife, Marina, said she used to live under a system of government that “removed God from people’s lives and replaced it with fear.” She said when she came here, she was pleased to see the freedom and patriotism that people enjoy in America.

Marina Bare held up a red hammer and sickle – a symbol of the former Soviet Union — and warned that America could become the “U.S.S.R., United States of a Screwed up Republic” if people don’t stand up to the government for their freedoms.

The ACLU has said it wants an answer from Rowan commissioners by March 5 — the date of the county board’s next meeting.

So far, four out of the five commissioners have said they don’t intend to change the way they pray, because they believe strongly that as Christians they should pray in Jesus’ name.

Commissioner Raymond Coltrain said last week that he doesn’t mind using different words to convey the same meaning when he prays. He said the important thing is that God knows his intent.

Commissioner Jim Sides has said he will continue to pray in the name of Jesus and will volunteer to go to jail over it. This consequence, along with a fine, may come about if a lawsuit is filed and a judge orders commissioners to stop, Jay Dees, the county’s attorney, said last week.

Some speakers Monday encouraged board members to keep doing what they’re doing, no matter the consequences.

John Melton, a China Grove resident and pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, said he admires those on the board who will pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

“Born-again children of God — that’s what we need running this country,” he said. “It’s time to make up your mind whose side you’re on.”

Home-Schooled Student Faces Death Threats from Homosexual Activists

By Jay Rogers

I’ve known Karl Crank since 1987 when he came to the University of Massachusetts at Amherst to help our campus group with evangelistic outreaches while I was a student. Karl and several other members of Boston Maranatha Church were responsible for getting me involved with direct action on the pro-life front through Operation Rescue Boston in 1988. It was no surprise to me when I learned that Karl and his wife Kathleen had become advocates to protect traditional marriage in their current home state of Maryland.

See: A Crank on Gay Marriage – Murphy Brown Revisted.

What did come as a shock is the vitriol, threats and hatred that have been spewed at them and even their children from the homosexual political activist community.

The threats toward their oldest daughter, which now number in the thousands, expose the true face of the so-called “same-sex” marriage movement. It is not a campaign for tolerance and equal rights, but a push to eradicate Christianity from public discourse. It has taken the form of a campaign to punish a 14-year-old home-schooled Christian girl for speaking her opinion at an open forum held in a state house sub-committee meeting in Annapolis, Maryland on January 31st, 2012. This is what lies in store for Christians who want to express their beliefs when same-sex “marriage” becomes accepted as a civil right in our nation.

The Forerunner has tried to expose the myth of neutrality and the true nature of spiritual warfare surrounding such “social issues” in numerous articles and video presentations such as God’s Law and Society and The Abortion Matrix. The attack on traditional marriage is much more than a liberal social experiment, but it represents an attack on the right to exercise the Christian faith in the public square.

14-Year-Old Sarah Crank faces death threats after stating her opinion on same-sex “marriage”

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND (www.forerunner.com) — At a subcommittee hearing in the state house in Annapolis, Maryland, representatives debating a same sex “marriage” measure heard expert testimony from various witnesses The microphone was then opened to anyone in attendance to give a one-minute testimony stating their opinion.

Sarah Crank, a 14-year-old high school student, came with her mother and friends prepared to give a three-minute speech. After quickly culling down her notes to exactly one-minute and stated her opinion that the homosexual lifestyle is a choice and that she personally knew several adults involved in the homosexual lifestyle who had changed their behavior. Therefore, she reasoned, the definition of marriage ought not be changed by a legal statute because it would infringe on the rights of those who don’t want to be affected by that choice.

Transcript of the Testimony

Hi, I’m Sarah Crank. Today’s my 14th birthday, and it would be the best birthday present ever if you would vote “no” on gay marriage. I really feel bad for the kids who have two parents of the same gender. Even though some kids think it’s fine, they have no idea what kind of wonderful experiences they miss out on. I don’t want more kids to get confused about what’s right and okay. I really don’t want to grow up in a world where marriage isn’t such a special thing anymore.

It’s rather scary to think that when I grow up the legislature or the court can change the definition of any word they want. If they could change the definition of marriage then they could change the definition of any word. People have the choice to be gay, but I don’t want to be affected by their choice. People say that they were born that way, but I’ve met really nice adults who did change. So please vote “no” on gay marriage. Thank you.

Responses to the Testimony

The recorded testimony, which is public record, was commended by one of the sponsors of the gay “marriage” bill, who said, “Thank you. That was a very good testimony. One last question: Where are you in school?”

“I’m home-schooled,” she replied.

“Okay, good for you. You get an ‘A.’”

Another representative asked her where she lived and told her, “You did a great job on your birthday.”

Homosexual activists in attendance then chose three testimonies to post on YouTube. Sarah Crank’s was one of them. Since she named her hometown at the request of the committee, people were able to locate her home address and information about her parents.

In early February, the audio of Sarah Crank’s testimony then went viral on several sites including Salon.com, LGBTQNation.com and the HuffingtonPost.com.

“And now everyone knows her name, so hopefully she will feel what its like to be harassed and bullied …” reads a comment posted on LGBTQNation.com

From YouTube: “My god I hate people like this. Most (not all) Americans are [expletive] retards. If I ever see this girl, I will kill her. That’s a promise.”

Other entries: “Her parents should be exterminated.”

“The [sic] is why abortion must stay legal – to prevent little bigots like this from being Born…”

“Kill this child and his [sic] parent, for my 11 birthday would be a wonderful gift, thanks.”

“Her belief is hurting other people. I will attack her as much as I please.”

“Parents like hers should be sterilized…”

“I’m gonna kill ‘er!”

Her father, Karl Crank, began compiling these threats and abusive comments. “I collected a 45-page file of the profane cursing, near-threats, threats, and death threats. I gave up collecting these about a week after Sarah’s testimony. Just too many of them to track. And, I wasn’t ever going to track all those people down to confront them, and the police weren’t swayed by this file, and the FBI never returned my call.”

There is now an undergoing campaign of harassment toward the Crank family by the homosexual activist community.

One website is dedicated to having Sarah Crank stripped of her title as the 2011 Junior Miss Greenbelt, which according to their website is a competition “designed to teach girls poise and self confidence, how to be at ease with themselves and others, and how to have fun in a team effort toward a common goal.” The website encourages gay activists to contact the corporate sponsors of Miss Greenbelt and demand that the “money., crown and sash” be stripped from Sarah and returned to the pageant.

Another group seeks to have the home-schooling Crank parents investigated by child services.

On and on it goes to many thousands of instances of hostile harassment.

If this makes you hopping mad, then please pray for the Crank family. But more importantly, this instance illustrates the need for Christians to get involved in the fight to save our culture. Our children will inherit a society that is either pagan or Christian. There can be no tolerance for both in the “neutral public square” because the pagan worldview wants Christian voices silenced and those who refuse to be quiet to be put to death.

This hammers home a point that we’ve tried to make through The Forerunner since the first issue appeared in 1981. When faced with the Lordship of Jesus Christ, there really is no such thing as neutrality. Every statement we make is a moral statement that either favors or opposes God’s moral law. Every action we do and every word we say will one day be exposed and judged for all to see by Christ the king, the judge of all the universe.

Christians who dare to speak the principles of God’s moral law will find themselves in a conflict – a cosmic war that has gone on from the beginning of time. It should not surprise us when the world and the devil is against us succeeding in advancing Christ’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. We can be comforted in knowing that we will win in the end. In order to be victorious we need to be on the winning side. To do that, we stand for the Lordship of Jesus in all areas of human life. But make no mistake about it, the true faith is a deadly serious call to take up our cross and suffer the insults, murderous threats and even death for the cause of Christ.

“Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12).

President Obama on the floor of the Illinois State Senate, on April 4, 2002,  advocating the killing of a child if the child is born aliveafter a failed abortion.  His criteria?  If the mother intended to have the child killed, yet the child is born alive, no physician may render aid to save the life of said child.  We have it on tape and Senate transcripts.

Our good friend Chet Gallagher and his wife Jo Ann have had some great experiences ministering the Gospel of Christ together.  Here is another example of what happens when one dares allow the theology of heaven to become biography in the streets.

Enjoy! ~ Flip

It was an interesting day for JoAnn and I during today’s prolife outreach…

First a “pickpocket” in the crowd at UNLV actually “heisted” and made off with my Verizon smartphone! Yikes! (so you can’t call me tonight or tomorrow either.) Then I spent some time in handcuffs this afternoon when JoAnn and I were at a local high school distributing some great prolife literature with my friends Don Blythe and Bud Reeves from northern CA.

I had taken a position down the street from the rest of the folks. I found a great location on the public sidewalk where students were in great number. Very soon I was told to move away from the school by a high school official (actually a hall monitor) and when I refused school cops showed up ordering me to stop, which of course, I didn’t and it resulted in the officer being a bit more insistent then necessary. I was waiting for their supervisor to arrive but I continued to disregard the rookie (“Christian”) officer’s order to stop giving the prolife Gospel tracts to the students while remaining on the public sidewalk. Two more school police officers arrived as a back-up and moments later I was in handcuffs. We were all still waiting for the Sgt who hadn’t yet arrived…but JoAnn just did.

JoAnn had successfully handed out over a hundred brochures just down the block. When she approached and saw me in handcuffs. She said to the officers, “Take him to jail!” They asked, “And who are you?” “I’m his wife.” Well, they all laughed and she disarmed them as only she can do so moments later the back up and senior officer removed the cuffs.

By this time however all the students had departed. The Supervisor was delayed for some time so both JoAnn and I had a great time as we witnessed to the officers. I shared my testimony (and more) but JoAnn asked the officer who’d handcuffed me, if he was a Christian. He said, “Yes” and named the church he attended. She said, I know your pastor and I think I’m going to give him a call. “You wouldn’t…really…would you?” “Yup, I think so”, she replied.

When their SGT finally arrived (about 20 minutes into the event) he told the rookies officer that in fact I was right and I was fine to remain right where I was. I was also welcomed to return tomorrow. So we parted friends and left…for now.

You do make strange friends, in not so typical ways, in prolife ministry. Glory!

Yeshua is King! Let’s serve Him!

 Chet and JoAnn

We are now at the Word and Warfare stage of our campaign Operation – First Abortion Free State.  We will be reading the entire Bible (unsheathing the Sword of the Spirit) at the gates of hell (the local abortion mills) in all five of the states that have one remaining abortion mill within their boundaries.  Our desire is to present to our Lord the first abortion free state at the Lincoln Memorial where we will also present to Him our National Emancipation Proclamation for the Unborn Child, in January, 2013.  The spiritual significance of this is monumental for it frees God’s hand to heal our land.  Below the dates and places for Word and Warfare. ~ Flip

Word in Warfare Opportunities

The States of Refuge campaign continues to march on. The next major push in implementing the vision is called Word in Warfare. Brother Chet Gallagher (Our state leader in Mississippi), based upon his study of Scripture, devised this battle strategy in spiritual warfare to be employed at the gates of hell throughout the land.

The Word in Warfare mission is designed to inspire Christians to unsheathe the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and declare, “Thus Saith the Lord” by reading aloud the entire Bible at key gates. In this instance, it will be employed at the five states, Arkansas, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming at the one death camp remaining that defiles our land. Each state leader will commence this aspect of the States of Refuge campaign on different dates.

Chet Gallagher in Jackson, Mississippi and Coach Dave Daubenmire in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will kick their Word in Warfare assignment off on April 2, 3, and 4th. This is a strategic time. The Spring Forty Days for Life ends on April 1st. Right after this time of fasting and prayer, Word in Warfare will unleash God’s Word. We are praying God’s Word will go forth in power to defeat this evil that murders babies, enslaves the workers of iniquity, defiles our land, and invokes God’s judgement upon our nation.

Remember the power of God’s word according to Jeremiah. Jeremiah 1:9, 10 declares, “Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said to me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.” God’s Word spoken by God’s people in faith can root up what is evil and plant what is good in God’s sight.

A Kansas Pastor in Jackson Hole, Wyoming plans on commencing the Word in Warfare on April 27, 28, and 29th. Pastor Mark Kiser in Little Rock, Arkansas plans on initiating Word in Warfare on May 4, 5, and 6th. Cal Zastrow is still working on the dates for Fargo, North Dakota. As soon as he gets them to me, I’ll pass them unto you.

All these state leaders need volunteers to come and boldly delcare God’s Word to the principalities and powers dominating these abortion mills. Please pray about supporting this next phase of the campaign in some manner. These men and this ministry need prayer. Let them know you are praying. These men need team members to stand with them to wield the sword of the Spirit in the battle for the souls of men, the lives of babies, and the future of our nation. Please try to come and participate if at all possible. Each team leader needs about 20 team members optimum and 10 team members minimum. Help send them if you cannot go yourself with financial support.

You can send your donations to:

States of Refuge
P.O. Box 3126
Waco, TX 76707

or donate online at:

Sioux Falls, South Dakota – April 2, 3, and 4th | Contact Coach Dave at coach@ptsalt.comg

Little Rock, Arkansas – May 4, 5, and 6th | Contact Pastor Mark Kiser at pastormarkkiser@yahoo.com

Fargo, North Dakota – Dates to be determined | Contact Cal Zastrow at calzastrow@hotmail.com

God willing, I plan on participating in four of the five Word in Warfare events. Since there is a conflict in schedule with the April 2, 3, and 4th, dates, I plan on joining Coach in South Dakota. With all dispatch, please pass on this strategic ministry opportunity and call your friends, family, and churches to help get boots on the ground in these five states during this next phase of the States of Refuge campaign. Thanks!

Newt Gingrich does an excellent job destroying Piers Morgan’s obvious bent toward Islam and what a wonderful religion it is. Wonderful that is, if it weren’t for us ugly Americans who bring the truth to bear on their false prophet, false book, and false god. Notice how glibly Piers talks about those few American soldiers killed.

This six minute video is well worth a look.

Our brother Cal is fighting the good fight for the lives of preborn children by obtaining signatures on Personhood Amendment petitions.  How far we have been moved, as Christians, from proclaiming the Gospel of Christ.  We have become the criminals by standing for life while abortionists have become fine upstanding citizens for ripping apart little baby boys and girls. ~ Flip

Here’s the Preliminary Statement

Jo Scott has put together a carefully researched article concerning Saul Alinsky, President Obama, and their relationship with the Catholic Church.  You may be surprised.  ~ Flip

SAUL ALINSKY, BARACK OBAMA LINKED TO CATHOLIC CHURCH

by Jo Scott

How are Obama visiting Notre Dame, community organizers, and the contraception mandate related?  Hang tight.  I’m about to piece it together for you with the help of Michael Voris of Real Catholic TV.  Publications like The Wanderer have documented the facts and raised the same questions that Voris raises in his pilot video for real catholictv.com.   It is worth the time that it takes to view the presentation.

For those that don’t have the time to watch Voris’ informative lecture, I will summarize the major points. In the 1930s, Saul Alinsky was an activist working with a juvenile delinquency group in Chicago.  Alinsky was a Jewish atheist, and today is known as the father of community organizing. He wrote Reveille for Radicals in 1947.  In it he states that community organizing is another word for revolution.  In 1971 he wrote another book, Rules for Radicals, which he dedicates to Lucifer, “The first rebel who, through his actions, inherits his own kingdom.”

In the 1930s, Alinsky met the Meegan brothers, Joseph and Peter.  Joseph introduced him to the Chicago Bishops and to his brother, Fr. Peter Meegan, who in turn introduced Saul to Aux. Bishop Bernard Sheil.  Meegan and Sheil introduced Alinsky to the inner workings of the Catholic Church.  During this time, Saul organized his first community project called the “Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council.”  At this point, Alinsky pulled off his greatest coup and garnered the Bishops’ public seal of approval.  He convinced Aux. Bishop Sheil to join John L. Lewis, the head of the CIO (eventually known as the AFLCIO), on stage. At that moment the Catholic Church and the labor unions entered into an unholy partnership.

Msgr. Jack Egan teamed up with Alinsky, and in time, Egan was affectionately known by the Chicago press as “Alinsky’s priest intern.”  Egan promoted Alinsky so well that he was more popular among Catholics than the bishops.  Through the 40s, 50s, and 60s, Egan and Alinsky developed a well oiled network of priests and bishops throughout the United States.  In 1968, newly appointed Cardinal Cody realized that what Msgr. Egan was doing was not in line with Catholic doctrine and closed his office.

Fr. Ted Hesburgh invited Msgr. Egan to Notre Dame for a sabbatical.  He remained at Notre Dame for the next 14 years where he continued to develop his priests’ network.  Egan periodically brought priests to the Catholic Mecca for conferences under the liberal eye of Hesburgh.  Egan was now in mainstream Catholic life.

During Egan’s time at Notre Dame in the late 60s, race riots broke out around the country.  A document called Black Manifesto was published which called for reparations for African Americans.  The Catholic Church chose Msgr. Jack Egan and his network of priests to come up with a plan to alleviate poverty.  All of Egan’s priests, save one, were personally trained by Saul Alinsky in the tactics laid out in his book, Reveille for Radicals.  This opportunity allowed Egan’s network of priests to implement Saul Alinsky’s radical community organizing tactics of gaining power and strength from the people and using it to empower and enlarge government.

In a few months, the network created the “National Crusade against Poverty” (NCAP) and committed to raise 50 million dollars over several years.  The campaign should have raised the money and dissolved.  It did not, and in fact, it is still in existence today under the name of the “Catholic Campaign for Human Development.”  The CCHD has raised over $289,000,000 in 40 years, and by donating to the radical left, they have gained immense power in the abortion and homosexual communities.

In 1995, Cardinal Bernardin gave a speech called “The Story of the Campaign for Human Development-Theological and Historical Roots.”  In that speech he said that he was directly involved in the setting up of the CCHD.

Bernardin is the author of the “Seamless Garment Theology” that teaches sin and social problems are the same.  Abortion and poverty are of equal importance, voiding the need to end abortion quickly.

Jesus said that the poor will always be with us, but in God’s criminal justice system, murder is worthy of the death penalty.  It’s obvious to the casual reader that poverty is not a sin and murder is a heinous sin.  Cardinal Bernardin’s theology effectively desensitized the Catholic masses to the immediate need to end the horror of abortion.  The Cardinal’s theology taught that sin is social injustice, and Alinsky, under the guise of “social justice,” wanted to change the world for the better.  It was a marriage made perfect at the CCHD.

The money CCHD collects goes to community organizing groups like the IAF, Industrial Areas Foundation, personally founded by Saul Alinsky.  It is a school for professional radicals.  It receives 16% of all moneys allocated to the CCHD under the heading of fighting poverty.

Midwest Academy is a power grabbing group headed by Heather Booth who graduated from IAF.  Her husband, Paul Booth, was head of the Students for a Democratic Society, and now is the advisor to the president of the AFSCME union.  Here again, you see the church involved with democrats and the unions.  Interestingly, no money goes to pro life groups.

Barack Obama introduced the American public to the term “community organizer.”  People didn’t think much of it.  They scratched their heads, thinking it was a good thing that he volunteered his time.  No one understood that the term “community organizer” was a buzz word for the radical left.  No one understood that the infrastructure for what Obama is doing to destroy the moral, financial, and spiritual fiber of this nation was already in place.  No one understood, unless you were trained by those who built the infrastructure, as Barack Obama was, and as Msgr. Egan and his network of priests were.

Now it doesn’t seem so odd that President Obama would go to Notre Dame for a commencement speech.  He was there to pay tribute to his mentors in community organizing.  To pay tribute to those who helped put him in office.  In his speech he mentioned his high regard for Cardinal Bernardin, who spoke at one of the first organizing meetings he ever attended.

Michael Voris of Real Catholic TV stated that the sixteen fellows that run Notre Dame wanted President Obama there before Fr. Hesburgh died to show him that his dream had come to fruition.  Voris called it a “victory lap” for the entire Saul Alinsky School of community organizing.

Recently, President Obama said that he will force religious institutions to pay for contraception for all of their employees.  It is a bold move that seemingly flies in the face of the Catholic Church.  Or does it?

In light of the facts exposed in this article, it seemed strange to me that the bishops immediately went to the media threatening lawsuits over the contraception mandate. Why did they decide to fight this battle so vehemently?  Why don’t they fight the abortion battle as fiercely?  The Bishops could use this as a teaching moment but they haven’t.  Not one mention of the dangers of steroidal contraception or the fact that they cause abortion has entered the discussion.  I don’t believe that it’s an oversight.  I believe that the network of Saul Alinsky trained and indoctrinated bishops and priests and the CCHD are working with the Obama administration, and they have successfully diverted attention from the abortion issue to the contraception issue.  The democrats know that they cannot win this election if the media focuses on abortion, but they believe they can win with the focus on contraception.

With the help of the Catholic Church hierarchy, those that oppose everything good and holy have played the Christians like a fiddle.  All the while, innocent baby girls and boys are mercilessly killed in their mothers’ wombs.  Their blood stains the Church and cries out to almighty God for justice.  The question now is, what are we going to do about it?
