Here is a wonderful report, submitted by Jay Rogers, of Jesus working through the saints in Orlando.
Praise the lord! You guys are an awesome example and a perfect picture (living parable) of what God can do with many or with few. All we need do is show up. This is how the gates of hell come crashing down around us. We win when we are walking in faith with Almighty God.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the leadership meeting.
“For everyone who is born of God over comes the world. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 5:4-5,
Attached here is the obituary of our brother, fellow laborer, and fellow soldier of the cross of Christ, Skip Spurlock. Many of you did not know Skip as I had the privilege of knowing him, but you know his wife of fifty-one years, Brenda. Yep, Miss Brenda! What an extraordinary lady and what a God glorifying family they have given to us. The family did most of the home-going service with Pastor Gary Coleman, a longtime friend of Jesus’ precious preborn children, officiating.
Below please find the email I sent to Miss Brenda upon hearing of Skip’s passage into the arms of Jesus. The section of Scripture I shared with her has often been a great source of encouragement to me.
Thank you Jesus for the absolute certainty of the resurrection! Goodnight for now Skip – We will see you in the morning!
Dear Miss Brenda,
We are so sorry to hear the news of Skip’s passing. He is rejoicing with Jesus and things a very well with him. But I am sure that things are a little different with you on this side of heaven. We love you and are praying for you, the kids, and grandkids. Faye and I received the news late last night from Dorrie.
Just got off the phone with you this morning and God gave me a few verses of Scripture for you. He revealed to Martha, for the first time ever, a truth that He could not reveal to Mary. Mary was offended perhaps that Jesus had not come to be with her brother Lazarus during his time of sickness. But Martha’s theology and faith brought her to Jesus and she, before anyone else on earth, received this amazing truth:
“Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou had been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus said unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that beliveth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth, and believeth in me, shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith unto him, Yea Lord I believe that thou art the Christ the Son of God, which should come into the world.” John 11: 21-27.
Yes, the very same Martha whom Jesus chastised for being worried about many things and not taking the best part like her sister Mary, was the one to whom he revealed this incredible truth. Her strong and true theology brought her to Him. She was not offended, no matter the woes the world could bring upon her. Mary came to him only later and, even then, had to be coaxed.
Amazing!
We love you Miss Brenda!

Enjoy this wonderful article written by our brother in the Lord, Rusty Thomas. For those of us having difficulty finding the joy in Christmas this year. This article is for you.
Be careful of becoming a profound person – God became a baby.
ENJOY! ~ Flip
In a couple of weeks the world will celebrate Christmas. As the years march on, the controversy surrounding this day magnifies. The mainstream church seeks to defend its language, “Merry Christmas” from the Christ denying “Happy Holiday” or “Winter Solstice” substitutions. Some Christians view it as an unholy alliance between Christianity and paganism, which should be avoided like the plague. Of course, the same case is made for Holy Week and the celebration of our Lord’s resurrection. In typical fashion, the God-hating world consistently dishonors the significance of Christ by substituting His preeminence with pagan themes. The question then becomes, should we throw out the baby with the bath water? In other words, should we reject God’s original due to satanic counterfeits? I’ll leave these questions to each man’s conscience to consider.
The view of Christmas has other implications as well. Some Protestants cringe at the last three letters mas as it may be a reference to the Catholic Mass. Some point out that Christ was not born on December 25th, so why even bother. Others seek to avoid the commercialism surrounding the birth of Christ by concentrating on the “reason for the season.” Obviously, Christmas has become many things to many people.
But whether people honor or protest Christmas, its annual commemoration is certain. I suspect it will remain this way for the foreseeable future. Minimally, the merchants of the earth have a vested interest to secure the day if for no other reason than to boost their bottom line. The purpose for this article, however, seeks to understand the birth of Christ from a Biblical perspective. Does the Bible honor the event? If so, in what ways is the birth of Christ distinguished?
There is no doubt the God of the Bible viewed it as a major production. There were several hundred prophecies, types, and shadows that predicted, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given (Isaiah 9:6).” In fact, there are over three hundred prophecies concerning the Messiah interwoven throughout the Old Testament. Some of them are duplications of the same prophecy. For instance, the prophecy concerning Jesus being from the house of David is repeated about fourteen times. The prophecy that foretells the birth place of Messiah as the city of Bethlehem is repeated five times (Micah 5:2). The number of non-repeating distinct prophecies, however, comes in at about one hundred and ninety.
M.B. Bleecker, an engineer, took one hundred and fifty of these noteworthy prophecies that Jesus fulfilled and calculated the odds of His fulfilling them all. The odds of one man fulfilling one hundred and fifty prophecies in one lifetime are one in –
1,039,851,278,722,473,896,502,516,467,047,788,121,009,514,090,594,304
The odds of Jesus fulfilling just eight of them in His lifetime are one in –
100,000,000,000,000,000
Following up on this mathematical probability, consider Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Moody Press, 1963). Mr. Stoner demonstrates that coincidence is ruled out by the science of probability. Stoner suggests that by using the modern science of probability in reference to eight prophecies, “we find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 1017.” That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. In order to help us comprehend this staggering probability, Stoner illustrates it by supposing that “we take 1017 silver dollars and lay them over the face of Texas, so that they cover all of the state two feet deep.”
Mr. Stoner continues:
Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man.
In the realms of astronomy, the Star of Bethlehem has garnered for itself “the world’s most famous celestial event” in history. God rearranged the heavens as a sign that something of dramatic worth was transpiring upon the earth. Of course, it was never a common occurrence that the heavens would open and a choir of angelic hosts would appear to sing praise to God as they bring “good tidings of great joy.” What was the reason for such a bodacious display? They were carrying a divine message, which stated, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”
The Bible records that there was no small stir to the holy announcement. The most famous response came from the woman who was chosen to conceive and give birth to the Son of God. Today, we recognize Mary’s prophetic reply as the Magnificat. Pay close attention to her declarations as it pertains to this poor fallen world. Mary cries out:
My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; as he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
Mary acknowledges the incredible favor that has been demonstrated to her personally. Beyond personal considerations, she proclaims that there will be powerful ramifications that will greatly impact the world. Wrongs will be righted. Justice will eventually prevail. Oppression in due course will cease. Tyrants, dictators, the ruling elite, and the proud will be cast down. The hungry, poor, outcast, and disenfranchised will be helped. All this and more is guaranteed by the promise God spoke to Abraham and is now coming to pass with the birth of Christ. Is this something that should be ignored or should it be shouted from the rooftops now and forever more.
The theological term for this glorious event is called the Incarnation. In general terms it means in the flesh or to become human. When it comes to the birth of Christ, however, who or what is becoming human or coming in the flesh? The Gospel according to John grants us the Biblical meaning, John 1:1 and 1:14 states:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The denial of the Incarnation is what actually constitutes the dreadful designation the Bible calls Anti-Christ. Any person, religion, or philosophy that denies Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is Anti-Christ (1 John 4:1-3). Perhaps, there is more to this Christmas business than meets the eye. Remarkably, the same Word that spoke the heavens and the earth into existence, the same Word canonized in the Bible, the same Word that God sent to heal us, and deliver us from destruction became flesh and dwelt among us. One of the specific words is the fulfillment of Isaiah 7:14 which states, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Matthew interprets the name Immanuel as God with us. C. S. Lewis defined the significance of the Incarnation as “The Son of God became a man so that men could become the sons of God.”
The first mention of the promise of the Incarnation traces back to Genesis 3:15. God promised, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Normally, I present this passage of Scripture to teach on the battle that is raging for the souls of men, the lives of children, and the future of our planet. For this article, however, the emphasis will change. The spot light will focus on this passage as the first mention of the glorious Gospel of the Kingdom and the Incarnation as God’s remedy to correct the fall of man. To make this possible God had to establish a seed line.
God tapped Abraham and said, “I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.” Why did God choose Abraham? This might have something to do with it. Genesis 18:19 states, “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”
The promise of Messiah passed from Abraham to Isaac from Isaac to Jacob. Jacob had twelve sons, which became the twelve tribes of Israel. Out of the twelve tribes, the tribe of Judah was chosen. Genesis 49:10 promised, “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” Out of the tribe of Judah, the House of David was chosen. 2 Samuel 7:12, 13 declares:
And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
Finally, the book of Galatians announces The Promise is born. Galatians 4:4, 5 records, “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”
Having traced the seed line that brought about the Glorious Incarnation, it is time to explore what this means to us and this poor fallen world? There are many wonderful blessings associated with the Incarnation, but for our purposes, I’d like to concentrate on just two of them. One is corporate that concerns the world and the other is individual.
The corporate implications of the Incarnation are discovered in Isaiah 9:6, 7. God’s word states:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
When did the Kingdom of God come and the establishment of God’s government commence? When the Son was given and the Holy Child was born. What does this mean in the real world? “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever (Revelations 11:15).” How or when shall it completely take place? All we need to know is “the zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform it.”
The Gospel according to Luke reveals how Christmas relates to us as individuals. God’s word states:
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Luke 1:28-35).
Biblically, the same manner in which Mary conceived Christ physically is the same manner we receive Christ spiritually. Be it unto us according to thy Word. 1 Peter 1:23 affirms this powerful truth, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” James concurs, “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls (James 1:21).” The Apostle Paul agrees as well, “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 3:15).”
The circumstances surrounding the birth of Christ into our poor fallen world are highly significant as well. There was no room for him in the inn. This world and each sinner in it have a natural repulsion towards Christ. We suppress the truth in unrighteousness. We reject the light and walk in darkness for fear our evil deeds will be exposed. We go astray from the womb because we are conceived in sin. We are born alienated from God and seek to be a law and god unto ourselves. Thus for many, there is no room in our wicked hearts for Christ.
He was born in a stinky stable and laid in a manger. The manger was not a crib, but a feeding trough for animals. To think that the King of the universe chose this humble estate in which to become one of us is quite humbling. What a powerful depiction of the state of our lives before the King of Glory by the power of the Holy Ghost takes up residence in our immoral lives. We suffer from stinking thinking and sinful actions. When Christ regenerates our lives, however, the sanctifying power of His precious blood goes to work to purify and cleanse our “smelly stables” or if you prefer, our darknened souls.
Lastly, the ruling elite were clueless as the lowly shepherds saw and heard the glorious announcement:
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men (Luke 2:10-14).
So it is today, many glory in their riches, power, and wisdom, while those who are being saved boast in the Lord. In this way Christmas, among its many other accomplishments, also reveals our calling:
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Just as in His resurrection, Christ refused to appear to Pilate, Caesar, and the High Priest, but rather visited His rough and unsophisticated disciples, so at His birth, the angels appear to lowly shepherds and bypass the rich and famous. As Jesus grew into an adult; His attitude towards the proud never changed. He prayed, “I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes (Matthew 11:25).” “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out (Romans 11:33)!”
Much more can be shared about the implications of the Incarnation, but this will have to suffice for now. With that be said, I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and most blessed New Year in God’s Kingdom!
Three gentle warriors in the Lord in Jackson, Mississippi, were arrested on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, for praying on a public sidewalk in front of Mississippi’s last remaining abortion mill. Harriet Ashley, Ron Niederhoed, and Esther Mann are our friends and better friends of King Jesus and His precious preborn children.
Thank God for their stand! Would that all of God’s church would do the same.
Enjoy Dr. Pat McEwen’s reporting of this sad yet glorious event here.
Attached is the story of God’s call upon the lives of Michelle and her husband Brandon Stewart, and a picture of their wonderful family. Michelle posted this little caveat of their first family sortie into the gates of hell in Houston, this past Saturday, November 30, 2013.
There were four turn-aways that Saturday. Praise the Lord!
“We were able to implement two microphones at both entrances and we were much more effective. We were also able to have signs at both parking lots. We need Malachi, I believe! Praising King Jesus for a great day serving Him. It was such a joy to come as a family and we are only 6 people but wow we can really get stuff done in His name! The kiddos were challenging the clinic escorts today. It is both hilarious and sad to watch them get stumped by little kids.“

I have been reading in Jonah, Micah, and Nahum this week. This story is one that I couldn’t put down when I started in Jonah. I felt so compelled to dig into it and what we know about Ninevah. Why did Jonah struggle so much about going there? What was so bad about that wicked place?
I have learned that Houston has 15 “gates” aka killing places/abortion clinics. While studying up on Ninevah, I learned that it, too had exactly 15 gates in the city walls guarded with statues of bulls with human heads. In Jonah 1:2 I feel the Lord speaking to Jonah in the same way he spoke to me about Houston after the mill in my hometown of College Station, TX, closed down. FOREVER WE PRAISE YOU LORD FOR TEARING DOWN THAT STRONGHOLD!!! Please help me to heed this warning, O Lord. I want to please you. Hold me accountable to You as well as my earthly authorities designated to me by You as I struggle with that ever present fight with disobedience and comfort of my own town and home. I do NOT want to be swallowed up by the whale only to be spit out 3 days later.
I associate so closely with this story. As we walk through Jonah we see that he obeyed God the second time He commanded Jonah to go to Ninevah. We learn it was a 3 day walk to get there. I should be grateful I have a car and it’s only 2 hours to Houston! I also love how the Lord was providing for Jonah, even when Jonah wanted to die because he was so mad at God. He could not understand how he could end up so destructed, but God ended up sparing Ninevah, at least temporarily, because they repented. However, after he had evangelized as required by the Lord’s command, Jonah was not willing to use the tools the Lord gave him even for simple survival. The Lord grew up a plant around Jonah to cover him while he was homeless, but the plant withered away, as Jonah did not take care of it.
God even purposes to Jonah an interesting debate. I personally happen to love this part of the story, because it is a good example of how to deal with any lie of the enemy. Usually you can find something self-refuting in a lie. The art of apologetics is at work here when Jonah says, “It’s better for me to die than to live.” (Jonah 4:8). Talk about self pity…. but that is another topic. Back to the Lord’s response in verse 9 “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” Then in verse 10, Jonah seems to tell God, “Duh… of course it is right! I’m angry enough to die!” So the Lord answered in the final paragraph of the book: “You cared about the plant, WHICH YOU DID NOT LABOR OVER AND DID NOT GROW. It appeared in a night and perished in a night. Should I not care about the great city of Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who cannot distinguish between their right and their left, as well as many animals?” I imagine Jonah did not like the taste of that particular humble pie he had to eat that day. This is one concept it seems the Church also has a hard time dealing with. They focus on praise and worship, and being purpose-driven, but never actually step out onto that plank of obedience in full faithfulness and trust.
Micah gives us a great example of what it means to prophesy, (what we now call evangelizing since we have Holy Spirit). He spoke what the Lord needed to tell the people, in a land before the veil was torn. Priests talked to God for the people, and prophets talked from God to the people. We see him speaking of false “grace” prophets who leave out righteous judgment. Sounds A LOT like America! Micah does such a good job of living out Ephesians and standing for Truth, while still loving the people as God commanded him.
I know he is talking about Israel here, but I also relate closely to Micah 7:1-4 “How sad for me! For I am like one who – when the summer fruit has been gathered after the gleaning of the grape harvest – finds no grape cluster to eat, no early fig, which I crave.” (This particular passage feels like what it is to minister in Houston with the very low #s of known turnaways and rescues. Of course, Houston has all the tools to get to planting the seeds God gives them. But there are hardly any people willing to get out and work that field. They want to skip ahead to the harvest, and blame God for not bringing it to them).
It continues on: “Godly people have vanished from the land; there is no one upright among the people. All of them WAIT IN AMBUSH TO SHED BLOOD; they hunt each other with a net. Both hands are good at accomplishing evil; the official and the judge demand a bribe; when the powerful man communicates his evil desire, they plot it together. The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is worse than a hedge of thorns. The day of your watchmen, the day of your punishment, is coming; at this time their panic is here.” The panic is definately spreading in Houston, as gentle Christians, forced again out onto the ledge of obedience and trust, are answering the call to evangelize this enormous stronghold I call the “competitive market of abortion in Houston.” There are so many abortion clinics in Houston that they have started the names of the Clinics with A’s. There is A Affordable Women’s Center, Aaron’s Women’s Clinic, AAA Concerned Women’s Center, and Aalto Womens Center. That’s 4 clinics competing for the first spot in the yellow pages under: “Abortion provider.” The other clinics I know about so far are Gulf Coast Planned Parenthood Headquarters, Dickinson PP Health Center, Greenspoint PP Health Center, Northwest PP Health Center, Stafford PP Health Center, Houston Women’s Clinic, Suburban Women’s Clinic (2 locations in Houston proper), Texas Ambulatory Surgical Center, Southwest Health Center, and KNS Medical Center. Folks, if I wanted to visit 2 clinics per day in Houston, it would take me over a week! I have spent much time in Houston since we returned from the OSA national event in Rochester. I have largely been alone in my work, save my direct family. I was able to get in to three of the clinics without any deathscorts there, because they are not needed everywhere on Saturdays, and are basically not needed at all on Monday-Friday. Most of the clinics kill EVERY DAY but Sunday. Where are God’s people? Maybe this Ninevah needs us to GO THERE!
But first let’s revel in God’s awesome-ness! Michah 7:18 – 20 “Who is a God like You, removing iniquity and passing over rebellion for the REMNANT of His inheritance?” (Boy sometimes do I ever feel like nothing but a remnant.) “He does not hold on to His anger forever, because He delights in faithful love. He will again have compassion on us; He will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will show loyalty to Jacob and faithful love to Abraham, as You swore to our fathers from days ago.” What a BEAUTIFUL way to end a book that is very short, but very powerful.
In Rochester the Lord told me in a dream (that was so vivid, I got up and wrote it down immediately in the middle of the night) He gave me the term “destineered” and said, “Now GO!” I knew it was the Lord telling me that. Destineered is not in the dictionary, but you can kind of think of it as being designed/engineered or prepared for a fate or destiny or purpose. I promise this will make sense, so bear with me. If I were to have to go to Ninevah today, I’d have to fly to Baghdad, then drive north along the Tigris River, and when I got to the city of Mosul, I’d cross the river via bridge, and then I’d stop. I wouldn’t find that much when I got there, but I would know that that term “destineered” does not just apply to a Christian person’s purpose. It also can apply to a group of people’s ultimate fate. Ninevah’s ultimate fate was complete destruction, because they acted in rebellion against God. We know the Assyrians who lived there were a horrible and destructive people who took over cities by force – aggressive brutal force we would probably associate with Islam in our day and time.
I do not know what fate lies with Houston, or with America, but I do know that Jonah’s prophesy was conditionial. If they repented, God would save the city, and they would be spared. Initially, they did repent, and were spared; but ultimately, Ninevah was finally destroyed. God is slow to anger, but AWESOME IN POWER (Nahum 1:3). How many bb’s do we need to add to the “Sound of abortion” video before we’ve waited too long to repent? How many times can this country blaspheme our Creator before we have to taste of that bitter cup of wrath? I can’t know that, but I’m so glad that when we all get to heaven, all of this earthly battle stuff will just be a moment, and it will be over. Then, we can sit and rejoice with all of heaven, and the battle will have been WON! The battle is in fact, already won, because our God is not bound by the constraints of time, like the lowly earth is. He has always been on top!
Oh VICTORY in JESUS
My Savior FOREVER!
He sought me and He bought me
With HIS REDEEMING BLOOD!
He loved me e’er I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He Plunged me to VICTORY!!!!
Beneath the cleansing flood
Love and blessings from Texas!
Let’s keep standing!

This short article by Steve McCann encapsulates in 700 words the real significance of the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. I do not know that McCann is a Christian, but I do know that he has more truth in this short piece than I have seen in all of the editorials, docudramas, documentaries, et.al, that are filling the airwaves, periodicals, and web universe on this 50th memorial of JFK’s assassination.
We lived in Dallas, Texas, at the time of JFK’s twenty-fifth memorial on November 22, 1988. The city of Dallas was filled with national and international media and over 75 thousand mourners who gathered around the Book Depository and the grassy knoll in downtown. It was a somber time yet somehow it seemed eerily festive.
About twenty of us carried signs that read:
“One dies and Millions Mourn – Millions Die and No One Mourns!”
Invariably at some point in the history of a nation an event occurs which precipitates or dramatically accelerates the potential demise of that nation or empire. The United States experienced such an event in Dallas fifty years ago Friday.
Within months of the assassination of John Kennedy, America turned dramatically to the left as the avowed disciples of Franklin Roosevelt and European socialism assumed the reins of power and were the catalyst that unleashed into the American mainstream those true-believers in Marxist ideology determined to transform the nation, and who have now metastasized into a cancer on the American society.
President Lyndon Johnson, in league with an overwhelmingly Democrat-controlled Congress, shamelessly exploited the nation’s grief over the death of its youthful President and willfully steered the nation onto the course of massive government intervention into the day-to-day lives of all Americans, and unfettered social spending as personified by a myriad of welfare programs enacted under the rubric of the “War on Poverty”, the passage of Medicare and Medicaid, and the unleashing of an avalanche of new regulations. The inexorable transfer of unbridled power to Washington and the political expedient of unsustainable promises to the American people had begun in earnest.
Over the past 50 years the Democratic Party became the unabashed promoters of these policies, while many in the Republican Party, the most notable exception being Ronald Reagan, the enablers. As a result, the American economy is now in a near-permanent state of stagnation and the nation has embarked on a headlong dash into bankruptcy. While the population of the country has increased by 70% since 1963, the national debt has ballooned (on an inflation adjusted basis) 620% over the past half-century from $2,400 Billion to $17,200 Billion; however more ominous is the increase in unfunded liabilities since 1963 from an inflation adjusted $12,700 Billion to $127,000 Billion today. Although the adjusted Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has increased by 250% during these past 50 years, inflation-adjusted household median income has only grown by 30%, thanks in part to federal, state and local government spending which has increased by 375% and now siphons off 41% of the national GDP as compared to 26% in 1963. The primary factor: entitlement and social spending at all levels of government has increased a phenomenal 767% since 1963 ($450 Billion annually (inflation adjusted) versus $3,900 Billion today) (http://www.usgovernmentspending.com)
Further, as an indicator of the tentacles of a massive central government intruding on the day to day lives of all Americans, the Code of Federal Regulations (the official codification of the general and permanent rules and regulations of the government) is now approaching 180,000 pages (the height of a seven story building), an increase of nearly 500% since 1963. The culmination of this authoritarian trend toward the complete loss of freedom and privacy is the chaos that is ObamaCare and security agencies (such as the NSA) monitoring the daily activities of the citizenry.
However, it is not just the unrestrained growth of government and disastrous fiscal and monetary policies that has brought the country to the precipice it is also the denigration of American society and the transformation of the American ruling class — a large percentage of whom currently subscribe to socialist political philosophies. This is a ruling class that now has access to trillions of dollars and the unchecked power of government at its disposal. A by-product of which is the astronomical rise in political corruption and cronyism as well an ill-educated and ill-informed citizenry.
This process had its beginning in 1964 through 1968 as the Johnson administrations misguided and grossly mishandled Vietnam War spawned a broad anti-war movement. The ensuing protests unleashed far more than just a demand for an end to the war. Those that blamed America for all manner of alleged sins in the past and determined to transform the United States into a socialist/Marxist nirvana were able to step out from behind the shadows and enter the mainstream of national legitimacy. This swarm of locusts soon enveloped the higher levels of Academia spawning countless clones to further infiltrate and dominate all strata of the education, and media/entertainment establishment as well as assume control of the Democratic Party.
Not only by debasing the curriculum throughout all levels of schooling but through propaganda disseminated by the media/entertainment complex American society was gradually but inexorably altered to reflect the left’s determination to upend the basic moral and religious underpinning of society, thus assuring the populace would look to the government as their savior. This process, underway for nearly two generations, has eventuated in the creation of a massive class of low-information and dependent voters unconcerned about the nation’s future and susceptible to all manner of lies and propaganda from unscrupulous national leaders.
The most doctrinaire, dangerous and devious occupant of the Oval Office in the nation’s history is Barack Obama — the son of an avowed Marxist father, who not only in his childhood, but during all his formative years, was immersed in radical ideology. He would not be president today were it not for the consequences of the events that took place on the 22nd of November 1963.
It is always hazardous to speculate how someone would have governed had they lived to do so and were re-elected to a second term. However, John Kennedy, by his actions as President revealed himself to be someone who believed in controlling government spending and reducing taxes as a necessary catalyst for economic growth. Further, based on his experience with the Bay of Pigs debacle and the Cuban missile crisis, he was very circumspect about involving the United States in a massive military venture such as Viet Nam. One thing is certain, however, he clearly was not a disciple of Franklin Roosevelt and American socialism despite being a lifelong member of the Democratic Party.
Lee Harvey Oswald, steeped in Marxist ideology from his years in the Soviet Union, was, in his addled thought process, convinced he could change the course of American history by murdering John F. Kennedy. He has succeeded far more than he would have ever imagined. As the American people pause and reflect on those fateful days in November fifty years ago, they must not only remember the man but the consequences of his assassination, as only they can reverse the tide of history.
We went to Jackson to stand with the saints of Mississippi who want abortion to end in their state. We went to the “last abortion mill standing” in the state. We prayed at the “pink horror” while pro-aborts held signs, “this clinic stays open” and “abortion on demand with no apology.” All this in front of a killing center that was open, but not for business. As often happens when the theology of heaven becomes biography in the streets – the enemy closes shop. PTL!

With the mill essentially closed, we proclaimed the Gospel of Christ at other gates: five high schools, two college campuses, twenty-five churches, the state capitol, and ended at the courthouse with Chet and Cal! Literally thousands heard and saw our Lord’s message. The reception was incredibly welcoming. The folks in Mississippi really want abortion to end. What an awesome privilege to deliver God’s mail!
Operation Save America held another States of Refuge event in Jackson to proclaim the infinite value of human beings, made in God’s image, and to press for the closure of Mississippi’s last remaining house of child sacrifice. If you’ve never been to an OSA outreach, there is no better way to renew and re-dedicate one’s self to the furthering of God’s Kingdom and His purposes.
The evening rallies and daily educational demonstrations were powerfully effective and instructive. Reverend Flip Benham, Rusty Thomas, Chet Gallagher, Cal Zastrow, Ante Pavkovic and Coach Dave Daubenmire all fired up the troops for our daily missions, with the haunting theme of ‘who will stand in the gap’? It’s truly amazing to see what God can do with a small band of 70 dedicated Christians to rock a city for truth! Come, “stand in the gap” with us – it is exhilarating!
The Pepto Pink kill mill is still standing but, Lord willing, not for long. Diane Derzis and her employees on day one called the police to chase us away because they had a permit for an imaginary rally. Although there were no attendees, they insisted we depart and, because we had a memorial service at the Capitol to set up, we complied. Since their rally failed – they joined us for ours
As I drove away I got a snap of an employee decorating a car ~ hmmm? I should have anticipated their nefarious purpose but it didn’t click until the pro-aborts began circling the Capitol ~ horns blaring to drown out the memorial, in honor of the 60,000 MS babies killed by abortion. As disruptive as their parade was, nothing prepared us for the StopPatriachy.org anarchy team’s takeover of the steps of the Capitol, led by Sunsara Taylor. Chanting, “A fetus isn’t a baby”, “Abortion isn’t murder”, and “Women aren’t incubators”, they stormed the event with further shouts of “Abortion on demand, no apology”. Their attempts at mayhem made the battle we fight so clear.
Their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their paths.8 The way of peace they have not known, And there is no justice in their ways; they have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace. Isaiah 59:7-8
Capitol security was slow to respond but eventually removed them from the Capitol grounds. Across the street the mocking and four letter words continued, but the memorial to the pre-born children lost in Mississippi was magnificently proclaimed.
The following day, we headed to Pearl High School to educate the students about the horror of abortion. We learned that the city of Pearl claims to be a First Amendment Free city. We were asked to leave the campus by school authorities and told to go across the highway, which we did. Not long after, numerous squad cars arrived and the Police Chief told us of their ordinance requiring a permit to protest anywhere in Pearl. Former police officer, Chet Gallagher, was extremely diplomatic in his discussions regarding the ordinance which seems to be a clear First Amendment violation.
Our next stop was Millsaps College. Founded as a Methodist college in the late 1800s, the institution is now clearly bereft of her founding principles. Our signs were not welcome on the school property, so we set up shop across the street and the fiery preaching of Flip Benham and Ante Pavkovic began in earnest. Powerful preaching about John Wesley and how he was persecuted for his faith and the faith of the school’s founders really sent several students over the edge. Female students sadly began acting out lewdly and a young male was clearly agitated. Truth is hate to those who hate the truth.
A local businessman confronted our demonstration, complaining that we were interfering with his ability to do business. He held his hand on the horn for minutes at a time, trying to drown out the preaching. “When deceit becomes universal; truth becomes a revolutionary act.” George Orwell.
Today’s church is so MIA from the ‘war on the pre-born’ and her message so milquetoast, that a strong word makes people lose it when they hear and see truth.
“26 Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, to shed blood, to destroy people, and to get dishonest gain.28 Her prophets plastered them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord had not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. 30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:26-30
